ARK Canary Wharf

It was amazing and stress-free! The apartment is compact and tidy! The apartment does get really hot! The spa is top-notch and very relaxing!

I had a couple of issues with my key card but they were sorted quickly. All staff were friendly and helpful. While I thought initially the DLR noise would bother me, the service finished as I was going to sleep and wasnt running at that weekend so i actually slept really well. Pool, steam room and sauna all really lovely

Great weekend. Stayed there for three nights and I loved it. Great staffs, clean room even though the bathroom was a bit small. Loved the amenities(jacuzzi, pool, sauna, gym , steam room) although towards the ending of my stay, the jacuzzi wasn’t hot anymore. Affordable too so would recommend. If you don’t mind a little bit of noise, then it’s the best room for you due to the fact that the building and room is close to the train station. Would recommend

The building is lovely we was disappointed as when we booked we see the facilities it had and booked non refundable and after we had booked and paid we was then advised that the pool etc was out of use

The hotel overall is great, the bar on the 20th floor has amazing views and I was pleasantly surprised by the gym as well which had lots of equipment. The room itself was okay however it was definitely on the small side. The bathroom was almost unusable with my toes touching the shower while on the loo and if you are anything over 6ft and slightly bigger built there is no way you will fit in the shower. Overall it was a good hotel but the size of the bathroom was a big markdown.

The pool facilities were terrible. The hot tub wasn't hot which defeats the purpose really.

Before checking in, I tried repeatedly to contact ARK about parking — by phone, email, Hotels.com messages, and their own app chat — but received no reply. Calls went to voicemail, emails bounced, and the listed contact details didn’t work. So, expectations were already low before arrival. Check-in was friendly and straightforward, but the shower door in my room was hanging off its hinges. I asked to move rooms, which turned into a bit of a faff with keys and confusion. The second room was dusty, missing amenities, and the TV remote had no batteries. Despite being told to use the app for issues, no one responded. Reception promised to send help, but no one came. The “equipped kitchen” was laughable — a kettle, two glasses, and one teaspoon. No plates, cutlery, or cookware. When I requested utensils for a food delivery, they arrived two hours later. The room was noisy, right next to the lift, with constant “dings”, and the bathroom was tiny. For the price, the overall experience was poor. Even the pool was inaccessible as my key card didn’t work. As someone who stays in London weekly for work, I can safely say there are far better options elsewhere. Would not stay again.

Good views, pool and spa amenities. Standard rooms are small don't be surprised but be wary which room you get, it can get hot and loud with local transport. Overall good place to stay

Overall the hotel was pretty nice but can get really busy. A few other points: - Patchy wifi signal makes the tv difficult to use - Majority of amenities out of use including simulated golf, sauna and steam room. - Note that you have to ask for kitchen equipment to be apart of the rook after checking in - Staff knocked and walked in whilst I was in the room - Good location

Unfortunately our room was not up to standard. The mattress is worn on one side causing a rolling out of bed feeling and resulting in my wife having a bad back and disturbed sleep. There were a significant amount of hairs around the room. Remote control, kettle, soap dispenser were dirty and covered in marks/fingers prints. The bathroom looked like it had been quickly wiped over, toilet seat had hairs and dirt. The fan in the room was full of dust as was the hair dryer. There is a window that opens but it is very noisy outside. Wasn't what we expected from pictures, the view from our room was the roof of the building next door. Reported issues to reception on check out, nothing was said, not even an apology seemed uninterested but I hope these things are taken on board. Pool was nice but a little chilly, the lounge area in the pool is 2 bean bag loungers that have seen much better days. In all wish I'd spent our money elsewhere.

Old food from previous guest left in kitchen . Not cleaned room grubby . Have tried to contact but no response to 5 emails. Avoid. Very noisy from trains going by window

The room was dirty on arrival , it had someone half drunk coffee on the side which was still hot and the kettle was still hot meaning they had only just left the room . There was makeup wipes across the kitchen side and used tissues and in the toilet it was the same . The TV remote did not work asked for a replacement which also did not work , didn't bother complaining about the room as didn't hold much faith as couldn't get a remote right so tidied myself

Room was spotless and staff was amazing.

