Room is spacious, bathroom is large. Very comfortable accommodation for the price. Comparing to the hotels in the center of Edgertown, Edger hotel provides better value and more modern setting. It does not have a pool. It does have onsite parking. There are no elevator to the 2nd floor. This is the only negative aspect. Otherwise it is my best experience so far on MV.

Coukd have used a welcome folder with a map, nearby places to eat, and info about free buses. No suggestions about placex to see. Oh and no real patio area except at restaurant which was only open in evening. No pool.

We had high hopes for the Edgar based on the hotel website, but were sorely disappointed. The bed was the most uncomfortable we’ve ever slept in on all of our travels. Our backs were killing us by morning. The bathroom was an odd mix of new and old. The countertop was a beautiful new quartz with tons of room for all of our toiletries. The shower was old and outdated. The ceiling tiles were disgustingly stained. The plugs were so worn that nothing would stay plugged in; I had to dry my hair in the bedroom. The sink stopper didn’t work. The front desk staff weren’t overly friendly. For some reason, the onsite restaurant was not open the night we stayed. We were looking forward to sleeping in, but were awakened before 7am by loud banging and backup horns; it might have been garbage pickup or deliveries at the adjacent grocery store. Note, there is no elevator but we knew that ahead of time. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. The website doesn’t live up to reality.

Loved the room and facilities. In house Pub and restaurant were excellent along with all the staff members we met. Location really requires you to have a vehicle on the island but the free easy parking makes it easy if you do. Would definitely stay here agaib.

Wonderful welcoming staff at a clean modern facility. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Hotel is conveniently located right along the #1 and #13 bus routes, and there's grocery and dining options a short walk away. We would certainly come back next time we're in the area!

The staff could not have been nicer, more friendly or helpful. They were the best part of the stay. The rooms are average size, carpets are tired, but baths, bedding all seem new. Having a fridge & microwave is a plus. There’s no housekeeping during your stay unless requested, which would be a problem, but the door to the service closet with towels and supplies was open & we were told to leave dirty/wet towels on the floor and replace fresh towels on our own as needed. The location is excellent, groceries next door, bike rental across the street. 15 min walk into Edgartown. Unlike their sister hotel across the street, there’s no “hang out” space, no front lounge, etc. and frankly the price is insane, albeit competitively priced… but the entire island is crazy expensive. If you’re looking for a clean, decent place w/a fridge that’s well located to town, beaches, and a friendly staff, this is a good place to stay.

My stay was disappointing. I was given a room with an ant infestation. I set a closed bottle of juice on my nightstand and five minutes later it was covered in ants. There were no others rooms available. I had to go to sleep concerned about ants crawling on me. I reported incident and no one from the hotel followed up with me. O think some entered my room the next day without out my permission and sprayed bug spray on the nightstand which was not ideal as I have an allergy to it. The property was not secure. An exterior door was left open very late at night. It lead to a restaurant park way. Anyone that walked through the restaurant would have their run of the hotel. It likely contributed to the big issue too. quite disappointing considering the room totaled almost $1000 with fees and taxes for one night. Would not stay again.

The property was clean and the staff was very nice. The rooms were spacious and nice. The location is great because it was in walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants, shopping, and public transportation. I would definitely stay at the Edgar Hotel again!

This property is located in a lovely neighborhood and is within walking distance to Stop and Shop and DQ ice cream. The hotel is peaceful during May. The carpets could benefit from either a replacement or a thorough cleaning, but the beds and sheets are of high quality. The room is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, ironing board, and safe.

Hotel was adequate for our purpose although very expensive for the atmosphere. The room and bathroom were clean although there are obvious stains on the carpet. It is in a parking lot, adjacent to a grocery store parking lot. If it weren't so expensive (very close to $500/night), then the review would reflect the cost. We felt safe there which is most important.

Upon departing the Martha's Vineyard ferry from Vineyard Haven, we drove less than 15 minutes to the Edgar Hotel. The staff were welcoming, hospitable, and helpful with suggestions for places of interest to visit. The room was new, spacious, clean with a comfortable bed, and was quiet except for the exit door near our room that would slam shut and wake us up at 5:30 AM. Our corner room had many windows that offered natural light, however, we were on the first floor and cars parked outside our window could see in if we had the blinds open. The only thing missing are black out curtains. The shower faucet was difficult to turn off if you have arthritis. These are minor things in comparison to the convenient location next to Stop and Shop market, ample parking, and close proximity to all the shops, restaurants, and beach. We will gladly reserve a room here again next time we visit.

Needed a rollaway didn’t have. Beds were very uncomfortable and the A/C was terrible so we sweated all night long and it wasn’t even that hot out. Good luck staying at this place in August. It was nice to have Stop and Shop next door.

