Lovely staff very friendly & helpful, near the harbour & beach & in the middle of the town Our bedroom was lovely , really comfortable bed & pillows , the only thing i would suggest is perhaps add a small fridge , we were given complimentary water & beer in the room but no where to chill either. Also the steps are extremely steep which some of the older guests had problems with

Superb hotel, room was excellent quality newly decorated, great shower, even a couple beers included. Staff very friendly, breakfast I had English day 1, eggs Florentine day 2 and a salmon cream cheese and chives bap day 3, all included in the rate. There are very few hotel options in Whitstable and this must be the best. Right by beach, short walk to harbour, middle of the shopping street full of small boutiques. Highly recommended. Be aware there are steep steps to the bedrooms!

However, the room itself Emmeline, couldn’t have been nicer, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. A small fridge in the room would have made it perfect. Staff was really friendly. Breakfast excellent with plenty of choice. No parking at the hotel itself but plenty of car parks nearby - hotel gives you details of these. If you’re prepared to walk a bit further you can park cheaply at the co op at the bottom of the high street using the parking app.

Great pub with rooms, we stayed in room 8 which was a bit of a climb to the top floor but well worth it. Its enormous.

What a lovely place the rooms are beautiful the food and service amazing. I would definitely recommend the only down was the price of parking in whitstable.

I was very impressed with the room, it was spacious, clean and modern. The location was perfect, the pub downstairs had a great vibe, and the breakfast was 5/5. The only small thing I would say is it’s quite noisy outside, which you would expect from that location as it’s so central. Thank you for a great stay, I’ll definitely visit again.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Duke of Cumberland! We’ve been coming to Whitstable for years and are pleased to see that this great pub has finally been given some TLC. Whitstable was definitely in need of a nice boutique hotel in the centre of town!

We absolutely adored our stay. We had a double room and it's spacious and stunning. Everything is incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is right in the center of high street. Nothing but amazing things to say!

We had a beautiful stay. The air heater was a good addition, as a draft came through the windows. Also, the windows would knock from the wind, waking us up throughout the night.

I thought it was quite expensive for what it was. The room was nicely decorated but small. Quite hard to understand that it was advertised as a family room, as if there were 4 people in it you would not be able to turn around. It was really a small twin room but charged at considerably more than a double. A bit noisy and only limited bedding - a sheet and a single blanket meant we found ourselves bit cold at night. No extra blankets in the cupboard.

If you’re looking for a charming pub to stay in and you have had a load of drinks to knock you out, it’s a good option. Walls are paper thin, you can hear everything in the room next door. Can hear traffic loudly from the road as it’s on the main road, but the decor is very nice, they have tried hard but the bones of the pub accommodation just doesn’t support a good night sleep. Bed was meant to be a double but just pushed together so ended in the crack. Asked if we could have breakfast slightly before 8am as had to leave 8am and no, most places open for breakfast at 7am particularly during a week day. Proximity to the beach is great. Would suit young couples who want to go on the smash.

Our room here was absolutely beautiful! The staff were very friendly and breakfast was tasty. Only thing was we visited on opening weekend, so everything was a bit disorganised upon check in and at breakfast. I’m sure that’ll be sorted quickly with everyone getting up to speed in a couple of weeks though!

We absolutely adored our stay. We had a double room and it's spacious and stunning. Everything is incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is right in the center of high street. Nothing but amazing things to say!

We loved our weekend , the hotel was in a great location . Facilities staff and food were wonderful . The only downside was the constant traffic noise at night until early hours of the morning . This is probably the busy bank holiday weekend .

Superb hotel, room was excellent quality newly decorated, great shower, even a couple beers included. Staff very friendly, breakfast I had English day 1, eggs Florentine day 2 and a salmon cream cheese and chives bap day 3, all included in the rate. There are very few hotel options in Whitstable and this must be the best. Right by beach, short walk to harbour, middle of the shopping street full of small boutiques. Highly recommended. Be aware there are steep steps to the bedrooms!

Great stay at the Duke of Cumberland . Great location in central Whitstable but this did mean we heard road noise in the early mornings. if we were to stay again we would ask for a quieter room. However, the room itself Emmeline, couldn’t have been nicer, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. A small fridge in the room would have made it perfect. Staff was really friendly. Breakfast excellent with plenty of choice. No parking at the hotel itself but plenty of car parks nearby - hotel gives you details of these. If you’re prepared to walk a bit further you can park cheaply at the co op at the bottom of the high street using the parking app.

I was very impressed with the room, it was spacious, clean and modern. The location was perfect, the pub downstairs had a great vibe, and the breakfast was 5/5. The only small thing I would say is it’s quite noisy outside, which you would expect from that location as it’s so central. Thank you for a great stay, I’ll definitely visit again.

Our room here was absolutely beautiful! The staff were very friendly and breakfast was tasty. Only thing was we visited on opening weekend, so everything was a bit disorganised upon check in and at breakfast. I’m sure that’ll be sorted quickly with everyone getting up to speed in a couple of weeks though!

Really charming place to stay! Perfect for a weekend. Staff were brilliant and attentive and breakfast was great! Just to note we did get woken up a bit early by a drinks delivery for the pub underneath but wasn’t too bad

I was slightly wary of a pub with rooms but can say I’d do it again if as fabulous as this was. The staff & I mean everyone on the team couldn’t have been nicer!! Friendly, helpful, accommodating & made time to chat. Excellent & congratulations as it’s a rarity.

"Absolutely brilliant in every way! The staff, the rooms, and the location were all faultless—worth every penny. We will definitely be staying again! Breakfast out on the terrace was such a lovely bonus. Well done to everyone there, you’re all doing a fantastic job.

Surprisingly good standard rooms above busy pub. Staff pleasant and helpful. Quiet overnight and 5 minutes walk to beach. Be aware parking is not included and parking charges in Whitstable are high
