My wife and I had an amazing stay. The resort is absolutely beautiful and never felt crowded. We had a beachfront swim-up room with a gorgeous view, and it was the perfect way to relax. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always made us feel welcome. The beach itself wasn’t the best because of the seaweed (a common issue across the area), but the resort handled it and everything else wonderfully. The property is large and spread out—it feels like a mile from one end to the other—but the constant shuttle service with golf carts makes it easy to get around. We never had to wait more than a minute or two. Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway with excellent service!

We had a wonderful week here. The facilities and service was excellent. The beach is not swimmable but there is a natural salt water pool and plenty of swimming pools. We never had trouble finding a good spot to sit by the beach or pool. The food was fine, better than most resort food but I would t call it gourmet. Our room had some issues (broken shower, broken door) which were addressed promptly. The vibe here is friendly and relaxed, this is not a party place, which we appreciated. Highly recommmend the horseback riding experience (on site, extra charge) And the trip to the beach club (included). Airport transportation was a breeze as well. One note, bring cash if you don’t want to pay exhorbitant atm and exchange fees at the on site atm. The gift shops are also absurdly overpriced (I paid $40 for a small bottle of sunblock) so bring any necessities with you. Other than thah we had a great time and will be back!

Was pushed to book with our concierge for activities but the excursions the concierge book are the extra cost ones. They forgot to tell us that the excursions included with our package had to be booked at the check in area. Room was clean. Most staff were nice. Had to make a reservation every night for dinner, couldn’t walk in to a restaurant. On our first day there we sat down to make “reservations” for our dinners for the week and a lot of the restaurants were booked until like 9:00 or 9:30 or not available at all. The cenote was closed. You had to pay extra for the cabana beds. There is a lot of walking to destinations within the resort, just a tip for those who have trouble walking long distances.

This was our first time visiting El Dorado Royale, and we were extremely satisfied with our stay. The property is very well maintained and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food was good, with a wide variety of places to dine at. It would be nice if they had a late-night snack bar on the Royale side as the pizzeria had inconsistent hours and only offered pizza. The resort was busy but still felt quiet, which was nice. The Royale side doesn't have the greatest beach access, but there were plenty of loungers and cabanas to enjoy (Casitas and Generations have better beach access). The pools were well-kept and clean but were very cold! The main pool was always busy, but there are quieter pools throughout the resort if that's what you're looking for. Overall, we had an amazing time, and we will be returning.

Property was always clean, they cleaned the room twice a day and the mini fridge was always stocked. Food was great. Lots of options. Entertainment staff were fun and engaging. Transportation to and from the resort was easy with Lomas. Did wish they did the on site xenote tours more than twice a week because we were unable to attend due to trip arrival and departures.

We came for a third trip and enjoyed it just as much as our first time visiting. It is a large property, but there are shuttle carts around to take you where you want to go. We liked the small freshwater pool behind La Isla- we haven’t had that at other places. The staff is friendly and the property is beautiful. We really appreciated the More Inclusive addition now that includes transportation and many excursions to choose from that are already included - we loved the Catamaran/Maroma Beach one. We plan to rerun again soon!

Fantastic! Great staff who are very friendly. Lots of dining options. Food was good, but Fuentes dining theater was excellent. Must do! Maroma beach excursion was fantastic. Transportation to and from airport excursions was provided. Spa was phenomenal and Housekeeping was amazing as well! Some complaints include the app used to reserve things kept crashing and not loading for me along with the pools being cold and not heated. Lastly reserving the more inclusive excursions needs to be done ASAP as we did it the morning after we got there (told it would be fine to do) and were not able to do some of the excursions.

