10 of us stayed at the Roux House for a martial arts tournament at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and have our own beds. The kitchen was well appointed and we had family style meals at the large table. Beds were comfy, linens were clean, and there were plenty of towels. The exterior may give you pause, but the interior has been renovated. The host is very responsive to questions and incredibly helpful. Overall it was a lovely stay in an updated older home with all the best quirks (squeaky floors, lavish staircase, latching windows, etc.) that only added to its charm.

First thing we noticed, the house was very clean. The house was more than spacious for 4 couples & 2 children (10 total). The beds were very comfortable. 4 total bathrooms. Plenty of towels. Our 2 rental cars had enough room in the back parking lot. But, be careful and take your time going up & down the ramp. Only a few blocks from a very nice restaurant artsy area, which we went often. Communication with the owner was outstanding, as you could tell he really cares about his property and the people the rent his house. Definitely 100% stay here again.

The home is charming and quaint. There were plenty beds for our party of 5. My friends really liked the colors upstairs and the home. It made them feel like they were at there Mom’s home. The windows in the second floor bathroom were really cute. The only few downfalls were the smell of the home. It smelled like a dog kennel and the tenant downstairs was unexpected. The tenant had dogs out each time we came or left and they barked and jumped a lot. We feared they would be able to jump the fence. The parking is also tight. You have to drive down a curving steep driveway and then maneuver around the various parked vehicles if you have more than one. In our case we had four vehicles and it was tough to pull in or out once parked. The home had amenities including linens for the stay. The big turnoff for us was the bad odor. We would suggest a couple of throws when you are in the living room. It gets a bit chilly. The proximity to downtown was great. All of our events were downtown so we could just drive down Zang and back into downtown in a few minutes. The owner communicated daily which felt good. We knew he wanted the stay to be pleasant for us and we appreciated his check ins.

This property is absolutely perfect if you have a large group. The home is spacious and clean. It has all the amenities you would need to have an enjoyable stay. Chris the property manager was great. He was very accessible and accommodating. The location is perfect. Although they only allowed for 4 parking spots, there is plenty of parking within the neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

We spent a cozy weekend here in January with friends and it was terrific. My husband is an amateur chef and was surprised at how well equipped the kitchen was. The house is very cute and comfortable inside and was a perfect small group setting. The only caveat is that the house is located in an "up-and-coming" neighborhood on a main street with lots of traffic. You won't want to go out walking in the evenings. Bring earbuds for those who sleep on the street side of the house. Neither of these issues were a problem for our crew because we either stayed inside the whole time or drove to the nearby Bishop Arts District, which was super cute and has great restaurants. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Roux. The host was great with communication. The house was very nice and clean. Everything worked out very well. The only thing we were concerned about was the lady staying in the apartment below the house. We had small children with us and they walk very heavily. We were worried they were bothering her. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend to others!

The property was exactly like described and the pictures are very accurate. It is in a great location and within walking distance to many food options. We felt safe, but was on a very busy street, so if you have littles just make sure they don't venture outside. The property consisted of 3 stories which allowed everyone to spread out-which was great with our large group. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean! Parking is very limited and if you have more than 4 cars you have to park across the street. Also if you have small children they should stay upstairs because the lady living under the house did not like them playing in the common areas. I would reserve this house again if we didn't have littles in our group, but will probably not book again when we have a group with smaller children.

Close location to downtown, great Bishop Arts district location with restaurants and shops. House is very clean, and accommodating. Live-in tenant down stairs is friendly but dog barks a lot at strangers. Driveway and parking is very narrow and difficult to navigating in poor weather.

When we first arrived we noticed a funny smell and not as clean as we were expecting. We had to go out and purchase our own cleaning products to clean bathrooms. BBQ grill and patio were dirty. Inside was nice and basically looked like pics. However be aware when you check out you will have to strip the beds and put the linens and towels in the laundry room plus you will have to empty the trash. Not sure why 5 hours is needed to clean house between guests. Oh and we also had to purchase additional toiletries because they did not provide enough.

We had a good stay although I felt the towels and shower curtains could have been a bit cleaner. All in all the house was fine, it has the ability to sleep a solid number of people and I believe everyone would be comfortable. The arts district is super close and there are some great restaurants there. Additionally downtown Dallas is very easy to get to and the highways are very accessible.

