Small but cozy hotel, friendly and helpful staff. The food is amazing , price is fair according to the area , roof top pool and dinning area is gorgeous. The only down side is the beach in front of hotel is not accessible due to too many reefs.

Absolutely obsessed with this place + special shout out to Ann, Rodrigo, and Julio!!! We went here to celebrate my 30th birthday and my husband's 32nd birthday, and I am SO happy we chose this hotel for a milestone like this. We were previously considering all inclusives, but then thought a boutique hotel away from the nice might be a bit more special – and it was exactly that!! There are SO many things we loved about this place, I'll list my highlights here: - Amazing, friendly, and very willing to help staff + service - The rooftop pool and views are just breathtakingly unreal - That view accompanied with the delicious food + helpful service is truly unmatched! - We were upgraded to a gorgeous premium oceanfront room from the deluxe oceanfront room – and it was SO worth it (we had a bathtub in our balcony) and precious quite views of the ocean from our room, which was unmatched to wake up to - The aroma in the room that we could pick before hand was such a special touch of personalization – we miss it now that we're back! - The reception staff was SO helpful and generous in helping me and my husband plan small surprises (decor, wine, cake, etc.) for each other – it truly made us feel special and well taken care of - Yes, the property is secluded and its a bit of a rough drive to get in & out, but if peace and quite is what you're looking for – don't doubt this place for a second!! We will definitely come back! Thank you thank you!

The photos don't do this hotel justice. It's incredible, the rooftop pool is amazing. The staff treats guests like royalty. The beach is a cute small section , great for watching people stroll by. Massage was so good, too! Rooms are beautiful and the hammocks are so fun. Close enough to several other resorts to take in their charms - bars, restaurants, vibes, as well. One note: They sell Beach Club day passes, so children were in the ground level pool, as well as on the beach area. Will definitely return!

We loved our stay and recommend a room with the ocean front view. Our room was beautiful, the amenities were fantastic and the service/staff was excellent. We enjoyed the private beach, their massage services and their roof top infinity pool. Our stay here definitely made our trip to Playa del Carmen worth while and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. We intend to visit again in the near future and we believe this will be our go to hotel going forward. 5 stars!

We just got back from our trip to Mexico and stay at this beautiful place for six nights! all the pictures online look exactly the same in person. The staff goes above and beyond for their guest.( probably the best staff the way we were taken care of of any hotel we've ever stayed at) they truly want you to have an amazing experience. The rooftop bar/ pool was by far our favorite and if you go, please ask for Raul he's the best waiter we've ever had and will make you smile each time you see him

The hotel is fairly new and in excellent condition. The staff was also very helpful, friendly and professional. Our room was large and comfortable. If you're looking for a place to relax and just stay put, it may be a good option; however Mvngata is not walkable to anything, and it costs $40 roundtrip by taxi to reach Playa del Carmen (the closest town). The hotel has 2 restaurants, but only one seemed to be in operation. The food was good but the service was a bit inconsistent. There are almost no other restaurant options close by, as most other resorts in the area are all-inclusive. The beach is nice, but not really suited for swimming due to the rocky shoreline and sea urchins. The rooftop pool is attractive, but rather small, and it's very windy on the roof which again makes swimming uncomfortable.

Love all about this hotel , from the design to the excellent customer service! Delicious food , Spa was great! They gave us an upgrade to ocean view suite that was beautiful the room was very spacious and comfortable! I will definitely come back and recommend this hotel to my friends and family! 5 stars Gracias Julio, Claudia del Spa y todas las personas maravillosas que nos asistieron en nuestro estadía