We stayed at El Dorado Royale in a beautiful 2nd floor beachfront suite overlooking the ocean. This was our first visit to this property but one of many visits to Mexico. Check-in was a breeze and took less than 5 minutes. The property is very large and maintained extremely well by the employees. They have golf carts to take you around the property, although we enjoyed walking most times as there are lighted paths that are perfect for walking along the ocean. There is sandy beach area, with Bali beds and lounger chairs. Highly recommended bringing water shoes if you plan to be in the ocean as this resort is near the reef and not the best for being barefoot. The food was good for an all-inclusive resort, although I was disappointed with the quality of the sweet breads, which Mexico is typically great at. They have 24-hour room service, which we ordered on our last night; the food arrived in 30 minutes. We were pleased with the quality of the food and the fast service. Make sure you call in your room service order rather than using the web app. The daily activities and shows were nice, although I would have liked to see a place for dancing and more karaoke. The room was very beautiful, clean and maintained well by the housekeeping staff throughout our stay. The staff members at this resort are fantastic; restaurant servers, Leo and Sheila, were very kind and provided excellent dining service. Everyone we encountered was courteous and friendly. From arrival and the two days that followed where excellent .. Booking for excursions was excellent. Communication using the app was easy and fast service with housekeeping and refilling the fridge. Second time service at Santa Fe restaurant was disappointing, slow service and cold food. Service at most restaurants didn’t really accommodate for a big group of seven people . Cats on the resort was a surprise cute but become annoying as they fight as well and some guests tend to feed them making them come back. Breakfast buffet was amazing and service was excellent. Pool was dirty for the rest of our stay tho not so appealing or enjoyable.

Water went out for one day, no one seemed to care. Not beach front property. Drive you around in golf carts when most places you can walk but are not informed of this. Water doesn’t drain well on showers or sinks. Staff was friendly. Main pool was dirty & water was murky.

During our stay we experienced multiple problems. To begin we were told we were receiving a “free upgrade” this put us in building 51. That was the furthest location away from all the activities we were there to attend. Although the shuttle service started at 7am it was very difficult to find one by our location that early in the morning. The first day we experienced no hot water and issues with our safe. The second day the hot water seemed to work but when we returned from the pool our room had no power. The front desk was notified and power returned not long after. Later that evening I was in the bathroom area of the room and there was a large bug that had made its way in to our room. I believe this bug to be a cockroach. We were able to capture this on film. The following day I did complain to the front desk yet again to explain our frustration. We were then given another room that was what we had paid for. The location was much more ideal. However, this room still did not have hot water. This seemed to be a known issue and yet we were still put in this building. The room had an odor. I know realize it was an odor from the mugginess. There was no fan in the room so the moisture of showering and wet clothing did not absorb. Our bed sheets were wet every night in the new room. We called for our sheets to be changed at least once and should have requested this each time it

We got a room on the first floor of the building number 7. I imagine one of the worst buildings and one of the worst rooms, cause otherwise I cannot justify the positive reviews. The building was old, the room even older. It is in a desperate need of renovation. Long list of small issues that we tried to fix but eventually gave up. Old furniture that is falling apart and hasn’t been clean in a while. The room was very dark and one of the main light switches malfunctioned at first (“it just needs a little knock”, the bellboy said) and died for good on day three. The safe stopped locking on day 2, and after it got fixed on day 3 after several desperate calls to send someone to fix it, it stopped working completely on day 4. The room smelled of dust and dumpiness and old age. The toilet handle didn’t work, so the toilet didn’t flush. After someone came and fixed it, it stopped working again on the same day. By that time we reached a different level of enlightenment, hence just moved the lead and manually pressed the button inside the toilet tank to flush. It worked mostly fine. Our room was located right by the staircase, and hotel obviously knows nothing about sound-

This was our first time visiting El Dorado Royale, and we were extremely satisfied with our stay. The property is very well maintained and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food was good, with a wide variety of places to dine at. It would be nice if they had a late-night snack bar on the Royale side as the pizzeria had inconsistent hours and only offered pizza. The resort was busy but still felt quiet, which was nice. The Royale side doesn't have the greatest beach access, but there were plenty of loungers and cabanas to enjoy (Casitas and Generations have better beach access). The pools were well-kept and clean but were very cold! The main pool was always busy, but there are quieter pools throughout the resort if that's what you're looking for. Overall, we had an amazing time, and we will be returning.