The staff where on there phone when i was trying to check in ,the room was far to hot the widow did not open there was a fan i put it on only to have dust go all over me and the room,there where long hairs in the shower on the toilet all over the floor in the living area and also in the fridge.The floor had not been swept and my socks where covered in dust and hairs so not a great start to my stay at the Ark hotel. Not happy atall about my stay just gad it was 1 night . So looking for a fefund im not sure if you can help .

I have stayed here previously for business trips, however this most recent trip was far from good! Check in was easy - I got to my room. In my wardrobe were people’s dirty clothes leftover - clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The shower was dirty and the shower door was hanging off. There was an awful smell coming from the kitchen area in the studio. Overall this was a really unpleasant stay and the standards were definitely not up to expectation.

The room was dirty and did not look like the photos. I had high hopes having stayed at the wembley ark hotel before but this trip fell short. The pool and gym are nice but it does not make up for the room. Our room was afompamied by the constant smell of weed due to a flat near us and due to not having a working window our room was so hot causing us to struggle to sleep.

Experience from start to finish was not great, parking is very limited, hard to find and quite confusing. The room was like a super heated sauna, no air conditioning. We had to ask for an extra fan to get through the night. Can hear the trains even high up, didnt bother us though too much The bed was comfy however the bathroom smelt and didn’t feel very clean, especially the pink mould on the shower head. And the missing drain. The coffee/brunch place on the bottom floor looked really nice, and the surrounding area is lovely. Just a shame about the hotel!!!

Small tidy room. Hairs all over bed, sheets and in the bed and pillows in apartment, window sill covered in dust. Dirty floor, dusty shelves and kitchen shelves. Bathroom door not on roller so wouldnt open properly.

Nice enough place, but a few things to note - the room is tiny. Yes, it’s London, but it’s very, very small (bathroom is particularly small) - shower isn’t great (very small; not much pressure) - bed is like sleeping in a hammock (it sags in the middle) - no air con - if you open the window, the DLR trains are very noisy Good points: - free (fast) wifi - the TV works - fridge / kitchenette in room (altho there’s no cutlery / plates to use) - check in was quick - it’s secure

No air conditiong made it impossible to sleep. Bed uncomfortable due to 2 slats that were loose. My shower door didnt close fully as it was off its hinges. I expected much better for the price i paid for one night in this hotel! Very disappointed

The rooms are very small and extremely hot. You can open the window but then the train noise is even louder. Appreciate trains noise is out of the hotels control, but it should be compensated by making the rooms a comfortable temperature.

Lovely place, great facilities, small bathrooms. Its cozy in a fanastic are however it is quite loud due to the trains running near by. The biggest issue was the window only opened very litte so the room got quite hot but the window was locked without a key despite it being open meaning i couldn't shut out the noise. All in all a great 8/10.

Reception is beautiful and the area is very nice and easy to reach. For us, the positives end there unfortunately. The room was tiny and very rough around the edges including holes in the kickboard and very scabby looking paintwork and heater. The worst part…the heat!!! It hits you as you get off the lift like when they open the aeroplane doors on holiday. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS and the tiny fan provided rattled all night, reaching some kind of turbo speed before cutting out and starting again. The window opened only a few inches (just enough to hear the DLR train screech past every 8 minutes). Pleased we just stayed one night. You get what you pay for I guess.

The pictures made it look really big but the rooms are tiny. The bed is not very big, it is ok but not really big. The bathroom is just very small. The noise of the train is like it is coming in your room. And there is no airco. The pool and sauna are great! It is very clean and you dont have to pay a lot for parking. The kitchenette is nice but there is nothing to cook with, drink from or eat from or with.

Photos of the rooms are very cleverly taken, actual rooms are much smaller than the photos suggest. We visited during June and couldn’t sleep either nights of our stay due to how hot it was. A fan is provided but no AC means it’s just uncomfortable in there. The bathroom is tiny, lucky I’m on 5’4, or you’re 6 foot plus there’s no chance you’ll fit in the shower. You get charged £100 on entry which will be refunded to you a week after your stay, this is only mentioned AFTER you’ve booked in. Be aware.

