Sunrise Inn Hershey

The room and pictures from hotel did not align. Peeling paint, stained carpet, huge gap between door and door frame. Morning breakfast was frozen pancakes and large box of cereal. Hotel staff was kind and put me and 11 year old daughter on second floor. Pool was scary looking.

When checking in, I was told that Expedia had canceled our reservation, but I had not received any communication to that effect. Property was a bit run down, but for an inexpensive place to lay your head for the night it was ok. The mattress was firm, but no blankets. Surprisingly, the pillows were good. The room air conditioner leaked and the carpet was wet. There was a kitchenette in the room with a stove, mini fridge and microwave. Curiously, there were no wastebaskets in the room, and there wasn't room for one in the bathroom. The pool was closed; I don't think it had even been opened. They had coffee and donuts for breakfast.

The website listed the property as non-smoking, with a pool and free breakfast. Although the room number signs all had the little no smoking symbol, it seems no one complied. There was a pool, but it was in no way useable. It had not been cleaned in some time, even though the tools were laying out on the deck. The room had been recently cleaned. That was apparent because a jug of cleaner was on the sink and a used cleaning rag was in the sink. I had to move them outside the door, because when I returned to the office to report it, the office was locked. The office was open in the morning when we went down to check out and get breakfast, but there was nothing much worth eating.

Would have been helpful had the sheets got changed but there was no room service of any kind. The pool was not operational. Sure could have used that.

I pulled in the lot and i was mortified at the sight of the run down hotel.it should be shut down by the board of health.the pool was even worse looked like a swamp with black fungus..rooms smelled like pee.i entered the room took a look around and left..oh also room door didnt even lock. Dont ever stay there at the sunrise inn in hershey.pa.

The beds were comfortable after having to ask for a blanket and a hair dryer. Rooms were bare bones. At check in had to ring a door bell and wait over 10 minutes for someone to come to give us a room key. Pool was shut down and no breakfast was served. Room service did not change towels or take out trash, we stayed 3 nights.

The sidewalks and stairs are in unsafe condition. The pool does not have anything stating its closed but the filter probably hasnt been ran in a year and its disguising. If

No one at office upon arrival. Door bell wasn't working. Dirty, Breakfast wasn't open. Not much parking and it seemed to be a place you rented for months not a weekend stay.

Went there because the hotel had a pool, but it was closed(has not been open for the summer). We were in the back of hotel and wifi did not reach, & our cell service was spotty. We did have tv and cable box But because the Wi-Fi don’t reach back there the TV was not hooked up.

It was convenient to stay in if going to Hershey Park. Check-in was easy & staff were friendly. The parking is very limited & the hotel really needs to be remodeled, as it is very dirty & outdated.

If you’re going to Hershey PA, it’s worth it to splurge on a hotel there. I chose this one because it was cheaper than the rest, and I understand why. The smell of cigarette smoke is so nauseating, it took me two full wash cycles to get the smell out of my clothes and kept me up all night long. The bathroom had hair on the floor, I didn’t even want to shower there (talk about GROSS!) the sink had dead bugs in it, the sink wall had stains, everything looked like they didn’t even clean the room. They just remade the beds lol. Please for the love of god don’t be cheap like I was and actually stay somewhere worth something.

Did not like anything. Left didn’t stay because of bedbugs. Filthy!! No other words needed. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

First of all. We got there and they had the office locked and we had to call the hotel manager and we waited forever for him to get there. The room itself, was extremely dusty and the floor hadn't been mopped in what looked like forever. There was a hole the bathtub. And, the room was very very dated. It said on hotels.com that there would be a back porch for use. And it was pilled to the ceiling with broken furniture and outdoor equipment. But that isn't even the worse part.... Our hot water heater went out and it took them 4 whole days to replace it. I have honestly never stayed in a worse in my life and we travel a lot. The maintenance man and the hotel manager wore the same clothes our whole vacation. If we could afforded it we would have went somewhere else. All though I do recommend visiting Hershey Pennsylvania. Everywhere else was great But hotels.com should really consider taking Sunrise Inn off of there listing because it was the worst.

