The hotel itself is lovely, very quirky in terms of decoration but everything looks lovely and is very modern. The bathrooms are gorgeous and always very clean. The rooms are also very quiet, we couldn’t hear any outside noise from nearby roads etc. The courtyard with the plunge pool is a very peaceful oasis in the middle of Lisbon which was lovely to unwind in. The staff were great and very helpful. The location was perfect to be slightly outside of the hustle and bustle whilst still walkable into the city. The only downside (which is not the hotels fault) was there were quite a few people who sat opposite the hotel on the pavement every day for most of the day, some of which I saw using drugs. They were never noisy and kept themselves to themselves entirely and would just calmly sit there and chat amongst each other, we never felt unsafe but I wouldn’t have wanted to walk back to the hotel on my own. It is a shame as the hotel itself is great.

The hotel was awesome . Having a big whirlpool downstairs is just such a nice thing after long days of walking around the city. The room was very tidy and fairly big for Lisbon with a nice bathroom and even full kitchen possibilities hidden in a cabinet. The service was also great and the people there were very friendly. The only thing that we did not like so much was the location. Eventhough it is quite close to the old town (around 10-15 minute walk) there are some quite sketchy streets in the area. We would recommend to avoid the street „r. do benformoso“ as we did not feel safe in that place as tourists. Stay to the Main Street - and it all will be fine!

The decor was amazing. The staff was always on site for you. There were VERY noisey Canadian guest in the pool upon arrival. Front desk staff took care of them. Outside of it taking 4 request to 3 different staff, we finally got more towles...the following day. Everything else was perfect. We would stay there again for sure. The vibe, decor and amenities are well worth it. The neighbourhood is close to a not so safe area but once in a cab you're fine.

We had the most beautiful stay here. The room was amazing, huge and even had a fridge and kitchen equipment. The bonus of the small pool to relax in was great. Really comfy bed, staff were lovely and helpful and a nice area to explore Lisbon. Highly recommend.

Very pleased with the hotel and its staff, who were extremely accommodating in any passing conversation or request and very communicative generally, both in-person and over text message. Pros: Although there are numerous pros to this property, some of the standout features include the pool, the hotel's quiet ambiance, the cleanliness of the room, and the boutique feel of the lobby. Again, I can't stress enough how communicative and friendly the Front Desk staff was. The hospitality group that owns this hotel needs to do as much as it can to retain the staff that they have hired. The staff would be a valuable asset anywhere else, and they make this property such a fantastic place to stay. Cons: The only 2 things that I can ask to be improved are the shelving or counter surface area in the bathroom for you to lay out toiletries. Also, I drink a lot of water and would request a few bottles of water per day, as they only have one refillable bottle per room (intentionally), and I feel like it would be less annoying for the room service staff to keep running upstairs to get the empty bottle and swap it out with a full one. We loved the funkiness of this boutique hotel. The outdoor jacuzzi and terrace area is fab, the rooms are spacious, very well-appointed (be warned- not for prudes- decor is risque), and the staff is wonderful. It is in the Moorish quarter, so not super walkable for a lot of the attractions, and the street is a bit rundown, but Upon Angels is a little gem in the midst.

The rooms (we were upgraded after our first night) were spacious and we got a kick out of the eclectic and risqué decor! Sadly, we primarily picked this hotel due to their ‘fabulous looking and very favorably commented on by prior guests’ outdoor huge hot tub … but it was ice cold and, remarkably, we were told by the front desk representatives that it was not possible to heat it up! Well, needless to say, we were very disappointed, and said as much. In return, to the hotel’s credit, we were upgraded to a larger room with an ‘interesting’ in-room circular tub, that we did then enjoy during the rest of our stay. Otherwise, our stay was pleasant and the breakfasts were absolutely FABULOUS! I would recommend this hotel to others, just beware that the hot tub should not be counted on as part of your stay.

The hotel was very clean and was a nice property, however the hot tub was not working and unfortunately that was not communicated to us upon arrival, We also later learned that the area around the hotel was not clean due to a strike from sanitation workers, so I am not sure how rings are around the area at other times. In all, although we were not satisfied, the hotel staff refunded us a portion of our stay and were very hospitable.

Good location, short distance from attractions and downtown. Breakfast was excellent, but the dining area was a little crowded. The jacuzzi garden was a nice place to sit down in the afternoon. Really liked the hotel.

