Comfort Inn & Suites Rapid City near Mt Rushmore

The hotel was clean, well maintained, and the staff was excellent. It has a large patio in front with outdoor couches and chairs. It's sectioned off in three groups and each section has a large fire pit. It's in perfect location if you're going to explore the national and state parks.

Morning, the stay was awesome. There for the bike rally in Sturgis. Only had one dryer that worked. Work on cleaning the pool area . The handle to get in the pool was broken. Everything else was great.

The room was fine.I am very disappointed in the way you advertised the room . The pool slide was not working the hot tub did not work.The pictures were not up to date as to what the room looked like. I would like a siscout for rhe things that did not work or were not available. See photos of hot rub not working and broken hand rail.

The rooms have just been renovated and they are nice, clean and lots of light (which I love). The hot tub is still being renovated so that was a bummer. Also the treadmill in the fitness center is not working - another bummer. Everything else is great.

The room was nice but the amenities, which were the reason we picked it when traveling with kids, were all broken/down/not maintained. Broken equipment in the gym with no towels and it looked like no one had stepped in to clean it in weeks. The pool had not been cleaned, the hot tub and slide were both out of service. We won’t be staying at a Comfort Inn again anytime soon.

The highlight of this stay were the amazing front desk attendants, if it wasn’t for them, I’d be sorely disappointed. The water slide and hot tub were both out of order and nothing was stated about them being inoperable. The pool area was dirty. I asked for room service after the first night as the sheets were not staying on the bed, the trash needed to be taken out, towels needed restocked and just a few basic things and only the trash was taken out and towels dropped off on the counter. No bags were put back in the cans and no coffee was left. Bed was ignored. The breakfast area was stifling hot every morning and they ran out of things. The final straw was the fire alarms going off for an extended time one night and the fire department never showing up and not being informed of what was happening. Nothing was offered as compensation. We were finally able to go back to our rooms but nothing else was said. If this was a $60 hotel, it would have been acceptable but it’s not and I expected more.

Check in was amazing, friendly staff. Free HOT breakfast with coffee is included from 7am -10am. They have a pool which was nice but the hot tub was closed as well as the kids slide. It looked like they were both closed for maintenance. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Nice and quiet, clean hotel. Advertised that it is close to Mount Rushmore, the hotel is a 40 minute drive to Mount Rushmore.

There was dirty towels hanging on the hooks behind the door in the bathroom. There were dity socks behind the couch pillows. The couch was very dorty when we reoved the cushions to use the pullout bed. The tub is stained and dirty

Room was clean, staff very nice and helpful

I thought it was clean until I discovered on 3rd day that the white bed cover had a big coffee stain on it that we were not responsible for. It was also not fully stocked with towels or shampoo, and the cleaning staff were not easy to catch or very friendly. Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Staff was really nice and the breakfast was good! The hotel itself looks newly renovated and was clean for the most part. However, I did see and kill some ants in our room.

What I didn’t like: 1. When it was time for me to take a shower, I found that the conditioner bottle was empty. As someone with fluffy hair, I really need conditioner, but it was too late to do anything since I was already in the shower with wet hair. It seems housekeeping forgot to refill it. 2. They offered a complimentary breakfast, but the pancake batter was too watery. When we tried to cook it, the batter didn’t set properly because of its consistency. I had to track down the staff member in charge to get the batter changed and made thicker so it would cook properly. 3. The most terrible part of our stay was when I woke up in the morning and saw bloodstains all over the blanket. We didn’t notice it the night before because we were so tired and went straight to bed, but in the morning, when I opened the window curtain, it was clearly visible. This made me realize they aren’t changing their blankets or duvet covers. I took a picture of it and reported it to the front desk during checkout, but all I got was an apology: "I\'m sorry that happened." What I liked: The hotel staff, Tiffany, was very nice and friendly. She clearly enjoys her job and understands the needs of travelers like us. Upon check-in, she upgraded our room to a bigger one, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the blankets had blood stains.

The hotel has been updated very nicely it looks great for an older hotel and was priced great. My only complaint is that it wasn't as clean as i would like. There was hair all over the tub and bathroom floor, and the carpet was not vacuumed.

The shower unfortunately didn't drain and the toilet bowl looked as if it wasn't cleaned properly. Other than that, the hotel was nice and affordable.

I would not recommend this hotel staff were rude (when you could even find them). There was a mold smell and it was just not well maintained at all. We booked a different stay for our return trip through here. Oh and our room did not seem like it had been cleaned at all before we checked in.

