The food was good and the hotel was well kept. Most of staff were friendly and helpful. On my last day,I was asked several times throughout the day for my wrist band by security. I was a little bothered. My wrist band was clearly visible on my wrist.

I stayed at Princess Senses Mangrove from July 16–18 to celebrate my birthday, and I can honestly say this was one of the worst resort experiences I’ve ever had. I came to Jamaica excited to celebrate a special occasion, but I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and honestly wondering how a resort that markets itself as luxury could provide such poor service from beginning to end. Before I even arrived, I paid $150 USD for birthday decorations in my room and have the email confirmation proving everything was arranged. Imagine finally getting to your room on your birthday only to find absolutely nothing there. It completely took the excitement out of the moment. The only resolution I was offered was a $50 refund, which felt like a slap in the face considering they failed to provide something I paid for in full. One thing that should absolutely be disclosed before guests order anything is the $15 room service service fee. I stayed on the Mangrove side, where every room service order carries this charge, and after 10:00 p.m. it’s charged on either side of the resort. That information was never communicated during booking or check-in. Guests should not have to discover additional fees after placing an order. Basic transparency shouldn’t be optional. The biggest issue throughout my entire stay was the complete lack of communication. No one tells you there’s a resort app that has the daily activities, restaurant information, room service menus, maps, and everything else you —

This is my first stay at Princess. This is a huge and yet beautiful hotel. I wanted to stay in the vicinity where people were impacted with Hurricane Melissa. My intention is to give 4.5 stars but this was not allowed. I took off a star because there was a musty smell in the bedroom. I had to sleep with the door opened and one night with mask on. It smells like a closed basement. The breakfast was good. Ackee and saltfish, calaloo, bok choy delicious but salty. The Reef (one of the restaurants) served delicious lunch for every palate. I like the in-house ice cream. It is a clean hotel. The bedroom needs air purifier and deep cleaning. Overall, good hotel, helpful staff and very good security in place.