Charming place but we had a leaky air conditioner which dripped water all over our clothes while we were out and ruined a few. The hotel was nice enough to give us another room but just put a damper on a nice vacation. Not having a night manager on duty, we had to wait the whole night without air conditioning.

This place would’ve gotten 4-5 stars had it not been for two things. #1 the bathroom sink was clogged. #2 the smart tv had no internet connection. Apparently according to the staff that works there none of the rooms have internet connection going to the tv so despite have chrome cast you can’t stream apps. For a price point that they charge I expect better.

Abree at the front desk was so amazing and accommodating after Expedia didn’t send our reservation through to the hotel. Her communication and customer service to help us resolve our problem was amazing. The property was clean and very convenient to town.

My stay was disappointing. I was given a room with an ant infestation. I set a closed bottle of juice on my nightstand and five minutes later it was covered in ants. There were no others rooms available. I had to go to sleep concerned about ants crawling on me. I reported incident and no one from the hotel followed up with me. O think some entered my room the next day without out my permission and sprayed bug spray on the nightstand which was not ideal as I have an allergy to it. The property was not secure. An exterior door was left open very late at night. It lead to a restaurant park way. Anyone that walked through the restaurant would have their run of the hotel. It likely contributed to the big issue too. quite disappointing considering the room totaled almost $1000 with fees and taxes for one night. Would not stay again.

Our stay was excellent. Comfortable, staff was very warm and made us feel at home. We asked for suggestions for different things and they were eager to share their experiences with us which was very helpful. It was close to town and we would definitely stay here again.

I booked two rooms through Expedia however the reservation was not transferred to the hotel. Because the rooms that I booked were not not available, I was upgraded to a private suite which was very nice. Staff went above and beyond. Thank you.

Upon departing the Martha's Vineyard ferry from Vineyard Haven, we drove less than 15 minutes to the Edgar Hotel. The staff were welcoming, hospitable, and helpful with suggestions for places of interest to visit. The room was new, spacious, clean with a comfortable bed, and was quiet except for the exit door near our room that would slam shut and wake us up at 5:30 AM. Our corner room had many windows that offered natural light, however, we were on the first floor and cars parked outside our window could see in if we had the blinds open. The only thing missing are black out curtains. The shower faucet was difficult to turn off if you have arthritis. These are minor things in comparison to the convenient location next to Stop and Shop market, ample parking, and close proximity to all the shops, restaurants, and beach. We will gladly reserve a room here again next time we visit.

The lower floor was under construction. That should have been noted prior to booking. However, we really enjoyed our stay and the walk to Edgartown was only a half mile and it was beautiful.

Room is spacious, bathroom is large. Very comfortable accommodation for the price. Comparing to the hotels in the center of Edgertown, Edger hotel provides better value and more modern setting. It does not have a pool. It does have onsite parking. There are no elevator to the 2nd floor. This is the only negative aspect. Otherwise it is my best experience so far on MV.

Hotel was adequate for our purpose although very expensive for the atmosphere. The room and bathroom were clean although there are obvious stains on the carpet. It is in a parking lot, adjacent to a grocery store parking lot. If it weren't so expensive (very close to $500/night), then the review would reflect the cost. We felt safe there which is most important.

Wonderful welcoming staff at a clean modern facility. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Hotel is conveniently located right along the #1 and #13 bus routes, and there's grocery and dining options a short walk away. We would certainly come back next time we're in the area!

Coukd have used a welcome folder with a map, nearby places to eat, and info about free buses. No suggestions about placex to see. Oh and no real patio area except at restaurant which was only open in evening. No pool.

We had high hopes for the Edgar based on the hotel website, but were sorely disappointed. The bed was the most uncomfortable we’ve ever slept in on all of our travels. Our backs were killing us by morning. The bathroom was an odd mix of new and old. The countertop was a beautiful new quartz with tons of room for all of our toiletries. The shower was old and outdated. The ceiling tiles were disgustingly stained. The plugs were so worn that nothing would stay plugged in; I had to dry my hair in the bedroom. The sink stopper didn’t work. The front desk staff weren’t overly friendly. For some reason, the onsite restaurant was not open the night we stayed. We were looking forward to sleeping in, but were awakened before 7am by loud banging and backup horns; it might have been garbage pickup or deliveries at the adjacent grocery store. Note, there is no elevator but we knew that ahead of time. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. The website doesn’t live up to reality.

Loved the room and facilities. In house Pub and restaurant were excellent along with all the staff members we met. Location really requires you to have a vehicle on the island but the free easy parking makes it easy if you do. Would definitely stay here agaib.

Disappointed that it wasn't closer to the main downtown . Unfortunately they don't serve a continental breakfast. The TV wasn't the easiest to manipulate. The room was very quiet and we really enjoyed that part. The attached restaurant was good for dinner.
