Riggs Washington DC

We were there for a short visit to go to the White House. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly from the time of arrival to checkout and anything in between. We will definitely be back! Thank you Riggs!

Located in the former Riggs National Bank building (once known as the "Bank of Presidents"), this hotel manages to be grand and historic without feeling like a dusty museum. It is bold, colorful, and meticulously designed. The Highlights of the Stay:Design Details: The "bank" theme is everywhere, but it’s done with incredible taste. The minibars are designed to look like vintage safes, and the guest rooms feature "jewel-box" aesthetics with rich velvets and Carrara marble. The "First Ladies" Suites: If you’re splurging, these suites are iconic. Each is inspired by a different First Lady’s personality—the Ida McKinley suite, with its vibrant pink palette and floral accents, is a total standout. Silver Lyan: Located in the original bank vault, this subterranean cocktail bar by Ryan Chetiyawardana is a destination in itself. The vibe is moody, the drinks are experimental, and sitting inside a literal vault adds a layer of "cool" you won't find anywhere else in Penn Quarter. The only meal we had at the hotel was a brunch at Café Riggs. Everything we ate was spectacular. The food was fresh, imaginative, and delicious.
