The gym was great. The terrace was closed berween 11am to 5pm, so there were no place to sit outside and enjoy the 25 degrees and sunshine. Since the hotel specified they had a terrace and a garden, it actually was disappointing. When addressed to the staff, she said it was not her fault....

The hotel was undergoing some construction at the time and so the common areas and amenities that we were looking forward to using, and which were part of the reason for us booking this hotel we’re not available. This would’ve been relevant information to have been shared with prior to or upon booking because we would’ve changed our decision and booked somewhere else that was less expensive and with other similar available amenities. Also, the entrance into the hotel was not clear due to the construction and the desk clerks did not look up or greet you as you walked past them in the morning.

Beautiful room with comfortable bed and furniture. Gorgeous lighting and nice shower. Friendly staff. Hotel is still under interior renovations, new bars and restaurants being built. Only one restaurant/bar. No pool/hot tub. Room service was unavailable after midnight, despite front staff saying it was available 24/7. Website glitch, possibly.

Oct 12 - Oct 21 / 1150. My husband and I were in Toronto for hip replacement surgery for my husband. Shout out to the entire staff of the hotel for extra attention to our specific needs with that process and his limited mobility before and after the surgery. Extra large shout out to Irene, our room cleaning lady, as she went above and beyond to accommodate pre-surgical requirements in providing clean linens, organizing a larger frig and a microwave for our use in the room! other comments - the gym? Top notch facility, wow. TONO - excellent food/service! recommend letting people know that Friday and Saturday nights have a loud DJ on site, not the same quiet dining experience as during the week.

The hotel is under major renovations so there is a lot of noise. There are no public spaces to sit and the only available space is the restaurant where you are forced to purchase their food otherwise you can’t sit there. I’m sure it will be better once renovations are over but not a great environment in the meantime for the price.

Would love to say it was a completely relaxing experience, but sadly I can't - the first two nights (or I guess mornings, to be precise) the fire alarm went off at around 6.15am and we all had to evacuate onto the street. Once would have been slightly inconvenient, but when it happens two days in a row, you find yourself going to bed each night after, wondering whether you'll be woken up early again or delayed getting ready due to another fire alarm, which is the opposite of relaxing. The staff were all incredible, though - some of the most friendly, helpful, and considerate people you could meet, and they all went out of their way to help in whatever way they could. Room smelled slightly of stale cigarettes, and the smell didn't clear after several days so I'd suggest the furnishings either need a deep clean or to be replaced. Other than that, very comfortable bed and pillows, and the room amenities were very nice too.

We stayed at the W for 5 nights and were blown away by the cleanliness of the hotel, staff was super helpful and accommodating and it’s connected to the train station so that made it easier for us to get around. Will definitely stay here again!

The location was 10/10. Free waterbottles and nespresso were a plus! The train is literally downstairs one door over and it was extremely convenient to get anywhere. The staff were lovely, room was clean and the lighting was really customizable for different moods. Bed was really comfortable. I didn’t mind but the washroom is open concept so just make sure you’re friendly with who you’re rooming with ! Hallway noise is not very muffled but it wasn’t overly common.

This hotel is tired. It has been nicely renovated but is still tired. We had a room on the courtyard and not only was the room tiny, but it got no natural light which was a theme throughout the hotel. We only stayed 1 night and I'm glad.

Lovely staff and clean room. Room layout was very odd with no separate bathroom. It is odd walking directly into the room from the shower with no privacy. Walls were very thin, so you could hear other guests in the halls at all times. The lighting panel was also very difficult to control and confusing. You can tell this hotel was converted from a previous hotel and I don’t think the layout of the hotel meets the intended price point or W hotel standard.

WiFi service was awful, we asked the front desk about this and they did not have an alternative. In addition, the refrigerator in the room was not in service, could not refrigerate my medication. Lastly, we arrived early morning and at 3:30 pm to check in and there was still no clean room for us.

