Hotel Puri Melaka

Nice, clean room with a cosy ambience. Staff were friendly and welcoming! Beautiful Peranakan-style hotel within walking distance to the buzzing Jonker Street. Although the aircon in my room is “roaring” at times, it doesn’t bother me at all and I slept through the night.

Everything staff, room, just perfect, even the spa massage. The staff even remembered us from our last visit.

The location is ideal. The building is an old baba nyonya mansion. Granted it’s not what it was, I’m sure!, but it’s authentic, beautiful and comfortable. The Malay people are so nice! Thank you!

I am sorry to give this rating, but in my opinion the hotel does not meet a 3-star standard overall. Please don’t get me wrong—the hotel itself is charming, and I appreciate the antique furniture and decorations that come with an older building. However, the cleanliness was below expectation. The bathroom items appeared worn and not well maintained, there was thick dust on the light fixtures, and the slippery mat was yellowed and unhygienic. I sincerely hope the management will consider upgrading the facilities, especially by replacing old bathroom mats and carrying out a more thorough cleaning, to better match the hotel’s potential.
