The bedrooms are quite cramped; making the beds is difficult because the beds are so close together and packed into the space. The house we stayed in felt like its been squeezed into a leftover spot behind other houses. The whole park itself feels very "tight" apart from the communal areas — the houses are too close together, if you want to use your porch, it feels like the guests on neighboring houses are right there with you. The access for cars are much narrower than at other holiday parks we’ve visited in the Netherlands, so we didn't feel safe letting our 7-year-old ride his bike alone. The outdoor playground is great, as is the water park. The indoor pool gets very crowded, but it’s a good option for rainy days. Car access closes at 10 PM, so if you stay at Efteling until the park closes in summer months, you'll have to park in the outer lot and walk back to your house—carrying tired children all the way (for us, it was a 15-minute walk). We ran out of gas in our house, but when we notified reception, the tank was promptly replaced. It was nice to have A/C.

We had a good stay but with some little issues that needed resolving such as blocked sink and not receiving enough towel/linen packets. But resolved. Great play area for children and swimming whenever they wanted to. The staff I would rate as great because on the last day my nephew banged his head and cut it open. The restaurant staff rushed into action calling the on-site doctor who came immediately with the first aid kit and did the temporary fix so we could take him to the hospital. 10 mins drive from Efteling.

The park is ok to stay for a few days, this was a few days’ relaxing time after visiting France and Germany. Overall the park is acceptable but nothing special. The pool area is rather hectic - there is a distinct lack of pool chairs / sunbeds outside. If you’re not there early in the day to grab one of approx 15-20 chairs / beds, forget it - you end up lying on your towel on the grass. We attended a ‘pool party’ for the kids on an evening. The pool ended up being overcrowded and unsafe practices were evident - multiple kids “dive bombing” with little regard for their safety and that of others. Half of the “Sands” cafe seating area is self-service / half is table service. This isn’t made clear. I waited a very long time to get served - but ended up walking away and going out with my family for dinner in the car to a nearby village instead. The “cabins” are clean and comfortable however, but our A/C remote had a missing battery and the BBQ did not work. That’s disappointing as staff should check facilities are in working order, prior to checking in. The combi oven was also difficult to use, with no instructions. Overall an alright stay for a few days but “nothing to write home about.” Rather expensive for the facilities on offer at Eur 700 for 4 nights. I feel you can have better value elsewhere.