We were given a different room than the one shown in the photos when I made the booking, which was a bit disappointing at first. However, overall our stay was still excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Bathrobes were provided, the bed linen was fresh and clean, and there was tea and coffee available in the room, which was a nice touch. The curtains blocked the daylight really well, so it was easy to sleep, and there were no disturbing outside noises during the night. The only things we missed were disposable slippers and separate face towels. Overall, we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Very stylish property, friendly staff. A little style over substance maybe? Breakfast is £15 per person, the hotel bar is expensive. The rooms are really interesting but there are certain details missing, for example there are no hooks on the wall or in bathroom so cant really hang anything up to dry. The pillows were not great quality and there wasn't another option? Bed was very comfortable.There are blue lights in the cealing that turn on to movement so when you turn in bed, they come on which woke us up a few times. Often housekeeping would forgot to replace a used item like towels, facecloths, tea, coffee

We reserved our stay thru Expedia from the USA. We arrived finding the staff is very helpful. It was our first visit in Lisbon and we had various questions which they were able to answer. In big hotels you are just a number. Upon Angels is a smaller boutique hotel where you get the all attention you need. The cleanliness in our room & bathroom was absolutely remarkable!! We had breakfast in house and were impressed with the variety and quality of the breakfast buffet! We'll be happy to refer any friends or family to Upon Angels Hotel.

Le personnel est très gentil. La chambre était spacieuse très joliment décorée et impecablement propre. C’est très calme proche des trams, bus et métros avec de tres bons restaurants de tous type autour. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

The room was kovely and comfortable. With plates, cups, cuterly, microwave as an extra addition. Good coffee machjne and kettle. Could improve on breakfast, only hot option was eggs. Room was noisy in am especially when people getting up. Could hear other toielts flushing and then drain noises. Hotel close enough to get to other areas

Our room was clean and spacious. There were coffee and tea making facilities. There was a small fridge and microwave and dishes in the cupboard. Bottle is drinking water was replaced daily. While the mattress was comfortable the bed frame is a little low for my aching knees. The frame was also a bit creaky. This hotel was well located, close to transit and dining. It is on a one way side street that was quiet at night. While the neighbours across the alleyway got a little loud that didn't last long. The adults only policy also helped. The decor in the hotel reflected that policy with prints and artwork of an adult nature. The staff were very helpful about arranging taxis and giving us directions.

The decor was amazing. The staff was always on site for you. There were VERY noisey Canadian guest in the pool upon arrival. Front desk staff took care of them. Outside of it taking 4 request to 3 different staff, we finally got more towles...the following day. Everything else was perfect. We would stay there again for sure. The vibe, decor and amenities are well worth it. The neighbourhood is close to a not so safe area but once in a cab you're fine.

We stay three nights from 10/8/2024 to 10/11/2024. It is over rated hotel. Room is clean but it did not have any drawers and it has no place to put cup & brush in the bathroom. Very pleased with the hotel and its staff, who were extremely accommodating in any passing conversation or request and very communicative generally, both in-person and over text message. Pros: Although there are numerous pros to this property, some of the standout features include the pool, the hotel's quiet ambiance, the cleanliness of the room, and the boutique feel of the lobby. Again, I can't stress enough how communicative and friendly the Front Desk staff was. The hospitality group that owns this hotel needs to do as much as it can to retain the staff that they have hired. The staff would be a valuable asset anywhere else, and they make this property such a fantastic place to stay. Cons: The only 2 things that I can ask to be improved are the shelving or counter surface area in the bathroom for you to lay out toiletries. Also, I drink a lot of water and would request a few bottles of water per day, as they only have one refillable bottle per room (intentionally), and I feel like it would be less annoying for the room service staff to keep running upstairs to get the empty bottle and swap it out with a full one. Our first room had issues— TV didn’t work, outlets didn’t work, smelled like smoke, no hot water in the shower. We asked for a different room and they immediately switched us to a better one. Everything was great after that, they even surprised me with a little cake on my birthday. There are a bunch of great restaurants and bars nearby, a Metro station right around the corner, a little market steps away, and it was super easy to get to other neighborhoods. Great launchpad for adventures!

Très bien, nous avions la chambre 103 au-dessus de la réception. On entend la musique de la réception et de la salle à manger. On entend aussi les bruits de l’extérieur, musique, gens qui parlent. Sinon très bel hôtel, bien situé.

The hotel itself and staff are very nice. Very comfortable bed, clean, good facilities. Additionally, good location, only 25 minutes from the airport, short distance from the main centre. The only bad thing was presence of the dubious (drugs using) characters that were sitting/sleeping on the pavement opposite the hotel. Even though they kept themselves to themselves but, as a lone traveller, their presence and open drug use, made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe.

In regards to the location it can seem a little dodgy at night but we have had no problem

Not exactly in the center of everything but the room conduction was very good fully equipped and comfortable to stay. I had a large room with bath inside most relaxing. Will stay again. After trying out the central locations first :) Best breakfast I had in the trip.