A beautiful and VERY clean hotel. The shuttle driver from Cancun Shuttle had a difficult time finding it when we were dropped off as it was late at night. We were greeted by the professional and friendly Fernanda. During our stay, Fernanda made sure we were having and exceptional time at the hotel and even offered to have the restaurants make special meals for my girlfriend who has multiple food allergies. Julio was also very helpful with our stay and very friendly. The beach is perfect for lounging. Multiple chairs are set up along the beach with drink service. There are swimming beaches on both adjacent properties as the beach in front of the hotel has coral reef very close to shore. The rooftop restaurant has a beautiful view with an infinity pool. Taxis will be needed to get into Playa Del Carmen (10 minutes). The rooms were very spacious, modern and exceptionally clean. I do think I'd opt to get and ocean front room next time though (no specific reason, the room we had was excellent). The TVs were Roku so we could Netflix and chill and night. This beautiful hotel is definitely a great place to stay if you want a quiet and relaxing stay with out the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen. No harassment from sales people, no booming bass music to be heard, awesome staff, and relaxing environment made the Mvngata Hotel a place we'd definitely stay again.

Wonderful, cozy, and luxurious beachfront boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and mine even had its own jacuzzi on the terrace with a stunning ocean view. Just two things to note: The beach directly in front of the hotel isn't the best, but if you walk 1-2 minutes, it gets much better. Also, if you plan to visit the touristy downtown area of Playa del Carmen, it's about a 15-minute drive.

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Hotel ist noch in einem sehr guten Zustand. Der Service und die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter sind erstklassig! Sehr schönes ZImmer Ocean View, sehr komfortabel und geräumig. Das Frühstück ist absolut ausgezeichnet. Leider ist der Strand felsig, so dass es fast nunmöglich ist ins Wasser zu gehen. Das tolle Rooftop mit Bar und schönem Pool ist auch „Nicht-Hotlegästen“ zugänglich, so dass wir zum Teil keine Liegen bekommen haben. Leider wurde es auch dadurch zum Teil sehr laut. Das Publikum passte dann nicht zum Hotel.

We absolutely enjoyed our time here. The room service is top quality. Every time we came back to the room it felt we clean like the first day we checked in. It’s such a comfortable room! We had a beautiful view and the put a little bed for our 7 year old son without even asking. The pool was so much fun to use, we were the only ones in there! The beach area has sea urchins but it was still enjoyable because my son liked to play on the sand. We rented a car and always had a parking spot when we arrived (even past midnight). Thank you so much for helping us celebrate our ten year anniversary. This is 100% child friendly boutique hotel. Sign the waiver and you can bring your chile to the rooftop, you just have to make sure to be by your child at all times as agreed on the waiver. Very pleasant 7 day vacation. There’s a taco spot a block from the hotel we really enjoyed.

A beautiful and VERY clean hotel. The shuttle driver from Cancun Shuttle had a difficult time finding it when we were dropped off as it was late at night. We were greeted by the professional and friendly Fernanda. During our stay, Fernanda made sure we were having and exceptional time at the hotel and even offered to have the restaurants make special meals for my girlfriend who has multiple food allergies. Julio was also very helpful with our stay and very friendly. The beach is perfect for lounging. Multiple chairs are set up along the beach with drink service. There are swimming beaches on both adjacent properties as the beach in front of the hotel has coral reef very close to shore. The rooftop restaurant has a beautiful view with an infinity pool. Taxis will be needed to get into Playa Del Carmen (10 minutes). The rooms were very spacious, modern and exceptionally clean. I do think I'd opt to get and ocean front room next time though (no specific reason, the room we had was excellent). The TVs were Roku so we could Netflix and chill and night. This beautiful hotel is definitely a great place to stay if you want a quiet and relaxing stay with out the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen. No harassment from sales people, no booming bass music to be heard, awesome staff, and relaxing environment made the Mvngata Hotel a place we'd definitely stay again.

Taxis will be needed to get into Playa Del Carmen (10 minutes). The rooms were very spacious, modern and exceptionally clean. I do think I'd opt to get and ocean front room next time though (no specific reason, the room we had was excellent). The TVs were Roku so we could Netflix and chill and night. This beautiful hotel is definitely a great place to stay if you want a quiet and relaxing stay with out the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen. No harassment from sales people, no booming bass music to be heard, awesome staff, and relaxing environment made the Mvngata Hotel a place we'd definitely stay again.