At first glance, the house looked clean, but shortly after checking in we were disgusted to find a dead roach on the stairs. We immediately contacted the host, who said pest control had been done just last week and offered to send someone out. They also casually said roaches are "normal for Texas," which was shocking and completely unacceptable.Wanting to confirm the truth, we asked for documentation and discovered that pest control had actually been done months ago, not recently. We felt completely misled.The next day, we saw two more live roaches inside the home. It was gross, unsettling, and made us question the entire cleanliness and safety of the property. When we followed up with the host again, they were dismissive, repeated the excuse that roaches are normal, and offered no refund, no apology, and no accountability.There is nothing normal or acceptable about finding roaches, dead or alive, in a vacation rental. This experience was far below any reasonable standard. We were extremely disappointed and would absolutely not recommend this property to anyone.But hey, if you agree with the host that having roaches in your home is just part of “normal” Texas living, then maybe this place is for you. Otherwise, stay far away.

We came in town for a Bears cowboys game. The location is awesome as far as being convenient to everything. The beds are very comfortable. We had 8 of us and still had plenty of room. House is perfect for any groups and cost is well worth the money. The biggest feature was it was clean which is always a risk for any rental, no concerns on cleanliness at this one so book freely.

This is a beautiful historic home. Everything was spotless. The beds are comfortable. The traffic and trolley are loud at night, but there are two portable fans at the house that you can use for blocking out the noise. We went during July, so it was hot, but all three floors were cool and comfortable. The owner left plenty of toiletries to use, which is awesome. It is a 20-25 minute drive to DFW airport. The owner left plenty of detailed instructions and was available for questions. We would definitely stay here again!

We were in Dallas for a conference, bringing our staff, and The Roux House totally met our needs. It was very clean, beds comfortable, and the photos and descriptions were accurate. We didn't really cook there, but the kitchen is amazingly stocked. We had a bit of a challenge initially with the door code, but Chris was very responsive and on it. He even took the time to call me at one point to ensure all was well. Should you find yourself in Dallas and need a place with 5 bedrooms, I'd highly recommend The Roux House.

This house is definitely not "luxury," but it is very comfortable and in a good location for bars/restaurants and to grab a quick ride share or trolley to downtown. Road noise is definitely a concern if you need quiet to sleep. It's a busy road, and there were sirens and car noises all night. Chris was very responsive & helpful, but there were quite a few small issues with home that one wouldn't expect in a luxury space. As many others said in their reviews, we also had an issue getting into home upon arrival, so that lock needs to be addressed. Overall it was a nice space that worked well for our small group of adults.

Listing was true to its word and perfect for our group. We had 10 employees in town for a show at the convention center. Less than 2 miles away with some great restaurants in walking distance. Plenty of room in the home. We would definitely come back.

Wonderful house for a girls getaway weekend! Plenty of space for the 6 of us. There is a fair amount of street noise in the bedrooms facing the street

This is a fantastic home. I stay at VRBO properties a lot & this one is really great. Highlights: 1. It was stocked better than any VRBO I have ever stayed out. Usually, there is just a few items & you have to go to the store. But not here. Plenty of coffee supplies, paper towels, toilet paper (the high quality kind) :), shampoo, conditioner, etc. Nice towels & linens. Great decor 2. The house has 4 thermostats so even the 3rd floor room was cool. 3. There is plenty of room with a big sitting area & a smaller sitting area. A really BIG dining room too. Plenty of dishes, pots & pans, etc. The beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. Everything was clean & neat. There is parking in the back & it is very secure with a high fence. 4. Great location. We were less than 5 minutes from the convention center & there was never any traffic. We all felt VERY safe. 5. There are a few restaurants extremely close. 6. The owner is extremely attentive & easy to work with. 7. There were 6 of us here for a Mary Kay convention. We could have easily had 4 more girls with us & still would have been able to easily get ready bc there are so many areas to put on makeup w great lighting. 3 Full bathrooms & a half bath. Lots of beds. If a family was renting this you could really sleep a lot of people here. 8. I will mention for mobility purposes. The main stairs are ez to navigate bc the steps are small. The stairs to the 3rd floor room are a little steep. Just FYI.

Nine of us came to town for a Bruins/Stars game. I was in charge of finding a place that could accommodate all of us. Upon seeing the pictures for the Roux House, I immediately wanted to stay there. Chris was great and very easy to communicate with. He was very patient with my questions and flux in the number of people. Upon arriving, this house did not disappoint. It was very clean, had several cool features and enough beds to accommodate us. The house layout allowed for us to hang together but also gave us space when needed. The suite upstairs was perfect for those that are part of a large group but still want some privacy/quiet time. The only thing I might recommend would be maybe also using a liner for the shower in the suite bath. There are a few stores nearby for quick supplies and some great restaurants in the arts district. Downtown Dallas was a short Uber/Lyft ride away. This house is perfect for any groups and the cost is well worth the money.