During our time, there were a few things that happened that did not meet our expectations during our stay. 1. We were not given a schedule of activities upon arrival and had to question numerous people to figure out what to do the day of our arrival. There weren't many people who were willing to provide us a schedule or let us know what activities were available. So we didn't feel like we got as much out of our first day as we could have. 2. The pool had an abnormal amount of bugs in it and white debris in it that looked like disintegrating toilet paper. The pool was full of it, and many people we spoke to commented on it. It made us uncomfortable to be in the pool. 3. Someone must have vomited in the stairwell of our building. When I called the front desk to have someone clean it up, I was transferred numerous times and hung up on. Housekeeping cleaned rooms but kept walking past the pile for a full day. The next day, there were two piles of vomit and a pile of feces in the same hallway. It wasn't until we told our personal concierge about it that anyone did anything to clean up the area. 4. There were dirty cups in our hallway on the first day we arrived that were still there when we left, that housekeeping never cleaned. 5. The service in general from the staff wasn't what we are used to. The staff wasn't as pleasant or helpful as it has been when we stay with other resorts. We won't be staying at Lomas Hospitality resorts again in the future.

We didn’t like the food options. Dinner is reservation only! Room service food is good but no beverage options. Minibar & towels were not restocked daily. Breakfast buffet did not have many options & there is no beach meaning you CANNOT swim in the ocean. Pools need some maintenance. And be prepared for them to try & sell you a membership. My wife and I had an amazing stay. The resort is absolutely beautiful and never felt crowded. We had a beachfront swim-up room with a gorgeous view, and it was the perfect way to relax. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always made us feel welcome. The beach itself wasn’t the best because of the seaweed (a common issue across the area), but the resort handled it and everything else wonderfully. The property is large and spread out—it feels like a mile from one end to the other—but the constant shuttle service with golf carts makes it easy to get around. We never had to wait more than a minute or two. Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway with excellent service!

We had a wonderful week here. The facilities and service was excellent. The beach is not swimmable but there is a natural salt water pool and plenty of swimming pools. We never had trouble finding a good spot to sit by the beach or pool. The food was fine, better than most resort food but I would t call it gourmet. Our room had some issues (broken shower, broken door) which were addressed promptly. The vibe here is friendly and relaxed, this is not a party place, which we appreciated. Highly recommmend the horseback riding experience (on site, extra charge) And the trip to the beach club (included). Airport transportation was a breeze as well. One note, bring cash if you don’t want to pay exhorbitant atm and exchange fees at the on site atm. The gift shops are also absurdly overpriced (I paid $40 for a small bottle of sunblock) so bring any necessities with you. Other than thah we had a great time and will be back!

We had an amazing stay in a beautiful junior swim-up pool with the view of the beach! Food was amazing! Fresh from the ocean and local farms, great room service, margaritas non-stop, and housekeeping twice a day! We can’t wait for our next trip!!

The property is beautiful. I wouldn’t quite call the room as stayed and VIP. The rooms are a little bit outdated the phones and getting assistance to the room can be challenging whatever they let they make up for with the amenities throughout their sister hotels is really beautiful. The staff is nice, but it’s really hard to get someone when you need them.

There were some electrical issues in the room. My husband got a slight shock when plugging in his cell phone charger. The beach was ok, slight seaweed but thats uncontrollable, workers were efficient wirh keeping cleaned up. Dining was meh, breakfast was always good. Italian casitas is definitely better that the villas. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Beautiful resort only downfall for me was the food. Good quality liquor and lots of choices!

