voco St Augustine Historic Area by IHG

We arrived on the premises a little prior to check-in time and we were delighted to see our room was ready. When in St-Augustine last time prior, we had stayed at the famous CM hotel but weren't enamored with the $500 room so decided to try something else this time around. Although this hotel is located across the bridge from OLD St-Augustine, it was totally worth it. Let's start with the manager, Erick. He made sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. They have a nice Wine & Beer area and right on the other side of the doors, a nice pool area. The atmosphere is fresh, clean and modern, properly taken care of. I don't think you can find a better managed hotel for the price. Staying on the "other" side of the bridge was well worth it, especially with the FREE Parking ( most hotels charge $25/night for parking ) and would definitely recommend it to anybody who is looking for a great and affordable hotel in St-Augustine.

Quick walk to historic area. Small hotel and pool. Room was available early as well.

Elevator did not work had to carry luggage 2 flights to stairs up and back. Overvall the stay way fine. But no view, choice of busy street or parking lot. Breakfast was good. Location wasn't bad to walk to old town

Nice quiet Hotel with a small rooftop pool, beer/wine bar and restaurant. The location is great, about a 20 minute walk to the historic district that has plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and museums. There's a small taco shop across the street and a pub next door. This hotel is a great option if you want to visit St. Augustine but don't want to deal with the traffic downtown. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and ice cold (great added bonus for the florida summer heat). They also have a covered parking lot. Overall I had great experience for a low price and will definitely return for my next trip. Cannot recommend enough!

Modern/retro, spotless, easy parking, dining nearby, walkable to Old Town

Nice place. Pool was small though and not in the sun. Room was clean and nice. A tad noisy at times but very clean.

I never leave bad reviews, but I felt the need to write this as a possible warning for the next person looking to book this place. I have only one complaint and I don’t know if it’s specific to room 239, but the room reeked of paint or some other toxic smelling chemical. We were told the hotel and the surrounding area hotels were all booked for the Georgia/ Florida game. Go Dawgs! I came home with a lot of clean clothes I had hanging in the closet ( I overpack ) and they all had that terrible odor and everything clean ended up in the laundry or will need to be dry cleaned. If it’s just room 239, please don’t put anyone else in that room until it’s aired out. If anyone with asthma or any lung ailment should not be in that room.

I only stayed there two nights because we found a cockroach in our bathroom. I’m trying to get my money put back in my credit card. I have a weeks charge. We left after two days

The hotel was updated and very clean. Everyone we came in contact with was very kind and helpful! The property was in a great location close to downtown and not far from the beaches. I highly recommend the property and we will be staying again.

Very clean modern Art Deco style hotel

After driving five hours to drop my child off at college, I came into the hotel at around 2 PM. I know check-in is at 3, but when I got there, the hotel was completely empty. There wasn’t a car in the parking lot or garage. When I walked to registration, the clerk was too busy filling the soda refrigerator to turn around and help me. I said I’m checking in and he said you’re gonna have to come back later. I don’t have any rooms ready. Silence. I have never had anyone say that to me. It wasn’t like I was coming at 11 AM. It was 2 PM on an 3 PM check-in. When I came back at 9 PM, the new desk clerk was extremely helpful and kind of alluded to the previous clerk not helpful without me complaining. In fact, he even offered my family a free drink from the cooler. If you read the reviews of the hotel, you’ll see that people have had trouble with clerks being helpful. If you know that you have a clerk that’s not helpful and doesn’t understand what hospitality is maybe perhaps they need more training or a new clerk. On top of that issue the hotel allows dogs, which is fine but when your walls are paper thin and the dog barks endlessly, that’s not a good combination. In the morning, I was woken up by an alarm set in the vacant next room. The walls were so thin that I could hear the alarm as if it was in my room. In addition, the toilet wasn’t properly cleaned. There was fecal residue. Overall, now what I expected from a boutique hotel.

Wonderful, clean place, I do recommend.

One of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. They moved our room three different times and still it was disgusting. Even tried to put us in someone else’s room and didn’t realize it was occupied. The staff continued to speak poorly about one another and point fingers to why our stay was so poor. Do not believe the pics you see online! Stay anywhere else.

