Forenom Aparthotel Turku

You are booking a studio apartment with no amenities. There was no staff onsite besides the cleaners, and the threat of “clean everything yourself or pay the price” - was very unwelcoming and distant. I did book based on price and usually keep to myself when traveling eking but it was rather creepy with no one else around and/or random people doing maintenance work with the security doors open. The WiFi was not strong so seriously second guess your choice if you are considering working remotely from here. There is also a lot of nighttime noise from the party street below. There was no way to have wi does open past 9pm if you wanted any down time.

Horrible experience from start to finish. I had updated my reservation to 2 days earlier. Got a confirmation of the change. Their system never updated the change so I never received an access code. When calling my call couldn’t go through. I had to ask a stranger off the street to help call on their phone. Instead of updating my reservation they gave me a new one, then billed me and I already paid when I made the reservation. Now I am getting emails for an upcoming reservation that should have been updated or cancelled. What a headache to keep dealing with it. Don’t use this company.

The room is very spacious

Immediately after arriving I tried to contact fornom and could not make contact with anyone. I contacted hotel.com and they couldn’t make contact either. The room had an insecure door which looked like it had been forced at some point and was damaged. There was no other way to secure it like a chain or lock so I didn’t feel safe. The room looked onto an internal wall which was the side of a shopping centre. This wall was illuminated 24/7 so the room was never dark. The next day when I finally managed to contact fornom I asked for a move to a room with natural light and a secure lock. I was told I could move but they couldn’t guarantee it would be an improvement. I asked for a refund for the remaining nights so I could go elsewhere. They told me I couldn’t get a refund because I had been offered another room. The evening before I left they moved me to … the room next door , the door was secure but it still looked into an illuminated wall, this time with a space where we could see all the people in the shopping centre waiting for the toilet - which was at the other side of the wall. Aside for all this, the room was in poor condition marks all over the walls, extremely thin “mattress”. Corridors are all painted black and are very dark. It absolutely ruined my stay in Turku. After all the back and forth and because I’d moved rooms … I was offered 10% refund from fornom

Excellent location to go every where. All buses pass around the corner. The mall and supermarket right downstairs and across the street. The apartment has everything you need to sleep and quick cook snacks to save some money. Good ratio price / quality.
