I had a stunning stay at Happy Cretan Suites during late September 2025. The staff, the facilities, the views, ambience and the food were all amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook this hotel and I have recommended it to all of my friends. On the first morning I opted for the complimentary yoga in the spa area which was incredible, the teacher was very knowledgable and I felt relaxed and energised following it. Lana who cleaned my room did a wonderful job, left me cute notes and complementary snacks most days. She was great, even when I was in her way because I returned to my room mid clean! The ladies doing the breakfast service were amazing too, I cannot remember their names but they were so kind and welcoming. Food was very very good Recommendations: a complimentary fresh 1L bottle of water should be provided for each room every day. I found it quite frustrating that there wasn’t free drinkable water available in the room when I arrived unless I bought some (I was parched after travelling the entire day). There was some overly priced water in the mini bar that you could purchase but most luxury hotels I stay in give you free water every day so I thought this was unusual. If a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine could be provided, a free bottle of water should be too. Pools were freezing cold, even after a hot day. Recommend to heat them Please put the yoga class on more than once a week, it was amazing so I’d have loved to have gone again.

Séjour très agréable dans un hôtel très récent avec 2 grandes piscines, un personnel aux petits soins, des chambres raffinées et très confortables avec un superbe vue sur la mer. 2 grandes salles de sport très bien équipées. Petit déjeuner extraordinaire!!! Hôtel perdu dans la montagne, loin de tout, ce que nous nous recherchions ! Seul point négatif pour le jacuzzi de notre chambre était HS et nous n’avons donc pas pu l’utiliser pendant une partie de notre séjour.

Fantastisk läge ca 20 min promenad från den lilla staden Agia Pelagia. Hotellet verkar renoverats i omgångar med fantastiska villor med egen pool och ultramoderna detaljer samt den lite äldre delen. Två poolområden där den ena tillhör den nya fräscha och den andra andra bra, lite äldre charm. Mkt trevlig frukost-restaurang både inne och ute med fantastisk utsikt men deras huvudrestaurant känns gammal och oinspirerad. Köket andas inte modernt eller ungt. Vänlig personal som gör sitt yttersta för att hjälpa till. Gå då hellre ned till Agia Pekagia och boka bord på Galea. Ett härligt utegym och en till fitness-facilitet med äldre maskiner. Utsikten är underbar.

The service was absolutely incredible here! From the moment we arrived, upon check-in we were offered cool and refreshing water with lemon slices. We were then given a tour of the compound and taken to our private suite where complimentary champagne and greek treats were waiting. The pool and view were stunning, the food in the restaurant is some of the best quality we had in Crete - *tip get the tzatziki and ask for the chef's sweet treat of the day - the room was cleaned every day to an impeccable standard - and my standards are sky high as I'm slightly OCD. The cleanliness and reaponsiveness of the staff is some of the best I've ever encountered. The breakfast was bountiful and as well as your usual continental style breakfast you can order hot food options at the bar. The pool for the private suite is shockingly cool in the day time which is lovely if you've been out in the sun all day but it warms up upon sunset. Parking is fantastic, we rented a car and never failed to find a spot no matter what time we returned to the hotel after spending time out. Happy Cretan Suites was truly a 10/10 experience and we would definitely return! Thank you so much to all the stuff who made our stay so fantastic.

Stunning location and amazing staff! We stayed 4 days and 3 nights. We very much enjoyed a great night of traditional Greek music and dancing with an incredible meal. The Stone room was beautiful and the amenities were amazing! 25/10 highly recommend! The menu was absolutely delicious as well!

The entire staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely professional. The property was unique… the room was spacious and the amenities were endless. We loved the high end blue tooth speaker system in our room as well as the robes and slippers. Dimitrios and Kostas were very helpful and Elizabeth gave us terrific deep tissue messages. Stella took great care of our room. The restaurant onsite was excellent and we were well attended to by the staff. We are grateful! We will return for sure!!

We had a really enjoyable stay at the Happy Cretan Resort. The sea view from our room was gorgeous, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Happy Cretan was the perfect place. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The rooms were immaculate, cleaned every day throughout the trip as well as all eating areas and the gym etc - everything was spotless! The breakfast was also a great selection, lots to choose from and all tasted fantastic! It is really the perfect relaxation place! Thank you Happy Cretan!!