A really lovely hotel but the rooms are poor - as everyone else has stated no AC is a big problem - we had to ask for a fan which was very inadequate. Rooms were tired and in need of refreshing - VERY SMALL - everything is extremely compact - ideal for solo travellers not couples - the bed should be advertised as a large single NOT a double - it is NOT a double - extremely uncomfortable for 2 adults. Concerns that all electrical PAT test dates are expired. Hotel itself is wonderful in the shared areas, pool and view is lovely. Wouldn’t stay again.

Room was spotless and staff was amazing.

The communication prior to arrival was terrible. Both my partner and I made numerous attempts to book the £12 parking option. Our calls did not get through and we were instead greeted by the O2 messaging service which we left messages on that were then not responded to. I also sent messages via the Hotels.com portal but never received a reply. This meant that we had to make alternative parking arrangements which meant a later arrival time so that we could not use the spa (one of the reasons for booking Ark). As for the room, it was a disaster. With no air conditioning at all we had to have the window open but this meant extreme disturbance from the nearby DLR for much of the time. The bedroom and bathroom were tiny and the only way for me to get out of the bed in the night was to climb over my partner. This is not at all what I expect from a hotel stay. The shower area was extremely cramped and there was no shower gel/soap. I also think the £100 charge to a credit card is unacceptable. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and have never had to do this. Because of the impossibility to speak to someone from the hotel prior to arrival I was not willing to leave the hotel the next morning until I received confirmation that the room had been inspected and the £100 charge would not be taken - more valuable time wasted.

This was a very disappointing experience. You have to reserve a car parking space here. I messaged via the hotels.com app and got no response, so called on the morning of my arrival and spoke to the reservations team, who were helpful and confirmed that they had reserved me a spot. When I arrived at the hotel I was confronted by a very salty receptionist, who told me I didn't have parking and that they were full, she was unhelpful, rude and confrontational. In the end I had to put my foot down and say that I'd reserved with someone at the hotel, could she do something about it. She begrudgingly disappeared for a minute and came back with parking permits, presumably after speaking with a manager. I parked my car, it was not full at any point i went down there. After that, every time I returned to the building, she was rude and acted like a spoilt brat, the lack of professionalism was quite astounding. The guy on the desk however, really helpful, friendly and approachable. As for the room, there's no aircon and the windows don't open much. It was 33C in London on the day my stay, it was unbearable, although there was a fan so that was helpful. There's a kitchenette in the studio but no cutlery crockery or cookware. The rooms are fine other than that Overall, The rooms are ok, lobby is nice, good amenities, just maybe not one for hot weather. The big disappointment for me was on the girl on the desk.

OK hotel pool was really nice though quiet clean. Staff seem under pressure n pissed off. Could not get in to my room entrance card failed was told someone would let me in no body came, it was the same situation for others as well. Its ok for 1 night only. But id rather go somewhere else to be honest

I checked and was assisted by a wonderful gentleman from Zimbabwe. He went over and above to assist me with luggage.ensured I was comfortable. The young Indian man were equally friendly and helpful. So was Latifa. Please can we celebrate this amazing team. If I return to canary wharf i will rebook. Thankyou

The lady in the front desk that worked the morning of the 6th of July needs to work on her customer service. As soon as we walked in the front door she looked at us like we personally dragged her out of bed to be at work that morning. We didn't get her name but she was very rude. The room was ok. Would like for it to have aircon or atleast a fan but it didn't have either. Bed was uncomfortable made a noise everytime someone moved. And was definitely not meant to sleep two people. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable too. The rest of the room was good. Checking out was good. They were very nice to hold our luggages while we explore London.

Unsafe, unclear, and unresponsive – avoid this hotel My partner and I stayed at ARK Canary Wharf and it was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve had. First, the listing did not clearly state that there was no air conditioning, which made the room unbearably hot during a heatwave. We felt misled, but stayed anyway because of their strict no refund policy. Then, on our second night around 11:30pm, while we were asleep, a strange man tried to enter our room. Turns out the hotel had double-booked it, even though we had reserved it for four nights. We saw what looked like a manager calling reception to get access. When we opened the door to ask what was going on, they just apologized and quickly left — no explanation, no follow-up. We were left wondering: if we’d gone out that night, would that man have been let into our room with all our belongings inside? The next day, our room key stopped working. That was the last straw — we checked out a day early. To make matters worse, we had put down a £100 holding deposit at check-in, which was fine — but nearly a week later, I had to call and argue with them just to get it refunded. Completely unprofessional. We also contacted the hotel to request a refund for the night we didn’t stay, and of course, they never responded. Between the lack of transparency, safety concerns, and poor management, this hotel is not worth the risk. I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

