Our regular Furano hotel was fully booked in July 2022 along with most other hotels in Furano. Our search turned up Chalet Burlap Furanui so we gave it a try. It's a cute boutique hotel just a short walk from the Furano Kitanomine ski area. Free parking across the street, onsen on site along with free happy hour drinks! However, the best feature of this property is the warm and friendly staff that make you feel welcomed! Rates are reasonable and include a hot breakfast. It was a pleasant surprise for us and we would definitely stay again.

Perfect place for a ski trip. Close to the resort, shops, food and public transportation. Very friendly and helpful staff. I only got the names of Emma and Albert, but all the staff were great people. They went out of their way to help as much as possible. They speak English. Cool lobby/bar/lounge area. Dry ski room storage. Shuttle from station. Good breakfast.

Staff very friendly and willing to help. The Happy Hour (3 in fact) they offer a great deal and gives you the opportunity to meet other guests.

Albert saved me. My back went out on the plane. He saw my distress and kindly moved my heavy luggage up the stairs to my room. Onsen helped relieve my pain. Draft beer also helped as well as free whiskey. Only downside is as thin walls and 3am snow removal.

改装済みで、中は大変綺麗でした。朝食が非常においしく、大満足でした。温泉も熱めで気持ちよかったです。朝、温泉の洗い場の蛇口から出るお湯がしばらく出していても（2泊しましたが2泊とも）温かくなりませんでした。たまたまだったのかわかりませんが、朝風呂に入る人は要注意だと思います。

Loved our stay at Chalet Burlap! Hotel was not the newest but has a very traditional Japanese rustic charm - very very clean!! We had the traditional tatami rooms which were very nice and comfortable. The staff were always smiley and happy to help and welcome drink in the lobby was a nice touch!

Told hotel way ahead that we are reaching ard 11pm, but no special instructions was given. Only messaged through hotel.com on the day itself as we are traveling there that their reception closed at 10pm. They mentioned about leaving the keys at front desk. Booked for 2 adult and 1 child, a room with 2 single beds n 2 futon, but only 2 bed when checked in. Check-in document mentioned child stays free. Then 2nd night the reception told us our child too old to be free and charged us the whole stay including the pervious night when no preparation was done for our child. Unreasonable. Description claimed a few languages spoken, but 3 receptionist we spoken too all struggled with English. So when we explained that it is unreasonable to charge us when they didn't prepare anything for our child on the 1st night, the receptionist just kept repeating herself and told us to message them instead as she can't explain in English. Throughout the stay, noone explained about the amenities in the chalet. Bottomline, don't engage this chalet through hotel.com. The charges are not transparent. Extra charge of around 33% more.

Chalet Burlap Furanui is an excellent option if visiting Furano for a ski trip (after three visits to Furano previously, this has been the favourite accommodation wrt value for money). Our room was very spacious with an ensuite, the onsite onsen is a massive bonus, and the breakfast is great! Short walk to the ski hill, and the service from everyone working there was excellent. Highly recommend.
