Disappointed that when we arrived Friday evening we were unable to use the bar or the restaurant as it was closed for a private event!! The man in charge was very unhelpful even rude just saying it was closed for a private event !! I asked where should we go and he just shrugged his shoulders! Ended up next door in the ambassador hotel mush better and spent my money there instead of our hotel !

Very European style hotel. Not much on the amenity side and no air conditioning. They have done what they can with an older building to make it comfortable. Staff is great very professional. My only negative comment is with Zurich being a major business and tourist hub I would like to have had breakfast available to me earlier than 7 am. Most hotels I have stayed in offer a 6 am start time. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Lovely property close to the limmat River. Room was perfect for a single guest and beautifully decorated. Bathroom had good fittings and good shower. No Aircon but they provided a fan. I took the duvet off and used just the cover as a blanket.

An amazing spot, just around the corner from the lake. Dont expect a cold room in the summer as we got there and the room did not have AC. Another note is that we ended up missing dinner one night because the kitchen closed early. Be there before 930 if you want food

Excellent location and wonderful staff. Property was a bit dated but could be considered "charming". It was hot and muggy so lack of AC or a fan in the room made it a bit uncomfortable. Overall would stay here again.

It was a pleasant stay with everything available that is required for a solo traveler. The location was perfect and just a street away from the lake. It felt safe to walk back at night. The only thing missing was sufficient fans or air conditioning in the summer.

Nice area in Zurich with plenty of restaurants, cafe and shops around. Friendly reception personnel and hotel is well maintained. The rooms are decorated in a Victorian era theme with striped wall paper on walls which needs repairing in some places. Bathroom was comfortable, bed was ok, the restaurant breakfast was good and the staff as well yet it’s definitely not worth 250 euros a night.

We stayed in Hotel Europe for three nights - three fantastic nights! From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out we loved every moment of our stay. The staff were extraordinarily welcoming and genuinely friendly and engaged at all times. The room was very clean and comfortable with good amenities. The WIFI was spotty at times but mostly the first night - it was ok after that. The elevator is tiny but so quaint. It works perfectly well and that’s all we wanted. We had zero issues with our stay and have zero problem recommending it. Fantastic staff, fantastic room, fantastic location…fantastic experience!

Made to order eggs/omelettes, smoked salmon, fruit, coffee, and pastries. Very close to main attractions and transportation. Highly recommend!

Despite emails from myself to Hotel Europe inquiring about a third bed and cost and receiving an email reply that did not mention a charge, Hotel Europe decided to charge me a significant amount for a roll away bed. I showed them the emails and the receptionist working the morning of June 15 was rude and dismissive. No reason to stay here when other hotels are nicer, friendlier and don’t come up with hidden costs.

We were satisfied with the hotel room facilities, but there was an accident. The circuit breaker of our room tripped around 10 pm. Front desk was already closed. I couldn't get through on the phone. The hotel was final accommodation for our trip, so we were so sad.

I was very disappointed with the hotel during my stay. The room was not pleasant, it was quite dark and the shades created a weird orange color in the room, the room did not have proper air conditioning but rather a fan, the reception closed in the night and there was no staff available to help, in the morning I asked for a dental kit and they had run out, and the breakfast buffet was very simple and not good quality ingredients. I would understand all this from a three star hotel but not a four star hotel at a considerable cost. I would not recommend anyone to stay here except with the simplest expectations, and I certainly did not enjoy my stay.

The staff is amazing and super friendly. Hotel located in a great spot for walking about and getting the tram. Breakfast was nice and they accommodated for me being gluten free ( so had gluten free bread each morning already waiting for me).

Really nice hotel. Great breakfast and I had dinner one night in the restaurant, Max & Otto’s, which was terrific! So convenient and near everything. I would stay here again.
