Solid hotel and the location is perfect. Rooms were a bit smaller than the pictures seemed, but big enough. Only thing that really was a bit frustrating was the wait time for elevators.

Food quality was not good. Diner type of food, definitely not upscale. Not sure why they designate themselves as luxury. Also the cafe/lounge area/lobby was closed down for a private event from 3pm until the next morning and there was not where to hang around. Main areas should not be closed for private events when there are other guests checked in. Would not come back to this one. Waldorf DC was much better. Front desk staff was very nice though.

Boutique hotel in old bank building in Penn Station area. Friendly, well trained staff. Bellmen were especially helpful! Spacious King room with luxury and modern amenities. Elevated experience in bar and restaurant. We had a lovely Sunday brunch in the dining room. Great gym and cool speakeasy on the bottom floor. Our favorite DC hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay overall, the rooms were clean and the hotel it's self was maintained well. The only negatives were the water in the shower seemed to be on the cool side in the morning and also the restaurant seemed to be closed for private parties pretty frequently.

I had very high expectations for this hotel but was unfortunately pretty disappointed. The staff were wondering and so many of them made a special effort to engage with our young son. With that being said, the property itself cannot be a 5-star stay. First, there was a long black hair in our shower that says everything I need to know about the cleanliness of the facility. And that aside, the towels are scratchy, the beds have no support, the rooms are cute but leave a lot left to be desired, and overall the hype did not live up to the reality of this experience. I’m very surprised about the hotel rating. A few more positive notes would be that the rooms seemed very sound proof (unlike many others we’ve experienced in DC), the location cannot be beat, and our check in and checkout were seamless. We also had a good breakfast on our first morning.

The bathroom was very small. The shower was awful to work. The bedroom was tiny!!!!! They did not state it was less than queen bed but rather a full sized bed. Definitely not for a small family . Our two little girls didn’t even fit! Awful hidden fees. They charged us for amenities… that basically included a gym which we never used!!!! Our room wasn’t even clean! Found dirty socks in room!

The hotel building is beautiful and impeccably kept. We had a standard room. Room was beautifully decorated, clean, specious. There were two things that we were not satisfied with. The bathroom was small, but that's not the complaint. The complaint is that the door did not fully open in order to get into the bathroom. When you opened the door it stopped at the shower door and in order to enter the room completely you had to slide to the right next to the toilet then close the door, then enter the room to either shower or use the toilet. If we had been large people we would not have been able to do this. The second complaint is there is nowhere to put your clothes. There was a closet with 4 hangers to hang clothes, but no chest with drawers. As much as i loved the hotel and appreciate it's history and architecture, I will probably not return because of these matters.

I heard zero footsteps in hallways and above room. The soundproof rooms were a selling point. Sleeping somewhere different is always difficult for me because of noise. The location was also perfect.

Visually, this property is stunning. Beautiful, clean, upscale. Room is very pretty and immaculate. But it is not made for 2 people comfortably for more than 1 night. There is only 1 chair in the room. No real table or counter space. Sink space very limited. This place is ideal for an overnight stay because of it's beauty and general room comfort.

The set up in a queen deluxe room is okay but the shower set up is not the very best- also you can hear in a queen deluxe room on the third floor when people use the bathroom shower in the room next door which is quite annoying

My family recently stayed at The Riggs while we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff at the Riggs were always friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Garret and the other doormen always remembered us and welcomed us back each day and made sure we had what we needed, even making sure we got everything out of the Ubers we arrived in. The staff were also kind enough to deliver a bottle of champagne and a chocolate cake to us on arrival day to celebrate our special occasion and even included a card. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and well kept. We really enjoyed the warm coziness of the rooms with tasteful decor and color instead of the sad beige rooms we've had at other hotels. It was also wonderful to see throwbacks to the time the building was a bank, like the room number plates that resemble safe deposit box plates. Everything was clean and the complimentary robes, slippers, umbrella, and reusable bag were very nice to have. I also have to talk about the onsite restaurant, Cafe Riggs. The food was absolutely delicious. A few of our favorites were the Shakshuka, the salmon toast, and the goat cheese tart. The coffee was also a highlight for us. It was rich but not bitter in the slightest and was easily one of the best cups of coffee we’ve had. The location of the hotel is also perfect, it's in central DC and is only a block from the metro station or a quick Uber to most anything in DC. The Riggs staff always made sure we had everything we needed

Awesome hotel right in the middle of everything. Service was impeccable, quiet room and safe. Rooms were a little small for a guy over 6'3" but we were not in the room very much. Many great sights to see. Our dinner was for our 40th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. Our waiter suggested the lamb and it was a great choice.

The Riggs is in a great location too - all the main sites are walkable - the Mall is only a few minutes away from where you can see all the main sights including the Capitol and Washington Monument. If you need to go further afield, the Metro is very efficient and cheap, with a station not far from the hotel. In all an ideal location to explore Washington DC

Cafe Riggs is gorgeous and the food was wonderful. We had some drinks in Silver Lyan beforehand and loved the cozy lounge vibe. The staff was super friendly and were enjoyable to be with! The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Would stay again. The late night menu is lacking so eat before you get there if you’re arriving after 10pm. Only 2 choices. Other than than staff is accommodating, dining and lobby is stylish and buzzy. My 2nd time staying and would stay again.
