The hotel was nice and we would stay there again. I was shocked that a hotel in Austin, TX does not have a pool - I didn't bother to check because I assumed there would be one. Also, our room - 1304 - had a musty smell when you first walked in.

I didn’t like the parking. The only option is valet parking which is $65+ depending on the vehicle and next to it there is another parking option that you pay $15 hourly and it looks super sketchy.

The bathroom door didn’t close right and I let the front desk know. They fixed it right away. Very friendly front desk. Quick check in. They have a valet service overnight that’s $53 a night but it’s in the same parking lot as open parking that’s $30 for 15 hours

The hotel property and staff were great. I enjoyed both the restaurant and the bar. The valet parking situation is a nightmare. It takes 20 minutes to retrieve your car. To mitigate this, they have a text system to make your retrieval request ahead of time, but the valet's basically ignore it. They were missing keys, and in one case just couldn't find a patrons rental car.

The showier was not clean and had public hair in it. I had to let the front desk know so that they could send housekeeping. The parking situation was terrible. I had to valet for $65. I was not expecting that.

There was a lack of towels and long towels were small; the tub was full up when I arrived, it was full of water, and the plug was still up. The floor was dirty. We thought parking was included, but they charge around $25-45 a night. We took the chance to park in the street during the weekend; the homeless were everywhere around the property, and there was not much light, and we felt unsafe walking just out of the property. We would instead choose Airbnb rather than the hotel. The carpet feels disgusting. The only positive was the staff receiving set up expectations about the parking and suggestions, also went through the $75 hold in cc, time of breakfast

There is really no one helpful working here. House keeping will do the bed but not empty the garbage, would've restock coffee, water or cups. They wouldn't wipe the desk. I was a single person staying in a business tripe, my room wasn't that messy for them not to do the bare minimum of taking out the garbage, wiping down and restocking room needs. I am a member if the hilton honors loyalty program, this was the worst Hilton I had stayed at.

The main issue I had was that the tvs in the room had terrible reception. And it was not just our room but all the people that stayed in the hotel. We were trying to watch the playoffs and the tv kept going black repeatly.

Staff was great, but the walls in this hotel are very thin You can hear everything from the rooms next to you. I would not recommend staying here if you want to sleep. I was going to stay 2 nights, but only stayed 1. Told the front desk person that I was checking out early due to the noise, who wasn't concerned. Does it for me - will never stay or spend $ with any Hilton Hotels. But despite this one staff member, all the others were great and suggested great restaurants around.

Our stay at the Hilton was great! The location was perfect for a quick little girls trip, easy to walk or catch a ride to the downtown area, or attend an event at the University. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and our view of the Capitol was lovely. The front desk folks were helpful, and the bar by the reception area was fast and staffed with friendly bartenders.

Everything was fine but I take issue with what they call a capitol view room. We paid extra for that view but from our room (1313) you could only see the capitol if you stood within a foot of the window and looked as far to the right as you could. What you mainly saw was the top of a parking structure. It appears that the rooms with a tower view are way better.

Incredibly nice hotel! What a hidden gem in downtown Austin. I have been traveling to Austin for business for years, and this is my new “go to” hotel. Clean, modern, beautifully decorated, and with incredibly friendly and helpful staff! Way to go Hilton Garden Inn University capital District staff, you have a new loyal customer!

It was our first time staying at this property. When we arrived, we were greeted by the valet staff, all of whom were very friendly and professional. Tara at the front desk was equally amazing. The bartenders were super attentive and made our stay perfect! The property is very clean and well maintained. I saw someone cleaning something everywhere we went! I will absoltely stay here again.

After being at the Capitol for a 12hr day we arrived at the hotel to find out they had given our rooms away because we didn’t check in by the deadline (that wasn’t listed anywhere on anyone’s confirmation email) and couldn’t rebook us because we used a “3rd party the first time”. When I asked if he was saying they were sold out of rooms, he said no but we’re in the middle of a night audit and can’t book anyone until noon. So we had to go stay elsewhere. The guy working didn’t have any solutions and a pretty poor attitude about it.

While the hotel itself is in very nice condition, the general area is very rough. There is significant construction is all directions so getting around on foot can be tricky. Not to mention the contractors start very early so sleeping isn't easy. My biggest issue with the hotel is they don't offer any self-parking, or anything as an offsite alternative. You are forced to pay $55 per day for their in and out valet service. While the service itself is nice, being forced to pay $55 per day when you rarely use the service is a bit excessive. Had this been more apparent when I was booking the hotel, I would've went with an alternate property.

Location to UT campus was great; lots of valet attendants if you have a car. Stayed on a weekend, so we paid for brunch one day. It was expensive, but had a vast selection for a buffet and the food was excellent. The only thing I would comment on that could improve is the security. We walked right in and went straight into the elevator and up to our room, without needing our key to use the elevator or anyone asking us anything. It is a safe place and lots of people around, but I would definitely put a keycard lock on the stairwells and elevators.

Great place to stay near University. The surrounding area can be noisy due to Construction but that is pretty much the case in most areas in and near downtown. We tend to stay at this location because it’s clean and well taken care of.

We wanted somewhere walking distance to the Moody Center and this was fine, about a 15-20 minute walk. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good for the price, with big tacos for like $5.

I gave 2 stars for poor service because I went to the restaurant for dinner and sat down at a table and waited for 15mins before I got up to ask the guy working at the bar if he would help me with placing an order. Room was clean, staff, was friendly. Breakfast was a buffet or alacart. I choose alacart 2 egg whites potatoe and toast. Toast not toasted, egg whites fried in butter and deep fried potatoes and very well done bacon. Not a healthy start to my day. Sent it back and settled for toast and coffee. HG needs to step it up to maintain the business travler. Especially with healier options, and a bit more than oatmeal and fruit.

Great: comfortable bed, bathroom lighting, clean room, close to UT canpus. Good: water pressure in shower, quiet room. Poor: hot breakfast buffet offering but food was cold, satellite reception for TV streamimg options was not working so couldn't watch TV. All the hotel said was they couldn't do anything about it. No offering of even a small compensation was made. I will not stay here again.

Our trip to Austin was to see a concert at the Mody center located near the hotel. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. All of the hotel staff is very friendly. The bar is full service with a great food menu. We will stay here again.
