I stayed a few nights at Viajero Oaxaca and unfortunately had a mixed experience. The hostel itself is nice, with good facilities and a welcoming atmosphere, but my stay was negatively affected by the behavior of some people in my dorm. The men I was sharing with were extremely unhygienic, leaving dirty tissues and pizza boxes around, and one returned late at night swearing loudly, which was unsettling and made it hard to relax. There was also quite a lot of noise from nearby construction, which added to the disturbance. The staff were helpful when I asked to change rooms, and I appreciated their support, but I feel more could have been done to address the disruptive behavior of certain guests, as I later learned other women felt uncomfortable too. It’s a shame because the hostel itself has a lot of potential, and with better management of these situations, it could offer a much more enjoyable experience.

Tuvimos un problema con nuestra reservación al hacerla a través de expedia pero la chica de la recepción hizo lo posible por arreglarlo 🙌 En general todo bien, se preocupan mucho por que te la pases increíble, hay tours y reuniones diario para que conozcas nuevas personas, la comida está muy rica así como las bebidas La única sugerencia es que en las mañanas pongan a dos personas a atender ya que está solamente una chica y por lo mismo la atención puede ser un poco tardada

Me encantó la experiencia en el hostal, el personal muy atento y amigable y las instalaciones bien cuidadas y limpias, además cuidan mucho que se mantenga el orden y el respeto entre huéspedes para poder descansar

Un lugar muy bien ubicado, limpio y con personal muy amable, mi estancia fue muy agradable y en definitiva volveré a hospedarme ahí, el único detalle que tal vez algunos no les podría haber agradado fue no contar con agua caliente, pero para mi eso no es problema.

The hostel was really good and well located. We stayed there only one day (Monday) and we had a good pleasant stay. The only downside is the check in time which is quite late (3pm) but nothing that would affect my review. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and with everything we needed. Location was great within walkable distance to the main square

Es una excelente opción para viajeros solos. El personal es muy amable, bonitas instalaciones y se encuentra a unas calles del centro. Aunque alquilé una cama en una habitación compartida para 6 mujeres, tuve la suerte de que nadie más llegara, así que tuve la habitación para mí sola. El único tema es que la regadera tiene agua tibia en lugar de caliente, una situación que me informaron desde mi llegada. Sin embargo, para compensar este inconveniente, me ofrecieron desayuno gratuito durante toda mi estancia, lo que estuvo bien.

Great staff, I booked via Expedia for 6 adults and 2 children ages 14 and 15, Expedia didn’t notify me that this Hostel only have guest 18 and older. When we got to the hostel after walking under the heavy rain with our heavy luggage, we were notified they don’t take people under 18 yrs of age. (Sounds like Expedia didn’t notify them of my two kids), we made a few calls to other hotels but everything was booked (we were in Oaxaca during busy celebrations), there was no where to go, we were wet, tired, hungry frustrated and scared, but thankfully Viajero Hostel staff made accommodations so we all could stay in one room including my teenage kids, with the condition that parents must stay with kids at all times and no drinking; well that was a no brainer! So we stayed the two nights I had booked. The room was clean, clean comfortable bunk beds with your own privacy, the place is great. Want to thank the staff. Expedia please update age limit and phone number to contact property! The only down side it’s wifi and phone signal were not great and towels not included, they cost it cost you 60 pesos fee per towel. Viajero Hostel thank you for help.

We loved this hostel, it was so clean & pretty. They had a nice rooftop / bar area and allowed us to travel with our dogs for a small surcharge, that is why we picked this hotel.

Reserve una habitación privada con baño, la cual además de destacar la limpieza cumplía con lo necesario, el staff muy amable y la propiedad en muy buenas condiciones de mantenimiento sin embargo su servicio de internet es malísimo razón por la cual dudo volver a hospedarme ahí.

This place is not only friendly and nice but also the beds are comfy and that is the best to have a good rest after exploring Oaxaca. The reception Kaori was super sweet and attentive in my stay in this amazing place! I can recommend this place sooo much!

Es un lugar muy bonito en todos sentidos: te hacen sentir en casa, decente, discreto ( no parece el típico hostal). Precio muy razonable. Solo sugeriría aire acondicionado en todas las habitaciones.muy recomendable

Está muy bonito y tranquilo el hostal, además el personal es muy amable y dispuesto. El único pero que le pondría es que dentro de las habitaciones no agarra el internet, de ahí en fuera todo muy bien!

Great staff, I booked via Expedia for 6 adults and 2 children ages 14 and 15, Expedia didn’t notify me that this Hostel only have guest 18 and older. When we got to the hostel after walking under the heavy rain with our heavy luggage, we were notified they don’t take people under 18 yrs of age. (Sounds like Expedia didn’t notify them of my two kids), we made a few calls to other hotels but everything was booked (we were in Oaxaca during busy celebrations), there was no where to go, we were wet, tired, hungry frustrated and scared, but thankfully Viajero Hostel staff made accommodations so we all could stay in one room including my teenage kids, with the condition that parents must stay with kids at all times and no drinking; well that was a no brainer! So we stayed the two nights I had booked. The room was clean, clean comfortable bunk beds with your own privacy, the place is great. Want to thank the staff. Expedia please update age limit and phone number to contact property! Tuvimos un problema con nuestra reservación al hacerla a través de expedia pero la chica de la recepción hizo lo posible por arreglarlo 🙌 En general todo bien, se preocupan mucho por que te la pases increíble, hay tours y reuniones diario para que conozcas nuevas personas, la comida está muy rica así como las bebidas La única sugerencia es que en las mañanas pongan a dos personas a atender ya que está solamente una chica y por lo mismo la atención puede ser un poco tardada

Un lugar muy bien ubicado, limpio y con personal muy amable, mi estancia fue muy agradable y en definitiva volveré a hospedarme ahí, el único detalle que tal vez algunos no les podría haber agradado fue no contar con agua caliente, pero para mi eso no es problema.

The hostel was really good and well located. We stayed there only one day (Monday) and we had a good pleasant stay. The only downside is the check in time which is quite late (3pm) but nothing that would affect my review. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and with everything we needed. Es una excelente opción para viajeros solos. El personal es muy amable, bonitas instalaciones y se encuentra a unas calles del centro. Aunque alquilé una cama en una habitación compartida para 6 mujeres, tuve la suerte de que nadie más llegara, así que tuve la habitación para mí sola. El único tema es que la regadera tiene agua tibia en lugar de caliente, una situación que me informaron desde mi llegada. Sin embargo, para compensar este inconveniente, me ofrecieron desayuno gratuito durante toda mi estancia, lo que estuvo bien.

We loved this hostel, it was so clean & pretty. They had a nice rooftop / bar area and allowed us to travel with our dogs for a small surcharge, that is why we picked this hotel.

Staff are super friendly and helpful, and although I thought that the fan was going to be noisy, I fell asleep very easy and comfortable. The hostel does have some leaks on the roof as the rain was causing some water puddles on the ground floor. Also the shower is not compatible with short people. But would recommend the place for socializing and fair prices.