Customer service was good. However, that is the only positive about this place. This " hotel" and I use the word hotel very loosely, is DESPERATELY in need of major upgrades. The door to the bathroom was so old, they only provided one little half roll of toilet tissue( mind you, its three people in the room) and you had to keep calling to get more. Needed more towels and the room service feature was non existent. I booked a non smoking room but it definitely smelled of cigarette smoke ( very old cigarette smoke). Had a very unpleasant odor. The lobby was dirty and old, the mattress had horrible yellow old stains on it( i dont even want to think what it could be). The complimentary breakfast was a joke, they only had cereal and coffee. Overall, i would not stay here again nor would I recommend this to anyone. Spend a little more for your stay and go somewhere a little bit nicer.

There were bugs in the bed. Place smelled of cigarettes.

This was one of the worst places I have stayed. There were bugs flying in the lights and dead cockroaches smashed into the walls. I did not even stay the night. When I went to tell the management I was not staying, they did not care. The manager looked at me and said "I only work here, call the owner".

I should have believed the bad reviews. I've stayed in many motels before, including in this are, but this was the first place I ever checked back out of in 30 seconds. At check-in the attendant gave us our key and basically begged us not to smoke in the room (first warning sign). Went to the room and of course it smelled like cigarette smoke. I thought maybe I can deal with this, but continued to have a look around. The room was not maintained, peeling paint on the door and walls, obvious disrepair. Again, not a total deal breaker. Anywhere I stay I usually pull the sheets back first to make sure they were clean. Pulled back sheets and found a small stain, pulled back more found a larger stain, then pulled back all the way and found a huge stain, all of which could only be described as old blood stains. Sheets were dirty (hair and other particles on the sheets) and threadbare. God knows what the mattress looked like and what was hiding in it... That was that, went right back to the office and checked out. I was fully prepared to stay in my car for the night in some gas station parking lot. The outside of the hotel was also in complete disrepair. The photos are all BS, I did not see anything at the hotel the looked anything even remotely like the pictures. The pictures must be from at least 10 years ago... Spend a few more bucks and go to any other motel... recommend the White Rose motel just down the road, clean as a whistle!

Dirty smelled like smoke. Burns on the sink and in the bathtub. Stayed for 5 minutes

Room decor was nice. Small fridge. No microwave. Beds were lumpy. Beds had a thin sheet with what felt like a thin curtain. Bathroom light holes showed filthy and grime.

U can tell people live there very noisy

The doors do not properly seal. So it was continuously cold in the room. The beds were like bricks. The fan in the bathrrom was so loud you couldnt turn on the light when usung the bathroom. Nothing close for convience. Had to go into town or past it for food or even a quick convience store. It ok for a cheap hotel and maybe a 1 night stay but i wouldnt recomend staying longer.

Unreliable WiFi issues, my wife and I couldn’t maintain a dependable connection in all our stay. We both use it for work. It was very disappointing and frustrating. We had to constantly leave to be able to work.

WiFi service was sluggish to none existent. TV should have the ability to access Apps. No fitted sheet on the bed , had a sheet just laying loose. For the price everything was ok.

We could not get the wi-fi to work. We called for help but did not get any help. The tv would not connect to the network so we couldn’t use the tv. No one was at the desk when we tried to get help. Thankful we were only there for one night.

The Wi-Fi signal doesn't work. Too far away from the signal. Check-in was locked, and the ring doorbell didn't work. Lots of regular tenants sitting around outside. Hope all is well tonight. The room looks nice.

I had to call someone to come to the office to check in. The wifi password provided didn't work so we had little cell phone service while there. (I'm a real estate agent so cell service and wifi are important where ever I go.) Overall, the rooms were average. Lighting was poor and the water coming from the faucet smelled funny. Office door was always locked because nobody was on duty. Website advertised breakfast, which was not provided. The mattresses were NOT covered with a bedbug cover. The hard floors and modern furniture were nice, along with the in-room mini fridge. Cheap rates are nice but you get what you pay for.

In the middle of the night you hear the people that LIVE in the motel making so much noise, at 4 in the morning we heard drilling and slamming stuff into buckets… at 9 am we had someone pounding on our door. Not a very pleasant stay.

I was yelled at by the property manager because the owner was unsatisfied with the rate i recieved on your website. They were angry because I paid less than what they thought i should have. That being said, i should have paid even less than what i did!! They were so irritated with me that when i stayed the second night, they moved me into a smaller room that looked like it wasnt properly cleaned in quite some time. Never again will i stay there. We will be packing up and leaving in the morning.