Absolutely obsessed with this place + special shout out to Ann, Rodrigo, and Julio!!! We went here to celebrate my 30th birthday and my husband's 32nd birthday, and I am SO happy we chose this hotel for a milestone like this. We were previously considering all inclusives, but then thought a boutique hotel away from the nice might be a bit more special – and it was exactly that!! The room was amazing! The hotel was very quiet when we visited, which we did not mind at all. The rooftop restaurant and pool is amazing. The room service was great. All of the staff were very accommodating. The bridal suite room is worth every penny… having the hot tub outside on the balcony was the best part! I like how the hotel offered airport transportation, it made our first trip to Mexico feel very safe and secure. You can call the hotel ahead of your stay through WhatsApp, and they can arrange your airport transportation and they can also arrange any excursions that you want to do. It was a very peaceful trip.

Beautiful spacious beach-front rooms - except that there was no privacy on the balconies. This was awkward - especially with the “romantic” bathtubs on some. I mostly didn’t feel comfortable using my balcony if the couples next door were using theirs as it felt like an invasion of their privacy. Weird that they wouldn’t just have a better divider between the balconies. Overall it’s a lovely quiet boutique hotel but very pricey - as is almost everything in Playa del Carmen. With no transportation at all it felt particularly pricey to get to town to shop or walk around (about $50 Cad). The rooftop restaurant does have some live music but it all shuts down at 9pm and so it is very quiet in the evenings unless you leave the property and this requires driving or a taxi to town. The food was hit or miss. Some really excellent dishes and a few not so much.

Love all about this hotel , from the design to the excellent customer service! Delicious food , Spa was great! They gave us an upgrade to ocean view suite that was beautiful the room was very spacious and comfortable! Wonderful, cozy, and luxurious beachfront boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and mine even had its own jacuzzi on the terrace with a stunning ocean view. Just two things to note: The beach directly in front of the hotel isn't the best, but if you walk 1-2 minutes, it gets much better. Also, if you plan to visit the touristy downtown area of Playa del Carmen, it's about a 15-minute drive.

I recently had an amazing stay at the Mvngata Hotel. I stayed for about three weeks, and the staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and directly on the beach. It was great to wake up and go to sleep to the sounds of the ocean. It honestly felt magical. My first week there, they had a morning meditation series on the rooftop which was a great start to the day. The food and drinks were solid, with breakfast being my favorite. But it was the staff that made the experience exceptional. From my booking, they reached out to learn of any specific requirements. They checked in regularly to ask if I needed anything and how they could make my stay better. They were friendly, professional, and very welcoming. They even upgraded my room when they learned I was celebrating a professional milestone. I’m now a big fan, and this is one of my new favorite properties. A special thank you to Ann, Nicanor, Rodrigo, and Julio for taking exceptional care of me. I will certainly be back!

This hotel is amazing! Our room with bathtub on the balcony was amazing! And the view was lovely, we could see the sunrise from bed! The staff was super friendly! Especially at the reception, and Ann was a superstar! The hotel only has a few rooms and is very calm, perfect for some relaxing days. Would love to go back!

We just got back from our trip to Mexico and stay at this beautiful place for six nights! all the pictures online look exactly the same in person. The staff goes above and beyond for their guest.( probably the best staff the way we were taken care of of any hotel we've ever stayed at) they truly want you to have an amazing experience. The rooftop bar/ pool was by far our favorite and if you go, please ask for Raul he's the best waiter we've ever had and will make you smile each time you see him

The hotel is fairly new and in excellent condition. The staff was also very helpful, friendly and professional. Our room was large and comfortable. If you're looking for a place to relax and just stay put, it may be a good option; however Mvngata is not walkable to anything, and it costs $40 roundtrip by taxi to reach Playa del Carmen (the closest town). The hotel has 2 restaurants, but only one seemed to be in operation. The food was good but the service was a bit inconsistent. There are almost no other restaurant options close by, as most other resorts in the area are all-inclusive. The beach is nice, but not really suited for swimming due to the rocky shoreline and sea urchins. The rooftop pool is attractive, but rather small, and it's very windy on the roof which again makes swimming uncomfortable.

