VERY DISAPPOINTING Hotel not as advertised rooms need updated tea & coffee in a cuboard with no light, light in wardrobe didnt work, bathroom claustrophobic, had to leave all curtains closed as windows dirty and no net up so anyone could see in from across street, it says it has a bar & restaurant we never seen bar as they said it was only open 1 night a week and restaurant a small cafe next door and closes at 2pm sorry but definitely not one we would go back too

Kirketon rooms and staff were fantastic. However the back section of the building hosts functions and parties. As we left the building in the early evening blackjack tables were being brought into the back section. When we returned later in the night the party was in full swing. People spilling out on the street having a disagreement about something looking like they were about to punch on. The noise kept going into the early hours of the morning. Accomodation wise it’s fantastic just check if there’s a function on before you book.

On the whole it was a good stay..however, there used to be a quiet upscale bar on premises. There is now a Function Center for rent. On 2 nights the noise level from these functions is unacceptably loud in my room ( rm 309)going on until 2am one night and 1 am the following night. Management really needs to address this issue as it is really damaging the hotel brand. I have been a repeat guest for several years now..I’m not sure if I will continue if this issue is not resolved

The staff were nice, although we didn’t have much interaction with them. The room was clean, bed firm and they have a stocked mini bar. No lift, but we were aware of that when booking and it only has two upper floors.

The room was below standard. Bathroom had mould on all surfaces and the shower curtain has never been washed!!! Has a BROTHEL vibe about it with mirrors everywhere. Everything is extremely old and worn, furniture damaged. Extremely noisy, can hear all noise from other guests. No lift and no assistance with luggage. Off site parking was ridiculous price. No kitchen or restaurant and nearby cafes were very low quality. Extremely dissatisfied, such a waste of time and money.

This was our second stay because it is close to st vincents hospital but unfortunately i will not book this again. All the milk in the fridge was out of date . I was going in for surgery and had to have a pre op shower and the towel had something stuck all over , no hygiene what so ever. When it was hung up the staff would of seen it as it was stuck in bunches. Quite disgusting. Told reception but nothing was done about it . Will not stay again

*Pros:* 1. Close to CBD Fringe, Restaurants and Public Transport 2. Friendly staff. 3. ⁠Comfortable bed and good sets of pillows *Cons:* 1. The shower recess and carpet felt sticky underfoot. 2. ⁠The couch has stain marks. 3. ⁠The shower ceiling has yellow stains and damaged which I think when they put the shower head. 4. The amenities were fairly average. I recall they were better quality when I stayed here a decade ago. 5. The wardrobe was musty. Overall a disappointing experience. Room renovation and maintenance is badly needed to bring back the Kirketon that I know from decades ago. I’m not sure if the rest of the rooms are IN the same state. I often travel to Sydney for work and I wouldn’t mind staying at the Kirketon Hotel again if the room I will be getting is better than what I had previously.

The inclusion of a free breakfast each morning at the adjacent’Faved’ cafe was great. The room was clean & had all the amenities required. The staff were helpful. Having a room along the side of the building made it peaceful.

This was the dirtiest hotel I have stayed in. The bathroom basin didn’t drain, the carpets were dirty, and all of the furniture was in poor condition. No staff at checkout, left my room card with a cleaner. I could hear full conversations from the guests in the room above me. Terrible quality for the price.

Best quality boutique hotel in Sydney which has a convenient location near public transport and restaurant belt. The room was clean and well-equipped. The service was topnotch. I was unwell one day and in bed for most of the day time. I requested a turndown service but didn’t expect to be done as housekeeping staff had already gone but voila the room was made up when I came back from dinner. Thank you for the superb and accommodating service. Kudos to housekeeping and reception staff. You’re all valuable assets to the team.

The woman who served us at the front desk was lovely and very accomodating! The room was quite nice and facilities were good to use, although the air con may need just a slight dust. The nearby parking garage was a very easy walk, the location is great as its so close to the train station, and overall it was a very nice experience! We will definitely be coming here again.

No elevator, only stairs, room was dirty with stains on the bed and lounge, only realised stains inside bed when about to go to sleep, no response from calling reception and after hours number multiple times. Had to go down in the middle of the night to find someone and then only solution was for us to move ourselves to a smaller room (had paid for executive room). The smaller “spare” room then smelt like mildew/mould. Will not be staying here again, based on quality of rooms generally hotel should be 3 stars not 4.

Hotel is very clean but small room with a view of brick wall. Was convenient to train station and a few shops and restaurants but right in the heart of red light district. Not sure I would have gone out alone after dark unless you wanted to party hard. Was walkable to all Sydney sites though and staff was very nice.

Property is few minutes from all the lovely places in sydney, know that its only few minutes from the train station and uber prices from city and back to the hotel is very cheap as well! I'm definitely coming back.

This boutique Hotel is the best around town. I have stayed here several times over the years and has never disappointed. I highly recommend to stay here at the Kirkton hotel i ll be defintely be booking here again. Also recommend their Cafe Jamie's Cafe was a great place to eat.

I was really impressed with this lovely little hotel. It wasn't perfectly polished in every space, but it was clean and tidy. Everything worked in the room, plenty of bedding - actually the king bed in our Superior Room was maybe a little too firm, but that's my only complaint. Just be aware there isn't a lift in the building, so be ready for a few stairs. Otherwise we had a lovely stay. Oh - and the cafe attached makes damn good coffee!