We stayed at El Dorado Royale in a beautiful 2nd floor beachfront suite overlooking the ocean. This was our first visit to this property but one of many visits to Mexico. Check-in was a breeze and took less than 5 minutes. The property is very large and maintained extremely well by the employees. They have golf carts to take you around the property, although we enjoyed walking most times as there are lighted paths that are perfect for walking along the ocean. There is sandy beach area, with Bali beds and lounger chairs. Highly recommended bringing water shoes if you plan to be in the ocean as this resort is near the reef and not the best for being barefoot. The food was good for an all-inclusive resort, although I was disappointed with the quality of the sweet breads, which Mexico is typically great at. They have 24-hour room service, which we ordered on our last night; the food arrived in 30 minutes. We were pleased with the quality of the food and the fast service. Make sure you call in your room service order rather than using the web app. The daily activities and shows were nice, although I would have liked to see a place for dancing and more karaoke. The room was very beautiful, clean and maintained well by the housekeeping staff throughout our stay. The staff members at this resort are fantastic; restaurant servers, Leo and Sheila, were very kind and provided excellent dining service. Everyone we encountered was courteous and friendly. Not so good of a stay sliding door to patio didn’t lock I called front desk 3 times maintenance came and tried to wedge door shut I asked how will I go onto the patio he said I don’t know. Reading light on one side of the bed didn’t work. Phone in restroom hanging off the wall mold was in the crack of jacuzzi tub I asked to be transferred to another room but got denied. Alex at the front desk was very rude and unprofessional

Staying at El Dorado Royale was a great experience! My husband and I stayed for a week there. The staffing was fantastic, the food car shuttles were really beneficial on rainy days. The food options are amazing. I really loved the Italian restaurant. All restaurant options were so tasty and delicious. I like the idea of giving a free pass to the water park at Nickelodeon Resort. The transportation was very pleasant since they have taxis that work for the Resort, so it’s easy to get around if you need to go to another location or explore downtown. We will definitely be coming back!

The concierge would not leave us alone and tried to schedule us and charge us for a massage! We never got our vip perks so didnt even get to go to the water park! The bartenders in the martini bar were the best! They were super nice and friendly! Wasnt impressed with the food there and honestly the shops are very expensive

The entire staff was extremely courteous and responsive. The place is huge and you have access to their sister resorts as well. There is a shuttle so it was easy to get around if you don't want to walk. The main pool, wasn't as loud and obnoxious as resort pools can be, the music was tasteful though they they run a volleyball game at one end daily so depending on the guests... There are always drink promotions as the pool as well and drink service around the pool as well as the beach is good. That being said there are tons of smaller pools if you want a more peaceful atmosphere. I for one am a beach person, and my only complaint is that there is no place to swim in the ocean because t they have put cement pilings through the shoreline to temper the waves and prevent them from ruining the beach, I presume. I imagine you could swim past there if you wanted to but I have no I idea what it would be like and there are no lifeguards. The one good thing is that there is a saltwater pool that was carved out at one end of the resort which happened to be outside of our swim-out room so that was perfect for swimming and the next best thing to swimming directly in the open ocean. It was never crowded. I would say that food is probably better than almost any all-inclusive I've been to and plenty of restaurants to choose from amongst all resorts, except for the house wine at most restaurants is not great. Lastly, don't book a late dinner- they will stop serving you at 10PM.

Staff were terrible. Concierge booked us for dinners when restaurants were closed and the resort tried to charge us for it. We were told about all the free excursions, airport transfers, etc. we were entitled to once we were checking out. Overall I will never stay here or any other resort owned by this group again.

They gave us a different room as ours was booked when we got there. We ended up at Generations with the kids when we booked adult only. They did show us another room but they had a water issue so we just decided to stay where we were. The manager said we would have a 100$ credit to no avail when checking out. The staff however were amazing and made the stay. We will not be returning to the El Dorado. Cheers!

Food was excellent. Employees need to be more informed on location of restaurants, and time of their service. Drivers should be more friendly and stop when need ( we tried a couple of times to get a ride and they ignored us) Very disappointed after checking out, can't remember the females name, she was offering a coupon for next visit, my husband asked several times about giving him an estimate if we stay 3 more days, she kept going back to the coupon. We told her we were not interested and she just walked away.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and the staff made us feel special. Beautiful grounds, spotless rooms, and delicious food. From the airport shuttle that they provide to resort staff, we were taken care of with exceptional service and care. We left relaxed and are already planning our return trip!