Mvngata was incredible! The rooms look exactly like the photos which is rare. The staff was so accommodating, going above and beyond whenever we needed anything. The food was great and the waitstaff knew us two days into our stay. My kids loved them and e front desk staff, Claudia, Fernanda and Kin were spectacular. The pools are smaller than they seem but spent all of our time at the beach so we didn’t care. We will DEFINITELY return!

Absolutely obsessed with this place + special shout out to Ann, Rodrigo, and Julio!!! We went here to celebrate my 30th birthday and my husband's 32nd birthday, and I am SO happy we chose this hotel for a milestone like this. We were previously considering all inclusives, but then thought a boutique hotel away from the nice might be a bit more special – and it was exactly that!! There are SO many things we loved about this place, I'll list my highlights here: - Amazing, friendly, and very willing to help staff + service - The rooftop pool and views are just breathtakingly unreal - That view accompanied with the delicious food + helpful service is truly unmatched! - We were upgraded to a gorgeous premium oceanfront room from the deluxe oceanfront room – and it was SO worth it (we had a bathtub in our balcony) and precious quite views of the ocean from our room, which was unmatched to wake up to - The aroma in the room that we could pick before hand was such a special touch of personalization – we miss it now that we're back! - The reception staff was SO helpful and generous in helping me and my husband plan small surprises (decor, wine, cake, etc.) for each other – it truly made us feel special and well taken care of - Yes, the property is secluded and its a bit of a rough drive to get in & out, but if peace and quite is what you're looking for – don't doubt this place for a second!! This was our first time in Mexico and we were looking for a lounging, beach experience. What we weren’t looking for was something I’ve seen depicted, or that I’ve heard about: the overstuffed “Sandals” type resort with all-inclusive cheap alcohol and boring food. We didn’t want it to feel like a time share we were visiting, or we were getting a cliche American experience in Mexico. What Mvngata does well, it excels at. It is a small, boutique oasis with only 20 total rooms. A very sought after restaurant and environment, many people from other resorts will back the bottom floor with a day pass so they can get away from the bustle of their own resort. But as someone staying at the hotel, you get premium access to everything they have to offer. We were picked up at the airport with ease in a private SUV (35 minute drive that we enjoyed round trip). Our room was enormous with an ocean view, crisp and cool with the A/C along with a stocked mini bar and hammock on the balcony. Breakfast and lunch were absolutely delicious and the food was Mexican cuisine, but with high end flair. Beach access is wonderful, though to swim in the ocean you have to walk five minutes north or south to more sandy areas (a non issue). But having said that, I would recommend the rooftop - my wife and I lounged by the pool for the extent of our visit as it looks out on the water. Adan was very helpful at the restaurant, and Roberto helped schedule a private beach dinner for me and my wife!

The hotel is fairly new and in excellent condition. The staff was also very helpful, friendly and professional. Our room was large and comfortable. If you're looking for a place to relax and just stay put, it may be a good option; however Mvngata is not walkable to anything, and it costs $40 roundtrip by taxi to reach Playa del Carmen (the closest town). The hotel has 2 restaurants, but only one seemed to be in operation. The food was good but the service was a bit inconsistent. There are almost no other restaurant options close by, as most other resorts in the area are all-inclusive. The beach is nice, but not really suited for swimming due to the rocky shoreline and sea urchins. The rooftop pool is attractive, but rather small, and it's very windy on the roof which again makes swimming uncomfortable.

Great quality hotel rooms, nice ocean view, walkable distant to the beach. Food options good but could be better as it was a bit expensive for the quality of the food. We ended up eating out for lunch and dinner for all 4 days. Having a rental car helped us to go out and explore, otherwise, it was a bit out from the main road. We wanted a quiet and private time together so the place offered that.