The beds were a bit hard and uncomfortable. The shower drain was very slow and you had to walk through your own self to get out . I asked to have it resolved and nothing ever happened. You shouldn't have to ask twice in the bag to have something fixed. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was quite Pleasant

Lovely setting overlooking the sea our room was spotlessly clean and really comfortable. Everything we needed was provided and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine was waiting for us. Our room had its own private outside seating area and jacuzzi which was lovely - although the communal pools and other facilities were also excellent. The included breakfast was superb and the service was exceptional, as was the dinner and traditional entertainment in the evening. All in all an excellent stay!

The hotel has the most amazing staff, the food is great and the location is just a great peaceful hideout from the city... Highly recommended. We took the cave suite with private pool in june, it was quiet and nice and nearly no one gets near the suite expect for the cleaning lady! Great for our honey moon

This is a very nice property with super nice people! They had multiple pools, bars, and restaurants to choose from. Saying that, the food was meh. It had plenty of options and items to choose from, but in our opinion wasn’t real good. We decided to take the 8EU cab ride into town and eat there every night. We had one of the suites and it was excellent. Very spacious room and bathroom/shower area. Not to mention the hot tub right outside your room was incredible. The only issue we had was with Laundry service. We received our clothes later than the time we were told and when we got them back they were still wet due to them having dryer issues. Thankfully we weren’t flying out and only to pack them in a bag in our cab to our next location. A bit of a pain but not the end of the world. All in all a wonderful place to stay but you may want to step out to get your food.

The rooms were stunning, we had a private pool and it was so worth it! The views from everywhere in the hotel are gorgeous. Clean rooms, luxurious and comfortable! The only downside is that it is away from the main city but we were ok with that since we mostly wanted to have a relaxing couple of days before the next leg of our honeymoon! Highly recommend :)

The beds were a bit hard and uncomfortable. The shower drain was very slow and you had to walk through your own self to get out . I asked to have it resolved and nothing ever happened. You shouldn't have to ask twice in the bag to have something fixed. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was quite Pleasant

The service was absolutely incredible here! From the moment we arrived, upon check-in we were offered cool and refreshing water with lemon slices. We were then given a tour of the compound and taken to our private suite where complimentary champagne and greek treats were waiting. The pool and view were stunning, the food in the restaurant is some of the best quality we had in Crete - *tip get the tzatziki and ask for the chef's sweet treat of the day - the room was cleaned every day to an impeccable standard - and my standards are sky high as I'm slightly OCD. The cleanliness and reaponsiveness of the staff is some of the best I've ever encountered. The breakfast was bountiful and as well as your usual continental style breakfast you can order hot food options at the bar. The pool for the private suite is shockingly cool in the day time which is lovely if you've been out in the sun all day but it warms up upon sunset. Parking is fantastic, we rented a car and never failed to find a spot no matter what time we returned to the hotel after spending time out. Happy Cretan Suites was truly a 10/10 experience and we would definitely return! Thank you so much to all the stuff who made our stay so fantastic.

The entire staff went above and beyond in every aspect. Once they heard we were checking out early, b4 breakfast, they made 2 "to go" breakfasts that we could eat on the ferry. I cant say enough about the staff and property. Our only mistake was not renting a car, but we were there to relax

Amazing property and staff. I miss it already. Can’t rave about this property enough. The staff is amazing. We were welcomed with a personal note and champagne as well as sweet treats. They even packed us a breakfast on our last day as we were leaving very early. We were even given a goodbye gift.

The entire staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely professional. The property was unique… the room was spacious and the amenities were endless. We loved the high end blue tooth speaker system in our room as well as the robes and slippers. Dimitrios and Kostas were very helpful and Elizabeth gave us terrific deep tissue messages. Stella took great care of our room. The restaurant onsite was excellent and we were well attended to by the staff. We are grateful! We will return for sure!!