When you arrive you can't get into the office. Someone yells out a window from an upper floor to ask if you are checking in. The 2 rooms we reserved weren't near each other and appearance was totally different. One looked like they tried to remodel and the other is in need of a lot of repair. We were glad we had not reserved for more than one night. Will not go there again.

Pros: Excellent price, clean room, friendly staff and close to many things in Hershey. Overall: I didn’t pay for a luxury suit and I didn’t get one. I paid a minimal price and got a bed, tv, microwave, toilet and shower that worked well. It saved me a trip home from a late night show where I was drinking. I would go again.

They asked me to write my credit card info on the back of a piece of paper so they could take a $50 deposit because “a lot people hiding from the police stay here” and “the police came and tased two people here last night.” When I said I did not feel safe staying there they said they would not charge my card and I could coordinate a refund through Expedia however they haven’t responded to Expedia and I have not yet been issued my refund even though I didn’t end up staying there for safety reasons. Extremely frustrating experience. do NOT stay here!!!

The rooms are being remodeled. My room was and was thankful for that. Annette was very accommodating and pleasant. Thanks for the short stay!

Room smelled of old smoke. No worker was in office for check-in, had to call number on door. Worker came out of an upstairs room where he clearly lives. Very odd activity going on- people in and out of rooms. This was all observed in the 15 minutes I was there to check-in, look at the room, put key card back in key slot and leave. Next day. When call was placed to office to notify them they said they would refund me 50%. For real. You are running a half way house pretending to be a hotel. I forgot to mention the prostitute activity.

We were having an issue with a light and they switched our room and even helped us transfer our belongings. Missed having some sort of “breakfast” and coffee would have been great. Very convenient to everything.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The staff guided us into going to some wonderful places in Hershey and a great place for breakfast called the Filling Station.

Nice staff, double checked AC before we arrived. Older motel, but rooms are updated and clean. Couldn't get tv remote to work but was okay with it so didn't ask for assistance

We had a great time staying here, its location is super convenient and the staff was so friendly. The only thing that would have made it extra great is if there were coffee makers in the rooms. But that’s definitely not going to stop us from staying here again.

Hershey park was nearby.

Very funky place. Room smelled strange, we burned candles the entire time. There was an eerie downstairs/basement connected to our room with the light on, we locked that door. There was a back patio with old flooring and several 10+ old air conditioning units. We could not use the patio area. There were old signs and garbage everywhere. It looks like this place has changed hands and names several times and has not been kept up. It seems like people are living in this hotel, coming and going at all hours of the day and night. Wifi and TV did not work well, I had to use my own hotspot and my own roku. You're situated kind of far from attractions and restaurants in Hershey.

Great place to stay if your going to Hershey Park The people that work there are so helpful and nice and accommodating

Very close and convenient to Hershey Park (our reason for visiting) for a great price. We had a couple of “hiccups,” but the staff were extremely friendly and quick to fix/help us out, and communicated well about what they were doing to assist us. We booked a non-smoking room for 2 nights but left after the first night and booked another hotel elsewhere at our cost. The room stank of cigarettes and all the owner did to try and resolve it was use some Lysol spray as air freshener and left us the van in case we needed more. He had no other room available to transfer us to so we had no choice but to stay in that room. The rooms are small and the smell of the cigarettes was in the air conditioning and as an asthmatic I could hardly breath or sleep. We packed up in the morning and left. He did mention they fine the previous person $100.00 if they smoke in a room but what about the poor people that book that room afterwards? A can of spray doesn’t fix the problem. If you are a non smoker I would definitely not recommend. Also the bathroom was very old and had dirty marks or stains on the bathtub. The stay was also supposed to include breakfast but when we went to have breakfast at 8.30am there was a sign on the store saying breakfast was closed. He said on check in he had been short staffed but that doesn’t excuse not providing what was paid for.

Not much renovation being done to this place. Holes in the walls in hallways, broken bathroom fan, stained mattresses, expired food on breakfast area. Staff were friendly but the amount of damage and disrepair make this A place to sleep and not much else.the facilities photos in hotels don’t match what the place really looks like.
