Motel 6-Bessemer, AL - Birmingham

Parking was easy and secure. The parking lot is gated and you need a key to enter. The room was modest but fine.

Although the night staff that helped me Jason was really nice the hotel was very small it did not have a microwave or refrigerator there was a hit and run literally 30 minutes after I got to the hotel the next day the Hotel was shot up and the police was on the scene when I got home from work it's very ghetto and it's not nowhere that I would advise people to have their kids but it is cheap and if you're not afraid of everybody looking at you as if you're an alien then you're okay

The staff is vary friendly and the place is very quiet. The gard at night makes sure your car is safe also.

There was a security gate and guard posted when I arrived late - that was nice to see as he was checking the person in front of me to make sure they belonged there as I checked in.

Easy to access from interstate, staff was super nice, an we liked that a security guard was outside when we took our dog out at 1 a.m. we felt safe.

Booked a room as we were going through there. Got there about midnight. I have lived in conditions like this, so it was familiar, but never again. People high as hell, hooting' and hollering until 5 am, then I started reading the reviews on this place. Couldn't fall asleep because I was worried I'd have to beat a tweaker for breaking into my vehicle. The room is subpar, had a bed at least to sleep, or try to. Took a shower but didn't feel clean kind of room. No breakfast, but I don't blame them, coffee was offered. The pool looked the best out of everything surprisingly. Didn't use it as we were just headed through and just stopped for rest. Sad I didn't get to see an episode of cops here like the reviews suggest. Would have been entertaining at least.

No microwave or fridge

The pool is very murky, the rooms are OK especially for the price. The outside of the hotel looks kinda rundown if you get a queen bed or a single bed room, you have to go upstairs. Which makes no sense because you would think disabled would be downstairs so they should have one bed rooms downstairs there’s no elevator so there’s no way for handicap to get upstairs.

Let's start by saying I've stayed here before so I knew what I was expecting room wise and what is advertised is the room I expected, but didn't get. The clerk was rude... The water in the pool looks nice though.

Comfortable relaxing just wish i had a fridge

No towels and had to wait 4hrs to get them to us! Roaches running around the room, burnt holes in all the blankets, very dirty and FILTHY outside. We should have been given a full refund!!

It was a very unpleasant experience all around. Dirty room, screaming lady in the middle of the night needing help from a guy. Dirty room and holes all in the walls

Roaches galore, tiny shower w dirty cloth shower curtain, extremely old beds w stained bedding. We didn’t even stay here and def didn’t unload into it!

Burn holes in bedding, hair on sheets, floors were dirty, obvious spills that were not cleaned. Property smelt of weed, other guest were VERY loud and walls are paper thin. Overall, dirty, gross, not a place you want to stay! Spend the extra $20 and get yiurself a good night's sleep

This was absolutely disgusting. Even when the hotels are full do not stop here. Theres leaking air conditioning units everywhere, mattresses laying out, roaches, filthy showers, floors and sinks. I 100% feel sure there’s bed bugs. Take it from me and keep driving.

The only thing positive about my experience was this place was under construction of renovation. And with roach infestation, bedbugs and an unfriendly staff made the pricing unbelievable.

Bed bugs it was terrible

The place is currently under reconstruction and I keep my can of bug spray handy. One room was heavy in bed bugs so I asked for another. And these are the consequences of cheaper prices.

I would not stay here again. Roaches, bed bugs, unclean bathrooms, people staid up till 6 or 7 in morning and doors slammed all night

I was just not comfortable with my stay at the motel 6. Are room was dirty and the bathroom light was messed. Behind the bed was really dirty. We could literally hear everything through the walls and outside.

Entry door needs repair

It was ok for the one night I stayed. If I had a longer trip planned, I would have gotten something different. Small room and small bathroom with a shower only-no bathtub. It was nice and clean when I looked inside. You can hear people talking and walking outside the room so the walls aren’t sound proof. They said they charged me twice for the $50 reserve fee, so they credited that back to my account. I’m glad the staff was honest about that. All in all, it is a nice motel if you don’t need too much.

door was bent and had to use towels to keep the cold air from blowing in. had a delay at check in due to motel 6 using ipad's which had a dead battery due to a bad charger that the management had supposedly been made aware of earlier in the day but failed to fix the problem.

The staff was courteous but the room I got had unglued baseboards and the door handle was broken. I was too tired from driving all day to change rooms that night so I didn’t ask for a different room. But they should not have assigned a room that wasn’t repaired.

The bathroom floor not good, bed boarding wasn't good, and bathroom shower too small.

Check in was super easy. Keisha, at the front desk is super sweet and welcoming. Ill definitely stay again. Clean, peaceful, friendly and accommodating.

Ashley checked me in. She is very friendly & helpful. I would go see her for a few minutes before she finished work. We talked about Bessemer & what a wonderful town it is. She said it was a safe town and a great place to raise a family. People would come to the desk & no matter what they needed, she was efficient & took care of everyone who needed something. Mr P was there in the morning to greet everyone with a nice hot cup of coffee. He was very friendly & helpful with directions. I planned to stay one nite, but the people, the room, the pool was so enjoyable that l stayed an extra nite. The place has no negative people hanging around & they have security for all who might want to know the quality of safety. A suburb place for a family with young children, the elderly with convenient handicap parking & everyone in-between. The beds are a dream to sleep on & maid service is very efficient. I will always return to this place when l go to B'ham. It's got downhome flavor!!

Staff was very uncooperative and extremely uninformed, made this a nightmare to book for my brother. Didn't have any idea what was going on. And were very rude to me

Staff is attentive, place is well kept.

The bare minimum is provided, but for the price, as they say, you get what you pay for! The manager at the desk was excellent.

This property seemed very unsafe. There were ppl hanging outside and it seemed sketchy. It was very loud and i couldn't sleep. The bathroom especially the shower was disgusting. It took 24 hours to wvwn get the tv to work. I will never stay at a motel 6 again. I wouls love the money back that we spent.

I was reluctant to book but I could see the sign from my brother’s room at the rehab center. I was really tired and glad there was a place to rest so convenient to UAB West. To my surprise, it was tidy and comfortable. And affordable. Just what I needed when I needed it. I wasn’t necessarily a fan of some of the folk lollygagging on the grounds but I suppose it’s no one’s fault I guess. I was comfortable in the room. I managed to get a good nights rest so I could journey on.

WOW!!! If you enjoy the smell of a blunt w crack this place is for you. Decided to not stay and drive a little further. Long term renters that hang out on stair ways. ! I felt my odds were bad. DO NOT STAY HERE. I didn’t even ask for my money back. Was worth my $100 to get out of there quick