The staff was very helpful. The hotel was not a party place, so if you are looking to relax, then this is the place. There's no beach to swim. If you are like me, a beach person, then this is not for you. The rocks, the see weed makes it impossible to go in the water. I liked the a la carte restaurants but you should always have buffet for lunch. Because the snack bars would close at 3:30 and it was either pizza or nothing. I also had a swim up pool in my room, the pool was not cleaned, and the main pool should be cleaned more often.

We had a wonderful week here. The facilities and service was excellent. The beach is not swimmable but there is a natural salt water pool and plenty of swimming pools. We never had trouble finding a good spot to sit by the beach or pool. The food was fine, better than most resort food but I would t call it gourmet. Our room had some issues (broken shower, broken door) which were addressed promptly. The vibe here is friendly and relaxed, this is not a party place, which we appreciated. Highly recommmend the horseback riding experience (on site, extra charge) And the trip to the beach club (included). Airport transportation was a breeze as well. One note, bring cash if you don’t want to pay exhorbitant atm and exchange fees at the on site atm. The gift shops are also absurdly overpriced (I paid $40 for a small bottle of sunblock) so bring any necessities with you. Other than thah we had a great time and will be back!

I did not like the fact that its beaches are covered in seaweed. You cannot go swimming at all, you must go outside the resort. They do have swimming pools though

The property is beautiful! It has shops within the resort, multiple pools and restaurants to choose from. The service is excellent, the location is serene, but with some entertainment every night. There are multiple parks within a 30-45 drive that are spectacular. However, if you feel like just kicking back and staying only at the resort it has plenty to offer. The resort is not close to Cancun or Playa del Carmen, but there is transportation available through separate taxi services or shuttles.

This was our first time visiting El Dorado Royale, and we were extremely satisfied with our stay. The property is very well maintained and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food was good, with a wide variety of places to dine at. It would be nice if they had a late-night snack bar on the Royale side as the pizzeria had inconsistent hours and only offered pizza. The resort was busy but still felt quiet, which was nice. The Royale side doesn't have the greatest beach access, but there were plenty of loungers and cabanas to enjoy (Casitas and Generations have better beach access). The pools were well-kept and clean but were very cold! The main pool was always busy, but there are quieter pools throughout the resort if that's what you're looking for. Overall, we had an amazing time, and we will be returning.

My husband and I went to celebrate our 20th anniversary after honeymooning here 20 years prior. I sent an email prior to arrival and not a single thing was done to recognize this celebration. We were met with a hard sell on attending a sales 90 minute presentation in exchange for a candlelight dinner and 25 minute massages. While we agreed at first we decided not to do this and the salesperson was reluctant to accept our decision. Once he did, he was done with us and any part of him helping us with dinner reservations or anything was done. The staff are all lovely and kind but communication is lacking. We were told if we walked down the property there would be ocean access which was untrue. The entire beachfront area had red flags and huge cement blocks in the swimming area. There were a few areas we were able to get in the water but it was rocky and hard to get to a part that was nice. When we asked staff about the ocean we were given many different answers. Food was great for an all inclusive and the drinks, especially at the martini bar were great. There was a push to do a catamaran trip that is included but at one point expressed to us that it was part of the sales incentive. After being at many all inclusive in the area we were left disappointed by the activities with regard to daytime entertainment. The evening entertainment was good and nightlife at Guacamayas fun 2 of the 3 nights. The resort itself was very clean but the pool was hot and there were dead bees.

The food was amazing, I had so much wonderful food. There were some good activities. The catamaran and snorkling was nice. I paid extra to scuba dive and it was wonderful. Booking dinner is somewhat complicated. You should do it as soon as you arrive because many restaurants don't have availability unless you're a week out. There is an app but it doesn't always work, so you have to book with a concierge and they aren't always near your room, have limited operating hours, and sometimes can't book you right away because they have computer issues. Eventually I got booked and got to try many of the different restaurants. The staff was excellent and the food was amazing. There were some art activities like pot painting and tie dye. It's limited to 10 people so show up early. These activities are very fun. There is a chalk board where you can see the schedule, that is the only place this information is available.