Very good hotel . Comfortable with Great shower and air conditioning . Intendente Station is a two minute walk so extremely easy to get to wherever you need in Lisbon.

Ein schönes und kreatives Hotel. Lage war auch gut. Frühstück wurde ins Zimmer gebracht, was uns weniger gut gefallen hat, da es nicht abwechslungsreich war. Jeden Tag das gleiche, auf Wünsche wurde leider nicht eingegangen und im Zimmer war auch nicht genug Platz zum frühstücken… nächstes Mal würde ich das Hotel ohne Frühstück buchen.

A really nice hotel well situated 12 mins walk from the main centre. A plus is that it’s not on a hill (you’ll understand why after visiting Lisbon and very close to the Metro at Intendente). A couple of nice restaurants are very close by and I’d recommend the Portuguese/ Italian just as you walk onto Avenida Almirante Reis. Room is funky inc bathroom but little space for toiletries? Breakfast is good but on my first morning I wasn’t offered the cooked breakfast and on another day the scrambled eggs were stone cold! Ask for your breakfast to be freshly cooked? On arrival, the lift wasn’t working but was soon repaired. Take care on the stairs which I thought was quite dimly lit. After unpacking my case, I had some creased shirts and asked for the loan of a clothes iron. But was told on two occasions, it was with other guests. I was given a clothes steamer but this didn’t work. Needless to say, I didn’t bother asking a third time for the iron. Staff always smiled and pleasantly greeted you. The male member of staff who did the breakfasts was so nice and friendly! He was really attentive and looked after everyone. The outside area is quiet and cool if you want some time out to read or just admire the fab mural! Taxi to the airport… book on the Uber app for under €10. I had emails from the hotel offering a taxi for €31… guess which I booked arrived at the door in 2 minutes! Would I go back? Yes. Why? Location, funky interior, cleanliness, no kids, staff member at breakfast!

We reserved our stay thru Expedia from the USA. We arrived finding the staff is very helpful. It was our first visit in Lisbon and we had various questions which they were able to answer. In big hotels you are just a number. Upon Angels is a smaller boutique hotel where you get the all attention you need. The cleanliness in our room & bathroom was absolutely remarkable!! We had breakfast in house and were impressed with the variety and quality of the breakfast buffet! We'll be happy to refer any friends or family to Upon Angels Hotel.

Bra hotell och trevlig personal. Ganska lyhört, vi hörde våra grannar och det var en del som kom hem sent och gjorde oväsen. Sängarna knakade lite så när man vände sig på natten vaknade man till. Poolområdet var litet men fint och det var sällan mycket folk där. Frukosten var okej, litet utbud men lite roligare med olika skinkor, ostar och frukt. Det fanns ett pentry i rummet så om man ville köpa hem frukost istället gick det. I området fanns även väldigt bra brunchställen! Området var lite nedgånget, men ingen fara alls. Nära till tunnelbanan och bussar, samt mataffärer och kiosker.

Not exactly in the center of everything but the room conduction was very good fully equipped and comfortable to stay. I had a large room with bath inside most relaxing. Will stay again. After trying out the central locations first :) Best breakfast I had in the trip.

Personal sehr nett, Hotelzimmer stylisch und sauber, wenig Stauraum oder Kleiderhaken im Zimmer. Frühstück wird auf dem Zimmer serviert. Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach gehalten, es gibt nur eine Kaffeekapsel pro Tag pro Person und jeden Tag die gleichen Speisen. (Mal rührei, mal Spiegelei) Wenn man viel Wert auf ein abwechslungsreiches Frühstück legt, ist diese Unterkunft nicht ideal.

Good location, short distance from attractions and downtown. Breakfast was excellent, but the dining area was a little crowded. The jacuzzi garden was a nice place to sit down in the afternoon. Really liked the hotel.

It is the most cute and unique place I have ever stayed. I would definitely recommend it and if I'm in Lisbon again I will without doubt stay at upon angels in Lisbon

My husband and I were celebrating our 30 years married this month and decided to stay at this lovely hotel, Upon Angels in Lisbon, Portugal. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the balcony overlooking the pool which was in a courtyard with open top so the outdoor feel with indoor feel. The bed was super comfortable and the room and building was very clean. But what really made our trip was the hotel staff and specifically Gabriel who went above and beyond to ensure we had the trip of a lifetime! And it really was a trip of a lifetime! We took day trips to Sintra and Porto ( two separate get your guide day trips). I would highly recommend looking into porto on your own though using public transportation as the day trip wasn’t our favourite. Gabriel has lots of great ideas so we asked about different restaurant suggestions and places to go and we were never disappointed by his recommendations. Gabriel, thank you for making our trip one of the best we have ever had! Definitely would return to Upon Angels.