About 30 minutes away from Heraklion, so I would recommend renting a car. You can arrange a taxi, but it’s better to have your own transportation on the island. Food was a bit hit or miss. Breakfast had a large spread- I didn’t know until after the fact but you can request an omelette or fresh eggs. Room was lovely and we enjoyed being in a hot tub suite!

Small resort on the hill overlooking the sea. New pool is sweet. We had a hot tub room, which was perfect. We overheard others with saying the private pools were too cold to hang out in. Breakfast was delicious. Walking to the beach town nearby was fun. Roads are very narrow and dark at night. It’s easy to get a cab back to the hotel.

This was a terrific hotel about 25 kilometers out of Heraklion. It was fine for us because we had a car and the driving easy. The hotel was walking distance down the hill Agia Pelagia which is a cute little beach town. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and were pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the dishes we had- way better than a hotel restaurant usually is. The staff was great and the breakfast buffet was very good. If you are planning a trip to Knossos and the Archeological Museum this is a good option. It was nice to get back to the quiet of an out of town hotel. The only downside is they are trying to hard to be kitschy which is totally unnecessary for such a quality property. We loved it all in all

Un hôtel parfait avec une mention spéciale à l’accueil de Dimitri et surtout aux deux personnes qui nous ont servis les soirs au restaurant. Une gentillesse hors norme. Le restaurant est également absolument parfait. Bravo, on reviendra dans votre havre de paix avec une vue magnifique.

Spectacular view, not too far from the airport. Wonderful room, clean and spacious, we got a room with private pool and sea view. Nice beaches close by. Strongly recommend getting a rental car to move around. Stay on the main roads!!! Food at the hotel could be better (breakfastis is ok), you are better off finding restaurants to eat out for dinner.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the Happy Cretan Resort. The sea view from our room was gorgeous, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. This is by far the nicest hotel and location we have ever stayed. Seriously. We arrived to our beautiful room and found a hand written note from management with chilled champagne and sweets. We were stunned by the sunsets over the water of the ocean and the amazing pools! The food was very good in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was excellent. This is a destination location!

Thankfully we weren’t flying out and only to pack them in a bag in our cab to our next location. A bit of a pain but not the end of the world. All in all a wonderful place to stay but you may want to step out to get your food.

The service was absolutely incredible here! From the moment we arrived, upon check-in we were offered cool and refreshing water with lemon slices. We were then given a tour of the compound and taken to our private suite where complimentary champagne and greek treats were waiting. The pool and view were stunning, the food in the restaurant is some of the best quality we had in Crete - *tip get the tzatziki and ask for the chef's sweet treat of the day - the room was cleaned every day to an impeccable standard - and my standards are sky high as I'm slightly OCD. The cleanliness and reaponsiveness of the staff is some of the best I've ever encountered. The breakfast was bountiful and as well as your usual continental style breakfast you can order hot food options at the bar. The pool for the private suite is shockingly cool in the day time which is lovely if you've been out in the sun all day but it warms up upon sunset. Parking is fantastic, we rented a car and never failed to find a spot no matter what time we returned to the hotel after spending time out. Happy Cretan Suites was truly a 10/10 experience and we would definitely return! Thank you so much to all the stuff who made our stay so fantastic.

Stunning location and amazing staff! We stayed 4 days and 3 nights. We very much enjoyed a great night of traditional Greek music and dancing with an incredible meal. The Stone room was beautiful and the amenities were amazing! 25/10 highly recommend! The menu was absolutely delicious as well!

We had a cave room which had everything we wanted. The only gripe I had was the pillows. I prefer feather but I know this is a personal choice. The staff were kind, obliging and our cleaner did a great job every day. We did have a few meals in the restaurant which were al a carte and so very nice. The views were wonderful from our pool and the whole holiday was chilled, peaceful and calming.

Gorgeous place and everything was clean. Breakfast, not a very big spread but was not an issue for me. Problem if you have allergies, but i guess you could ask.

The hotel was clean and perfect for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The stunning views and the private swimming pool attached to the apartment were a great bonus. There were very few other services or amenities in the area, but that suited us well as we were looking for a quiet getaway. With the car we were able to drive around the island anyway. A special thank you goes to George from the restaurant. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and service-minded throughout our stay. He truly made us feel valued and went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience.
