Both the door to the room and the bathroom squealed when moving them so it was impossible for one person to sleep through them being moved if the other needed to use the bathroom, or go out.

Our 4 night stay at Huygens Place, a 10-star experience! The entire staff does their best to ensure your stay is a very pleasant one. The room size adequate, clean, and the bed and pillows comfortable for my wife and me. Our room overlooked a charming courtyard. And I chose this hotel not only based on the location in Amsterdam to some of the sights we planned on seeing, but also plenty of 9, & 10-star reviews. And the photos of the dining room for their hearty buffet breakfast choices - cinched the deal. Hotel location by cafes, shops, and a pharmacy. And book tickets early (before arriving to Amsterdam to see the Van Gogh Museum, and especially, the Anne Frank House), if you are so inclined to enjoy special attractions. And yes, in case your Dutch is rusty or nonexistent (like ours was!), rest assured, the entire staff speak English. And what was impressive, was that we learned that English is taught to Dutch children in elementary school or sometimes a higher grade, but mandatory. Plus, getting an Uber throughout The Netherlands was an easy-peasy experience. What our 2nd trip to The Netherlands and Amsterdam reminded us, was that bicycles Are The Common Mode Of Transportation. And if coming to this bustling city is your 1st time, be mindful - that bicyclists have the right-of-way. Bike riders have their own lanes, are seen EVERYWHERE and moving at a SUPER FAST CLIP. Look both ways constantly when out and about. ** We truly enjoyed Huygens Place Hotel.
