I had a pleasant stay overall. The front desk staff were very helpful and attentive, providing clear instructions in English, especially useful for guests planning to use the transfer to Disneyland. Housekeeping was excellent and very attentive to details. The airport shuttle runs perfectly on schedule, like clockwork, which makes transfers very easy. Breakfast is okay, nothing outstanding but sufficient to start the day. There is also an outlet mall about 2 km away, which is convenient for some shopping. On the downside, the location is really only convenient for the airport and Disneyland. If your plans include visiting downtown Shanghai, the hotel is quite far and commuting can be time-consuming.

Airport and disney shuttle were great, disney shuttle could return a little later as you cannot see the fireworks and get back for 2200. Rooms clean and well kept, firm bed. A room safe is the only extra I would ask for. Staff very helpful and kind.

We stayed at this hotel both when we arrived in and departed from Shanghai. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are extremely helpful. Very friendly staff, among whom was someone apparently with artistic talent and passion who left cute welcoming notes with drawings in our room. Front desk gave us a free upgrade to a family room when we checked in as a family of three without us asking. Free shuttle to the airport. We had to depart at 5am to catch a 8am flight. Staff was considerate enough to pack a light breakfast togo bag for everyone which was beyond our expectation. Onsite laundry was convenient and easy to use. Room was very clean and spacious. Good shower head. Plenty of dining choices minutes walking from hotel. No complaints whatsoever. Will definitely stay again next time passing through Shanghai

We booked the hotel for its good rating and accessibility to Shanghai airport. On arrival which was before the official check-in, we already got a room and the receptionist, a young male went above and beyond to help us with transportation to central Shanghai. The hotel isn't very well connected to public transport. It's either 10 minutes by taxi to a metro station or 35 minutes by taxi to central. Also, the hotel doesn't show up on the map if you order a DiDi, the equivalent to UBER. Downloading a Chinese keyboard on the phone made it possible. The room itself was spacious but unfortunately the AC didn't manage to warm it up at all and it was freezing in Shanghai that day and night. For breakfast which was included, a range of dumplings, white and black rice porridge, eggs in a variety, noodles, vegetables and cereals are available. Nothing to write home about it and okay. Wifi was bad and we couldn't do any research. The free airport shuttle bus leaves every hour at 6.05am, 7.05am, etc and takes roughly 30 minutes to Terminal 1. Unfortunately, the receptionist was the complete opposite to our welcoming experience the day before. All in all it was okay, however, due to the bad connectivity to central Shanghai, we wouldn't stay there again.

Zero sound insulations. You can hear people getting up to catch plane all throughout the night. The whole facility, including the hallway and inside the rooms, smell of cigarette. Shuttle to the airport is only once per hour, so basically I saved no time by staying here.

The staff were amazing and helpful, the cleaners did a wonderful job. We thoroughly enjoyed the Buffet breakfast and the free shuttle to the airport everyday of our stay to catch the train into Shanghai City was a bonus. Check-in was quick and efficient, despite the late time. The staff were incredibly helpful and a real highlight of my stay. Their English communication was excellent, which was greatly appreciated. We arrived late due to flight delay and stayed a max 5 hours. The lady at reception was not very welcoming and very blunt and sharp- although I did consider we arrived at 1am. Room was clean and spacious but the water/shower was very loud when running. Great airport shuttle service on the hour and due to an early checkout and flight before breakfast start time- a brown bag was packed with bread and milk. Only one elevator. Conveniently located near the airport however the name of the hotel was not found/available on didi which was a struggle as we came from the other Shanghai airport 1.5hrs away.

Starting with the neighborhood, it has very convenient shops, 24 hours pharmacy, restaurants, it is located 3km from lingkong metro station, following with the staff, very friendly and there is not such thing as language barriers since they will try to their very best to understand and accommodate your needs. The facilities are always clean and also offers a nice breakfast plus transportation from and to Pudong airport .

I chose this hotel because it had free…. Wifi, breakfast, and transfers. I cannot fault The Joyful Yard, the breakfast could have had done English dishes like bacon and beans but it’s China after all. Leaflets of where to go and details of the Metro would have helpful as the staff spoke very little English. I paid 400 yuan for a taxi to Shanghai when the metro was 6 yuan.

Hotel has a great location for Pudong Airport and Disney with free shuttles to both, rooms are clean and spacious, the staff are polite and will always assist you, metro into the city is easily accessible by DiDi cab and costs between £3-£5 depending on type of car. Food seems to be traditional Chinese breakfast to a good standard, would definitely recommend this hotel and will return if ever in Shanghai.