Nice clean hotel, staff very friendly, went out of the way to accommodate our needs. Parking under hotel convenient, nice bar and friendly bartender. Hotel had golf cart transportation for a nominal fee over to city. Came and picked us up when we called to come back to hotel. Driver Eric was excellent. Only complaint we had was shower was luke warm. Didn’t get hot as we took cool showers. Talked with another guest who said same thing. Overall would go back again this spring and enjoy the pool.

The showers were tepid. Hotter water preferred. Beds very comfortable.

Hotel is very nice, comfy beds and location good to downtown St Augustine. Only downfall is we arrived late 9pm after all day travel and were given a room right next to lobby and directly next to kitchen. Banging started 6:30am (on day light savings so really 5:30am) which woke us up then when breakfast started 7:00am it got loud. Would recommend hotel just request a room away from kitchen/lobby

The staff were very nice. The property was a good value and a nice location. Short walk over the bridge to the historic area. Felt safe walking at night. The only real issue is the noise. You can hear street traffic and voices all night. We did not complain to staff because they have no control over the street traffic and noise. I did use a white noise app and that was helpful. Overall nice stay.

Super quiet and very helpful staff

Expensive for what it was. Told me when we checked in they were overbooked for a King room so we got downgraded with no refund offer but instead a breakfast voucher. The entrance to our room was literally in the main lobby. Hotel was noisy, people above us were stomping around all night. Charged me $4 for a “market” purchase when I didn’t buy anything. Wouldn’t stay again, wouldn’t recommend.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! Very accommodating and friendly. The property is vibrant and beautifully maintained, and a short walk from downtown. Will definitely stay here again!

Very professional staff, great breakfast.

Stay was fine, decent place at a decent price. At checkin, the staff member made a comment about booking using a 3rd party, saying he wished we hadn’t done that. We laughed and said just don’t charge us twice. He assured us he wouldn’t. At checkout they said we didn’t owe anything. 2 days later they charged me for the room again. I’ve spent hours on the phone trying to get a refund with no success, they’ve even hung up on me when calling the front desk. Cannot recommend this property. Great location, awful unhelpful staff.

It was very clean and nice. It was very convenient to get to the st. Augustine amphitheater and historic downtown.

Great property. Very quiet and comfy beds. Walk across the Lions Bridge and you are there in DT Augustine.

This hotel is the perfect distance to travel into historic St. Augustine. It was about a 5 minute drive.

This was a great spot. Just a short walk over the bridge for shopping and looking around. The bed was super comfortable and everything was very clean and updated. Stayed here to see Billy Idol at the amphitheater.

Nice hotel. Walkable distance to downtown attractions and dining. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed so no breakfast was available.

We noticed a lack of organization at the hotel. For example, when we went to breakfast at the scheduled time, there was no staff to prepare it, and the front desk responded that during christmas holidays there was little staff when the demand in this city is high at these times. The next day we found a continental breakfast and the staff told us that the kitchen was broken and that was barely what they could do, the breakfast plates were dirty as well as the cutlery, at least they put a box of plastic cutlery and those were the ones they use. At the end of the stay, they did not want to give me the invoice, they told us that Expedia would send it and it never I received it.

I like Voco an amazing hotel. The lattes at the bar for breakfast $4 amazing and delicious. Nice cozy 2 floor hotel. House keeping and staff very nice, friendly and helpful.

We selected this hotel because it had a bar and restaurant. When we arrived, we were told the bar was not open because the bartender had quit. This should have been on the site. When we asked if we could get a glass of wine the hotel receptionist tried but there was a very limited selection of wine. No Pinot Grigio, no Chardonnay. Terrible experience. will not recommend.

Stay was perfect everything was great the only complaint was the breakfast was not very good at all would rather go and eat out for breakfast somewhere else service was great though everything else was perfect just food quality was very bad.

A mid range hotel with good well equipped rooms, excellent staff and good breakfast. Ten/fifteen minute walk to centre. Would recommend for good value and good facilities