This is a beautiful historic home. Everything was spotless. The beds are comfortable. The traffic and trolley are loud at night, but there are two portable fans at the house that you can use for blocking out the noise. We went during July, so it was hot, but all three floors were cool and comfortable. The owner left plenty of toiletries to use, which is awesome. It is a 20-25 minute drive to DFW airport. The owner left plenty of detailed instructions and was available for questions. We would definitely stay here again!

I made the arrangements for our team to stay here while they were in town for a conference. Being the middleman, I found it very easy to work with Christopher. The team gave rave reviews for the property. It was great to have a community space for them to gather and debrief their time at the conference. That suite in the attic was a highlight for the two ladies who shared that area.

Myself and several colleagues were in Dallas for a conference. The location of the house was a short distance from the Sheraton Conference Center and restaurants and shops in the Bishop Arts District. We had trouble getting the lock to open when we first arrived at the house, but the owner was extremely responsive and got us in the house as soon as possible. The house was clean, and the pictures in the listing were accurate. We had plenty of room to spread out when we needed to get some work done. There were also times we all needed to work together, and the living room and dining room were great spaces for everyone to come together. Overall, we had a great experience.

From the beginning of our reservation it was really smooth the host reached out to me with instructions and a very warm greeting. The house is beautiful in a safe quiet neighborhood in a central location for travel convenience to the airport and popular attractions. Check in and checkout is simple! I highly recommend this location for mature adults and families. The home gives the essence of NOLA old BOLA we loved our stay as the host is gracious and accommodating

This was an awesome stay for me and my family/friends for a convention at the Kay Bailey Convention Center. There was plenty of room for all of us! Chris was quick in his response for an unusual event. The washer went out and I was pleasantly impressed that he had the washer checked out and replaced within hours. We were in Dallas for a conference, bringing our staff, and The Roux House totally met our needs. It was very clean, beds comfortable, and the photos and descriptions were accurate. We didn't really cook there, but the kitchen is amazingly stocked. We had a bit of a challenge initially with the door code, but Chris was very responsive and on it. He even took the time to call me at one point to ensure all was well. Should you find yourself in Dallas and need a place with 5 bedrooms, I'd highly recommend The Roux House.

The property is the perfect place to stay if you come to experience the downtown Dallas area. The house is spacious and beautiful. Our family came to Dallas for a family wedding. We spent a cozy weekend here in January with friends and it was terrific. My husband is an amateur chef and was surprised at how well equipped the kitchen was. The house is very cute and comfortable inside and was a perfect small group setting. The only caveat is that the house is located in an "up-and-coming" neighborhood on a main street with lots of traffic. You won't want to go out walking in the evenings. Bring earbuds for those who sleep on the street side of the house. Neither of these issues were a problem for our crew because we either stayed inside the whole time or drove to the nearby Bishop Arts District, which was super cute and has great restaurants. Highly recommend!

My family traveled from many cities across the US to meet up in Dallas to spend Father's Day together. The house was great, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a Sunday feast. On Saturday, we took the streetcar to visit the Dallas Aquarium. The streetcar is free, plus we didn't need to worry about driving or parking, a real bonus for those of us from New York!

A group of coworkers all stayed here for a conference that was at the OMNI. Although we didn't use the public transport, we did get uber's regularly and it was $7-$10 everytime we went somewhere (for a large group). I loved that each of us had our own bed. The beds were super comfortable. Location was great and easy to get to. Restaurant up the street, LaComida was AMAZING - highly recommend. Check in process/communication was super easy! Five stars!

10 of us stayed at the Roux House for a martial arts tournament at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and have our own beds. The kitchen was well appointed and we had family style meals at the large table. Beds were comfy, linens were clean, and there were plenty of towels. The exterior may give you pause, but the interior has been renovated. The host is very responsive to questions and incredibly helpful. Overall it was a lovely stay in an updated older home with all the best quirks (squeaky floors, lavish staircase, latching windows, etc.) that only added to its charm.

The house is very large older home on a very busy street. We had a group of 8 that fit comfortably. The furniture and furnishings were very nice. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well.

Neither of these issues were a problem for our crew because we either stayed inside the whole time or drove to the nearby Bishop Arts District, which was super cute and has great restaurants. We spent a cozy weekend here in January with friends and it was terrific. My husband is an amateur chef and was surprised at how well equipped the kitchen was. The house is very cute and comfortable inside and was a perfect small group setting. The only caveat is that the house is located in an "up-and-coming" neighborhood on a main street with lots of traffic. You won't want to go out walking in the evenings. Bring earbuds for those who sleep on the street side of the house. The host was very welcoming and quick to respond to questions or concerns. The home was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed in the kitchen/bar area. It is in close proximity to so many good places to eat and shop and just a quick drive to downtown.