I very much liked the location to Yorkville but unfortunately that was about it. The room’s Air conditioning was not working and after numerous calls to the front desk, they assured me that it would be taken care of. I left the room to go out for the evening at 8pm and came back at 1:20am and it still was not fixed. The front desk then asked for a 3rd time if I wanted a technician to come and fix it but told her I was exhausted and to send up a fan. The next morning I mentioned my displeasure as I checked out and the front desk staff was kind enough to waive the $75 parking fee and offered to pay for breakfast. I appreciated this offer but declined and left. I am very disappointed in this hotel and expected much more after spending nearly $500 for the one night. I would never recommend staying here.

The property’s common spaces are beautifully designed and the staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I also enjoyed that I could get to the subway without ever leaving the hotel. Super convenient. That said, the room itself had several questionable design features that would lead me to likely book elsewhere on my next visit to Toronto. For one, the lights cannot be individually controlled. They’re pre-set to 3-4 different settings controlled by a panel. This was incredibly frustrating because the room was always either too bright or too dark for me and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Secondly, due to the room’s design (no traditional bathroom), the vanity mirror is in the middle of the room, but facing away from the natural light coming through the window. It has a dim (pointless) light around it, and there no light above the mirror either, so the mirror was completely useless because you cannot actually see yourself in it. I have seen this feedback shared across several platforms, but it seems nothing has been done to remedy. Finally, every single night there was a random and inconsistent drill-like noise that seemed to come from one of the rooms around me, but no one could pinpoint what it was. This didn’t last long, but when it did happen, it was off and on for around 45 minutes. Every single night.

Tried to check into our suite at 7:30pm only to be told it wasn’t ready. Hotel states check-in from 3pm. Offered us complimentary dinner, returned home to find I’d been charged for it anyway. When I contacted the property they told me it was a “pre-authorisation” charge. It wasn’t. I was charged twice this amount. Will never stay here again

Got to the hotel and it was overbook. They sent me to another hotel. Not a great experience but its more the fault of Expedia not The W. Who really knows but after traveling all day and arriving only to have this happen was very disappointing.

Good customer service is really hard to come by now a days. I work in the customer service business and I was absolutely blown away by every single staff member I dealt with. I have never been treated so well at a hotel in my life. Chef Karan went above and beyond and allowed me to store product in his walk in cooler and assisted me with anything I needed. The concierge made some really great recommendations and the front desk staff were excellent! Thank you for helping me find my new favourite hotel chain!

Our first time at this W and it was really nice stay. Convenient location and walkable to restaurants and shopping. The staff was wonderful. Vincent at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. I would definately return when i come back to Toronto. Having a mini market (Longo's) next door was super convenient.

Neither the coffee shop or the main level bar were open when we stayed, even though it was a weekend, which was disappointing. Hotel design is cool and the rooms are super well laid out and functional. Found a pair of black latex gloves in our room after the daily cleaning service which wasn’t ideal, but it was generally a great stay and we would definitely book again.

Th W is a modern , stylish hotel. The suite was spacious with a fantastic shower. The downside is the room service breakfast was cold and super expensive. The breakfast tray was left in the hall but a half eaten roll was left on the floor. The lobby bartender was cold and impersonal. The bell hop complained about a tip in US dollars. One night we brought sandwiches back to the room but needed mayonnaise. We called for a packet of mayonnaise. The hotel wanted to charge us $10 plus gratuity. That's ridiculous. A pat of butter ordered on day one remained in the room for six days.

This hotel is modern and chic with such friendly staff and amazing service. They made me feel so special for my birthday! We dined at the Skylight restaurant on the rooftop and the food and drinks were unique and delicious.There was also a complementary mixology class in the evening, which was an amazing additional activity to our stay.

Great hotel in the heart of Yorkville — rooms were spacious (although weren't a fan of the doorless bathrooms when travelling with my mother!) and clean. Was a shame that there was only the lobby bar as the only option to eat. Would recommend staying here.

We had a great stay over the pride weekend which also was my bday. They had the room decorated and everything ready on our arrival. Kim in the living room provides fantastic service as always! Can’t tell you enough how her being there keeps us coming back every time! Room service was delish. Room was in great shape and loved the location!
