Very poor value for money. The hotel markets its standard rooms as "villas", which is misleading and creates expectations that are not met. The room was basic and poorly equipped for the price point, with no coffee machine, no iron, and a television that did not work until we asked for technical service. Even more surprisingly, irons are only available upon bookings, and for short period of time! Upon arrival, our room was not ready despite arriving after the official check-in time, forcing us to wait approximately 20 minutes. However, when we requested a modest one-hour late check-out because our infant was asleep, the request was denied with the explanation that room access is automatically disabled shortly after noon. This felt inflexible and lacking in customer care. The overall service was disappointing. Several staff members appeared unwelcoming and indifferent, which made us feel uncomfortable rather than valued as guests. Given the rates charged, I expected a much higher standard of accommodation, service, and hospitality. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations, and we left feeling very disappointed.

La Cigale, certainly lives up to its excellent reputation. The property is impressively clean, with well-maintained grounds and a world-class golf course. The lower staff members are friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, the upper management was unresponsive to customer needs, which was disappointing. While the hotel website highlights a variety of dining options, during my late May stay, several restaurants were closed, leaving us unprepared. It would be helpful to update the site to reflect seasonal availability accurately. Our prepaid half-board included breakfast and dinner, which was problematic for me due to a medical condition that prevents me from eating dinner. I asked if the prepaid value could be applied to lunch instead, but this request was declined. The breakfast buffet started strong but quickly showed limitations. The fruit selection was notably poor, with bland offerings, and items like fresh-squeezed orange juice were often unavailable. The beach area was partly closed for maintenance, and that information wasn’t communicated beforehand. Our room, 1256, had a stunning sea view, and the housekeeping staff was diligent, but the bed was squeaky and disruptive, and the rain shower was clogged. Finally, while enjoying the sea breeze from the balcony, we had to deal with large flies and insects frequently entering the room. In light of this, I recommend installing balcony screens to improve guest comfort.

This property is pristine, and the staff are excellent. The food was good in the restaurant. The sand is very nice, but have the beach is rocky. The one strange thing that makes me get out of four stars is that in the winter and into the mid spring they don’t actually have air-conditioning on so you have to open the window if the room is too warm. Apparently this is hotel wide. I was there late, April.