Pros: The food was very tasty and nicely presented. Good golf cart service around the resort. Good waiters and bartenders in all restaurant and bars. Good housekeeping. The resort area is very nice. Cons: The lazy river is short, very narrow, and shallow. Very limited bar service by swim-up rooms. No mats for swimming in the pool (bring you own). Both room keys stopped working in mid-stay. In restaurants, reservations are required for the entire stay in advance (restaurants were 60% empty). The breakfast buffet is very small. Coconuts are falling from palm trees onto the paths. The beach is rocky and not suitable for swimming. Nobody cleans up the front of the swim up rooms (animal s…t has been lying around all week).

Seemed to have to order multiple items that didn’t fit together just to feel like you ate. The pools are not good. Dirty and extremely hot. Beach was meh. Eine sehr große, in drei Teilbereiche aufgeteilte Anlage. Viele Restaurants, am Abend aber nur mit Reservierung möglich. Größtenteils sehr hohe Qualität, dabei aber manchmal doch sehr kleine Portionen. Aktuell kein wirklicher Strandbereich! Leider wurde dieser mehrmals durch Hurrikans zerstört. Ebenfalls dadurch wurden auch riesige Betonblöcke (die weiter draußen als Wellenbrecher eingesetzt wurden) bis in den Strandbereich angespüllt. Dieser Anblick trübt doch etwas das Stranderlebnis. Sehr, sehr freundliches Personal. Zimmer durchaus qualitativ, tlw. nicht mehr ganz modern. Insgesamt durchaus eine Empfehlung wert.

My wife and I stayed at El Dorado Royale for 7 days in July and had a fantastic vacation. The resort was only about 30% full, so there were no food lines and restaurant reservations were easy to get. The overall vibe was relaxed, with mostly couples in their 30s to 50s. Our More Inclusive™ package included seamless airport transfers, Maroma Beach access, and extra activities. We highly recommend a swim-up room—it was one of the highlights of our trip. The pools were beautiful, with swim-up bars, live music, games, and even a foam party. The only downside was that pool chairs filled up early with towels, but Maroma Beach always had plenty of loungers. The food was outstanding, and 24-hour room service was perfect before early excursions. The grounds were beautifully maintained. The beach at the resort was unusable due to seaweed, but Maroma Beach more than made up for it with excellent snorkeling, sea turtles, stingrays, and plenty of lounge chairs. Our favorite excursion was Río Secreto, followed by Cobá. We also treated ourselves to a beachfront couples massage at the spa. It was expensive, but listening to the ocean while getting a massage made it worth every penny. Our only real complaint was that the bed wasn't very comfortable, although the massage certainly helped afterward! Skip the Vacation Club presentation unless you're interested. This is an excellent adults-only resort for couples looking to relax, enjoy amazing food, and unwind. We'd definitely return.

We stayed at the casitas last summer and enjoyed our stay. We stayed at Royal this time and didn’t have as good of an experience. They didn’t tell us where our room was so we had to figure out the wifi and find a map while standing in the heat. Our toilet kept messing up and wouldn’t flush. They fixed it once but that only lasted a few flushes. The bracelet to open my room wouldn’t work. They fixed it but it only worked one time. Luckily my husbands bracelet worked. They didn’t restock the beers in our room. A little of the lunch restaurants were closed. One of the reasons we liked the resort before was the amount of restaurants but it was limited this time. Just all around not the best experience this time.

The resort was exactly as described! The food was exquisite at every location. I went on this trip solo and had a fantastic time. Just a tip, make sure to make your reservations for dinner with your concierge the day you arrive to make the process easier. I did have an issue with checking out, but it did not impede on me getting to the airport.