Absolutely terrible experience — zero stars if I could. We were told to call ahead to arrange parking, but for two full weeks, every attempt led nowhere. Reception would “helpfully” offer to transfer us to their supposed parking team, but every single time the call just rang out and went straight to voicemail — no one ever picked up. It honestly felt like the parking team doesn’t even exist. After two frustrating weeks of being bounced between reception and voicemail, we finally resorted to emailing. At that point, they booked the parking, but never sent us any confirmation. When we arrived, the instructions were vague and unclear. Parking is under the building, but Google Maps sends you down to the docks instead. I asked reception if we could park temporarily to collect the permit — they said yes. Two weeks later, we get slapped with a £100 parking fine, which was more than the cost of the stay itself. To top it off, the room was dusty, with no air conditioning, making it extremely uncomfortable in summer. If you expect even the most basic level of service or communication, do not stay here.

Good location ,nice modern small room with kitchenette . Clean, comfortable bed. Was ideal for our stay and handy for the 02. Very small bathroom but wasn’t an issue. Would definitely stay again

Used it for the o2 good location but because it was warm we had the window open and the early morning trains are quite loud

The room was exceptionally hot. The noise from the nearby DLR meant we either had to have the window closed, and be really hot, or have the window open, but have excessive noise. The bathroom was tiny.

The property and the surrounding neighborhood are both amazing. The gym and the pool are very nice amenities. The room was about as expected, but as I stayed in July it was very hot in the room due to no temperature control. There was an issue with my bathroom sink and the shower not draining properly, and even after reporting the problem to concierge, the issue was not fixed until nearly 24 hours later. Overall, I would recommend the Ark and would stay there again during more moderate temperatures.

Really close to Canary Wharf for the Elizabeth line so very convenient. Greenwich is a short walk away too. You can get to the best of London from here. Excellent views, you don't expect to see sheep out the window of a city hotel but here you can. There's a gym and pool, only slight issue was the size of the en suite shower but great value overall. Will definitely use again.

Excellent location from the busy London streets if u enjoy quietness after a busy day of tourism.

Brilliant building, lovely pool, sauna and steam , has cinema room and coffee shop, roof top bar … ( the Coca Cola is awful tho haha) , nice little studio room with microwave and elec hob ( no plates , bowls or cutlery) , but excellent hotel and well worth money, parking in secured underground car park £12 per night

We arrived knowing the pool wasn’t available ect we arrived late and was wanting to dine in then relax for the night, we went upstairs to grab some food(pizza) and the guy closed the food area 2hours early and gave us 2minutes to order a drink then he would close the bar too, the bar and food was supposed to be open till 11pm, the reception staff are amazing and kind and the cleaning is great too! I would look into more food/dining options

When i booked with you it's was written that the breakfast is included, then when i arrived they told there's no breakfast

It was great, loved the pool and bar on the top floor. Room wasn’t big but well designed.

Would have liked to have been offered something other than Pizza to eat! Tescos is near by and it is a lovely walk to Canary Wharf so if you are on business, a reasonable place to stay and a lovely walk to the City. Further the sinks are tiny like are you sure that they have passed health and safety requirements? That goes for the shower - don’t be overweight please as they are small. I also would not like to stay here during the Winter time as the bed is up against the windows. The hotel was actually difficult to find and as I was on a business trip, my partner was not there. I would say that the steps into the swimming pool are unsafe to get out. Fantastic views across on the 20th Floor and the swimming pool are a plus. I can see the attraction of this hotel/apartments if you are new to London and the young nightlife. I remover this area 30 years ago before Canary Wharf was built as lived in Beckton as a 20 year old. Was emotional as Beckton is where my husband and I met but really it was a business meeting I was attending. Would I go again - the answer is yes, as the prices are reasonable.

Eaten alive during the night, can only assume mattress had bed bugs. The room was SO hot, no air conditioning. The shower cubicle is VERY tight and the sink very small despite the bathroom being a great size. No tv remote to begin with, after receiving it TV signal did not work. No bin in the room. The cafe food and drink is absolutely fantastic!
