Budget Inn Horseheads

A great deal for a very comfortable and clean motel in a good location right on I-86 The rooms are non-smoking, but smell a bit like smoke when you first enter. After 5 minutes I did not notice - AND the rooms are otherwise very clean.

The place was perfect for what we needed it for. We were hiking out all day and just needed a quiet clean place to shower and sleep. For the price it was wonderful, convenient parking in front of the room. Clean room and bathroom. Working air conditioner and peace.

The room was pretty clean and recently remodeled. There was a bit of a smell, almost like cat pee? I’m not sure if it was coming from another room or outside or what but it did get better after the first night. Check in was easy. Overall pretty decent for the price.

My friend and I had a great stay here on a long road trip. We booked last minute and ended up getting in very late, around midnight, so we were very worried that we might have trouble checking in. Happily, that wasn't the case at all, and the staff member at the check in desk was very helpful and welcoming. For us, sandwiching a night of sleep in between two full days of driving, the bed was the only truly important thing in the room, but for other guests who might do more that just collapse into bed, I'd say the room was pretty darn comfortable, with AC, plenty of charging outlets, a desk, and a generally well-kept vibe. We were given the wifi password with our room key, but didn't use it, so I can't speak to the quality of that, but it was nice to be provided it. Both of us felt safe the whole time we were there, no sketchiness with parking, no loud neighbors, and no worries about privacy. We were able to relax quickly and get a good night's sleep. At check out, we were asked about the quality of our stay and if everything had been good for us, which was kind of the staff. We spent a little time messing with the car's GPS before we left, and while we were in the parking lot, I noticed housekeeping was already headed to our room, which made me feel like the staff was quick and attentive, and that cleanliness and preparation were important to them. Overall, a really short stay but a very pleasant one!

All obviously has been fairly recently remodeled and pleasant. The only downside is the room odor control that so many hotels use, that I find rather offensive to breath. However, my own air purifier pretty well dealt with cleaning that up as I went for a nearby buffet supper. Hotel was very easy to get to and then back on major highway.
