De las mejores opciones que encontré en la aplicación, el lugar tal como lo muestran en las fotos. El lugar limpio, con lo necesario para pasar una estadía cómoda, excelente servicio en recepción. Cuenta con restaurante para desayunos, variedad amplia y rico con buen precio. A escasos metros del mar y el área de alberca perfecta. Todos disfrutamos esta estadía tanto adultos como niños.

A una cuadra de la playa, no tiene rampa y elevador lo cual puede dificultar la movilidad a los mayores, las habituaciones están en el segundo piso, hubo 1 día, dónde se fue la luz por la noche en el hotel, tienen ventana grande pero, pues ya sabrán :( volvió a la tarde siguiente. todo lo demás agradable habitaciones muy limpias, poco personal pero amable, desayuno con costo con buen sabor, precio razonable.

The hotel is very nice. Close to the town and the beach. Unfortunately, the pool was under renovation the entire time that we were there. It looked like it would be lovely though. We were very surprised to find out that they only take cash, no credit cards. This meant a trip to the only ATM in town which charged a whopping 174 pesos service fee! The breakfast in the small restaurant in the lobby was very good and the service was excellent. On Valentine’s Day they were open for a special pasta dinner. It was excellent. I suggest that next time they host an evening dinner, it would be nice to have some Mexican red and white wines available. It would complement the meal and be an opportunity to showcase the great Mexican wines. There are a few roosters living right outside the back of the hotel, they wake up about 5AM, so if I ever return, I will bring earplugs.

An oasis of calm in a town that on first sight can appear unmanageable for foreigners. Loved having a fridge in our room. The air conditioner was new and very quiet. Pretty swimming area and no booming music, thank goodness.

Amazing hotel! Clean and so close to the beach. The front desk ladies are the most accommodating & sweet. They held onto to our luggages after we checked out and always were greeting us. Would recommend to my friends and family Very nice pool as well

The rooms (we had two) were cleaned every day and nicely done. They were small and could have used more outlets, but had a nice small balcony overlooking the small pool. AC worked fine. It was indeed a "beach hotel", and was not meant for anything fancy, but was a very good deal for the price. The beach was right across the street and lovely. Wi-fi was a bit spotty, but useable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast (extra) was very nice, except the day that nobody showed up to prepare it (the day after Carnaval). The small staff seemed to take on many roles, but they did everything well. I would definitely go back to Don Gonzalo if we were to travel again to Celestún. The only real problem was the noise from the "neighbors"---not parties and raucousness, but dogs and especially roosters that started crowing around 4 AM and didn't shut up for most of the morning. We have lived in Mexico and have heard these sounds before and got more or less accustomed to it, but it did detract from the experience.

Room facilities and staff were good. Excellent location. If u are a light sleeper be aware of the barking dogs and roosters next door at a residence. Non stop all night, and all rooms are subject to the noise.

The hotel was very nice, all in all. The street noise was terrible on Saturday night. There were small annoyances with the room. The wifi never worked properly even with help from the staff. Also, there were no reading lights for the beds nor light controls near the bed. Otherwise, it is a wonderful, clean, modern hotel.

It is a great town to visit fora couple days. This hotel is very pleasant. Well run and great breakfast. Not much English spoken but very nice people who take care of you anyway.

El hotel está demasiado cómodo como para no salir de él, en general todo estuvo perfecto, la atención recibida, las instalaciones y por su ubicación lo hacen sobresalir de los demás. Fue un placer habernos hospedado en este bello lugar. gracias Belén y Nailea por su agradable atención.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had left a nightlight/charger in the bathroom and 2 days later after I realized we had left it, I was able to recover it. We decided to stay longer in Celestún than originally planned. We needed to change to a different hotel because Don Gonzalo’s does not take credit cards. Cash only. It does say this on hotels.com, but only if you click on more property information or read it in a review. Breakfast was good, but again be prepared to pay cash each day. There is only one ATM (@Willy’s on the square)that works for foreigners. The hotel is a short walk to the beach, not on the beach. The beds are a bit hard. Most restaurants are on the beach and only a few stay open past 6pm. Otherwise there were 2 restaurants we found on the square that were open past 6pm.

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming! The hotel was only a few minutes walk to the beach and there were a variety of modest dining options on the beach or near the town square. The hotel had a food service and weekend bar service. We really enjoyed the pool area and spent some relaxing by the pool. We were picked up at the hotel to go on a fabulous guided canoe tour through the mangroves where we saw a large variety of birds including flamingos! The hotel staff helped us with the motel taxi transport to the tour site. Make sure you book a room with a window view. Thanks again to all the staff at this wonderful hotel. John & Pat, Victoria BC, Canada

Great location! Within walking distance from the beach and local stores. Hotel has all necessary amenities including hot water and AC. We only staid one night but loved this hotel more than the one in Tulum which didn't have hot water and the power kept cutting off. For a small town, you can't go wrong with Don Gonzalo!

Has a very nice pool as well as being a short walk to the beach. Our room was large and very clean. The town of Celestun has its own funky charms.

Great location - close to the beach. Good size swimming pool. Helpful staff - Spanish only. Decent room. Good breakfast - not included. Somewhat noisy - dogs, roosters and vehicles. Wifi not great, especially with my laptop. Would definitely go back.

De las mejores opciones que encontré en la aplicación, el lugar tal como lo muestran en las fotos. El lugar limpio, con lo necesario para pasar una estadía cómoda, excelente servicio en recepción. Cuenta con restaurante para desayunos, variedad amplia y rico con buen precio. A escasos metros del mar y el área de alberca perfecta. Todos disfrutamos esta estadía tanto adultos como niños.

The hotel is very nice. Close to the town and the beach. Unfortunately, the pool was under renovation the entire time that we were there. It looked like it would be lovely though. We were very surprised to find out that they only take cash, no credit cards. This meant a trip to the only ATM in town which charged a whopping 174 pesos service fee! The breakfast in the small restaurant in the lobby was very good and the service was excellent. On Valentine’s Day they were open for a special pasta dinner. It was excellent. I suggest that next time they host an evening dinner, it would be nice to have some Mexican red and white wines available. It would complement the meal and be an opportunity to showcase the great Mexican wines. There are a few roosters living right outside the back of the hotel, they wake up about 5AM, so if I ever return, I will bring earplugs.

Our stay was a few days before Christmas, so it got loud a couple of nights. Also, the neighbors, have roosters and dogs, so it gets noisy early in the morning. Maybe earplugs or extra pillows might help with noise. Other than that, we were extremely happy with our stay. The hotel and restaurant staff were awesome. The food at the restaurant, best in Celestun!!