A beautiful and VERY clean hotel. The shuttle driver from Cancun Shuttle had a difficult time finding it when we were dropped off as it was late at night. We were greeted by the professional and friendly Fernanda. During our stay, Fernanda made sure we were having and exceptional time at the hotel and even offered to have the restaurants make special meals for my girlfriend who has multiple food allergies. Julio was also very helpful with our stay and very friendly. The beach is perfect for lounging. Multiple chairs are set up along the beach with drink service. There are swimming beaches on both adjacent properties as the beach in front of the hotel has coral reef very close to shore. The rooftop restaurant has a beautiful view with an infinity pool. Taxis will be needed to get into Playa Del Carmen (10 minutes). The rooms were very spacious, modern and exceptionally clean. I do think I'd opt to get and ocean front room next time though (no specific reason, the room we had was excellent). The TVs were Roku so we could Netflix and chill and night. This beautiful hotel is definitely a great place to stay if you want a quiet and relaxing stay with out the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen. No harassment from sales people, no booming bass music to be heard, awesome staff, and relaxing environment made the Mvngata Hotel a place we'd definitely stay again.

Just two things to note: The beach directly in front of the hotel isn't the best, but if you walk 1-2 minutes, it gets much better. Also, if you plan to visit the touristy downtown area of Playa del Carmen, it's about a 15-minute drive.

My husband and I stayed in Mvngata for 4 nights. We upgraded our room to an oceanfront one on the third floor, and it was a spectacular view to enjoy every day. The food on the roof top restaurant was terrific - tacos are the best I have ever had. The beach in nice and clean, but has rocks.

We stayed just one night on the way to a festival at the Hard Rock and we’ll stay one more night on the other end of our trip. Wish we had a whole week here, and we’ll definitely be back. Beautiful accommodations, wonderful staff, and amazingly comfortable and spacious room with a gorgeous view. The food at the rooftop restaurant was fantastic.

DONT STAY HERE!! I go to boutique hotels in Mexico twice a year. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Terrible customer service, terrible amenities, awkward small pool and poor beachfront. I paid for five nights and left after one. Of course, they denied any refund at all.

My solo vacation at this hotel was outstanding. I wanted a quiet and peaceful vacation. The staff and location exceeded my expectations! Everyday I was recognized by name, treated with such kindness and made to feel welcome. The front desk helped me with any questions or issues. Ann was absolutely amazing. She loves her job, and it definitely shows in her warm and caring attitude. The restaurant spoiled me daily at the rooftop pool with excellent food and daily help reserving private covered beach bed due to my vitiligo and sun sensitivity conditions. Sandra was a godsend! She was my most favorite person I met during my stay. This lady looked after me helped reserve beach bed and kept me hydrated and well taken care of. She actually made me coconut water from a coconut she bought from a vendor on her way to work! The spa services I had were excellent! Claudia, Daisy and Pedro each gave me separate spa treatments and they really care about you and you will be very pleased. The whole restaurant staff (victor, Rafael, Sandra and more made dining excellent! Food was great, room spacious and gorgeous with a beautiful view and I was consistently met with great hospitality every day of my vacation. Also, I got to know the gift shop employee and bought some lovely items. She has a great selection of items and very friendly. Five stars for the room, rooftop pool and restaurant, beach area and entire staff. Muchos gracias for everything.

Claudia, Daisy and Pedro each gave me separate spa treatments and they really care about you and you will be very pleased. The whole restaurant staff (victor, Rafael, Sandra and more made dining excellent! Food was great, room spacious and gorgeous with a beautiful view and I was consistently met with great hospitality every day of my vacation. Also, I got to know the gift shop employee and bought some lovely items. She has a great selection of items and very friendly. Five stars for the room, rooftop pool and restaurant, beach area and entire staff. Muchos gracias for everything.
