Bear Mountain getaway

Although we did not meet Heather, her communication was excellent. There was no problem finding her house. Parking was easy beside the suite. We found trails very close by which led to a forested area and the beautiful Valley Golf Course. The reviews on Jack's Place in the Bear Mountain complex were not favourable, so we retraced our steps to Langford and enjoyed our evening meal at the Log House. The Rack was way too noisy. The bottle of wine Heather left for us was a lovely touch. Our room was cosy, the bed very comfortable, loved the shower area, and good water pressure.

Difficult to find & hillside parking, but lovely room. We stayed up late, but sat outside for a quiet chat in the new subdivision. Nice starry sky. Bed was a bit high for me & it was a tad chilly. Unsure if we kept the hosts awake,as lots of foot traffic above on hardwood floors early morn. Still, hosts were kind & inobtrusive. Great deal for 2 on the Island. Thank you!

We arrived for a four day stay, plenty of room to unpack. Lots of hangers in closet and drawers to put things into. Beautifully decorated with a seating area that was not your bed. When we arrived a bottle of rose’ and chocolates awaited us. You have your own entrance so you can come and go without disturbing anyone. Its close to lots of restaurants, Jacks Place is only a 5 min drive or 15 min walk. Definitely would recommend it and would stay there again.

Room was ready when we arrived clean and well appointed with coffee bar, mini fridge and micro wave. Directions to to property were provided by the owner and were accurate. Instructions to gain entry were easy. Street parking was available. There is building construction in the area so daytime parking was a little tighter though we were out during the daytime. Walking trails everywhere with beautiful views. The owner experienced a personal tragedy and there was some noise related to abnormal owner-guest traffic. The owners were very apologetic and receptive to our feedback. We would stay again.

The proximity to Bear Mountain was perfect for a walk to dinner after our game. Beautiful unit with lovely decor (so much decor that there isn’t a lot of room to put your own things down) but lovely just the same. We were given a door code but since our unit doesn’t have a keypad a bit of hilarity ensued with the other guests!

This VRBO I would compare to a luxury hotel suite. The furniture is all high end with a comfortable queen bed and a bathroom with a nice shower. The space has south facing windows making it nice and bright. Comes complete with all the amenities a person would ever need. The outside has a private entrance with two small patio's, one in the sun and one covered in the shade. The space is perfect for two people. We would definitely stay here again.

My friend and I enjoyed our stay. It was conveniently located and the parking was perfect. We enjoyed our complimentary bottle of wine!

For someone allergic to dust it was a bit of a rough weekend. Place hadn’t been dusted for awhile

Perfect stay. Property was clean, and tidy.

This property is lovely. Very nice decor and linens. Nice touch with water and wine in the fridge! My only suggestion is it needed a good dusting. Bathroom fan very clogged with dust and tables and home decor; I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

We had a very comfortable stay in this studio suite. It was clean, nicely decorated and located in a nice area on Bear Mountain.

Overall it was it was a great place to stay. Agree with other reviews that it needs a little bit of dusting. We found that the sound proofing between suites and up stairs not so good.

We loved our stay at this property, we will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Victoria. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The unit was tastefully decorated. The hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. Thankyou!!

it's an upper class suburb with a golf course and a big hôtel. Only one restaurant nearby. We were expecting calm in such a neighbourhood. The streets are calm but the unit is not appropriate for a quiet stay. It's a basement room in a house with absolutely no sound prooffing. The hosts were immediatly receptive when we asked to turn down the AC. then we asked when did the "quiet time" starts; they were having a party with neighbours and we could hear almost everything. They moved the party on an outside patio so we were able to get to sleep until... the cleaning operation started, past 11PM. It seemed liked everybody put on hard shoes to come in an out of the room right upstairs our bed. Despite requests to keep the noise down, they ignored us and continued the noise until all the guests were out. At least they enjoyed their night. The place was clean and Bob is very sympathetic, but a lot of little intentions (coffee machine, chocolate, bottle of wine, etc.) don't make up to a ruined night sleep. Rest is the prime target of a sleepover stop like this one for people on vacation. We are more than disapointed and do not recommand this place to anybody who has normal hearing.

The first night there was a party above until after midnight and obviously there was no soundproofing making it impossible to sleep. We would have appreciated a heads up by the owner that this party was happening on the Friday night and we would have chosen another place to stay.

Overall good stay. Nice little unit, lower level of a big house. large windows, clean. Lots of clean towels. A nice welcome gift with bottle of wine and 2 bottles of water. No kitchen,but a microwave coffe maker and kettle, with lots of dishes and cutlery, tea and coffee. Great location in a nicer area of the city. Clean, outside very quiet. What we didn't like that much: *poor insulation,to the point that you can hear people talk on the level above.And them walking is crazy loud* *owner ignored my messages at the end of my stay* *Pillows are super hard* *Too busy with decor items*

Everything was carefully thought out. It was truly impeccable (and I am usually one to clean when I arrive at a lodging, be it an RB&B or hotel…) If we were to absolutely find a minus, we would say it was a little chilly although the heater made in difference. Thank you!

Overall a very nice place to stay. Only thing that was disappointing to us was the amount of noise that could be heard above us. People talking/walking. However, we would stay here again if our travels brought us back to the Island.

Great location & amenities as always. The usual wonderful comfort of this VRBO was hampered by the fact that it was quite cold (heater was off) when we arrived. Despite turning the heater to high the whole time we were there, it continued to remain quite cool, the first time we have experienced this. Obviously, the unusually below average temperatures were a factor.

Probably the most coziest place we have ever stayed at. The decor, candles, coffee/tea, books and wine were perfect. I didn’t want to leave the suite. The host was very accommodating and responsive. I would definitely recommend.

Ben and Heather are gracious hoat On Ben’s recommendation I was able to plan well and was able to navigate Victoria’s attractions with ease. The property is immaculately clean and the mountain surrounding is quite and beautiful

Heather’s place is in a beautiful, quiet area. A bit of a drive from Victoria, but it wasn’t difficult to spend the day there. The place was clean and comfortable. Communication with Heather was very easy. Would recommend this place.

Heather was a gracious hostess who made check in and out very easy. Bed was very comfortable and suite was beautifully decorated. We would definitely stay again!

This is one of the best VRBO studio units that we have stayed in. The unit was tastefully decorated, extremely clean, spacious and the bed was really comfortable! All of the extra touches and additions made it even better! It’s a short walk (or drive) to Bear Mountain golf course and Jack’s Place restaurant. We would definitely stay again if our travels bring us back to this area.