Room had a musty smell to it. Had to buy Lysol and spray each day! Refrigerator made a lot of noise at times. Overall, a nice stay.

The hotel and staff was amazing.Well maintained,clean and easy to get everywhere we wanted to. If I would have 1 critique it would be that there was no dresser or drawers in the room to put my clothes in just open shelving. Otherwise it was great.

The Bed felt a bit broken

Most the pool area was broken. The door to our room didn’t close properly and couldn’t be locked and you could see into the hall even with the door closed. Bathroom doorknob felt like it was about to fall off. Breakfast was slightly above average.

Seemed like a nice hotel, had a room up top floor, and had a neat view of the city..

Our room was fine except for very slow drains in tub/shower and sink. We reported it to front desk.

Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Only complaint: the walls must be made of paper. It's so loud. I didn't sleep at all the first night due to the noisiest neighbors in the world.

Great staff! Quiet rooms, we didn't here any hallway noise. My husband has a bad back & hips, and we thought the beds were very comfy.

We had a great stay. The room was clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. Highly recommend.

The staff had trouble adding the security deposit,3 times it was on my charge card but 2 have been removed . Waiting for the third one to be removed. Not very professional

I changed the date of arrival for one day later. It was confirmed. I get to the hotel and find I was no-showed the night before. I had booked a suite for 3 beds and the hotel had none available. Your staff was helpful to get me in to another hotel, but I'm very disappointed with Expedia.

One night we had trouble with the wifi in our room so I went down to the front desk and the young girl helped me out and called wifi support right away and they where able to reboot it quickly in about 5 minutes and it worked perfectly the rest of the trip. The staff was very helpful with anything we needed or asked for.

Check in staff very polite. Property was clean and presentable. Rooms very comfortable and most important they looked and smelled clean. My only existing concern in the billing of the room which as of today we are still trying to correct. Booked for 3 nights at rate as booked on Expedia. Added 1 extra night, unfortunately the amount billed is still in question. Still trying to contact someone at the hotel to review the billing for the 4 night stay. Otherwise, the facility itself is great location and would recommend staying there.

Overall an outstanding property. The staff went over and above. We spent half our trip here and the other half at a hotel next door, night and day difference. We'll be back to the comfort Inn! They are a "green" facility, if you want daily fresh towels you'll need to request it. Otherwise it's every 3rd day.

Tiffany was absolutely amazing and helpful for finding us someplace to eat on Thanksgiving night! She also took a picture of my husband and I in front of the Christmas tree. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Didn’t have my room type ready when I checked in at 5pm, not a huge deal got a different room and a rollaway bed. The rollaway bed 100% more comfortable than the actual bed. The bed was basically on the floor and felt broken, loud and creaky, and the gap between the bed and headboard kept swallowing our pillows all night. Pubic hair and dirt on the bathroom floor. Kids acting like complete fools in the pool all night both nights to where my family could not safely swim & they had zero supervision. The one time my child tried to get down the slide when the other kids were there another child came down right as he did and kicked him square in the back. Could also hear them down the hallway & in our room the entire stay. Where was the front desk attendant this whole time? Not a clue. Never actually at the desk. The one time we interacted with the front desk evening attendant she was super snarky about our key not working. Breakfast was decent at least I guess!

Central location for everything we were going to!

Conveniently located to restaurants, entertainment and downtown. Room wasn't fancy but very clean and had everything we needed.

The staff was very friendly and the location was great.

It was a good place to stay while driving east on I90.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Good breakfast options, downfall that they don’t start breakfast until 7am on weekends. Difficult for those who need to get on the road early, there were lots of people waiting for breakfast. The gal making breakfast seemed rushed and the eggs & gravy were cold.

Staff was very friendly. No one answered the phone despite multiple calls at Guest Services. Only one bar of soap in the bathroom only one coffee cup in the room only fried eggs for the hot breakfast the first day

Construction going on...VERY noisy during the day...hot tub out of order, breakfast was biscuits and gravy, breads (english muffin or bagel) or waffle...no eggs, bacon, sausage or yogurt

We were impressed by this location! The staff at check-in was super friendly. The beds were especially comfortable. They did run out of items at breakfast but seemed to be tending to the breakfast area as best as possible given the high volume of people.

The room, bathroom, bed, pillows were great. Breakfast as not so much. The dining area was very clean, but the lack of options, wasn't. That would be my only complaint.
