The hotel was very modern and clean. Located right next to Marble Arch which was ideal. Unfortunately the lifts did not work and led to hour long queues to get from the first floor to the basement for breakfast and again to the ground floor to check out. No available stairs were offered either with the only stairs being an alarmed fire exit door. Once we finally got to breakfast, they ran out of sausages which was not ideal. Otherwise it was a decent breakfast spread. The hotel also offered a very good gym with modern equipment and a full weight rack.

Lovely hotel but the lift situation is awful- regularly waited 10 mins for a lift, then waited 20 mins on the day of checkout for a lift as we had cases - 9 lifts came and went and were absolutely rammed. Ended up having to haul several heavy cases down the fire exit stairs as we had a train to catch. Wouldn’t stay again because of this which is a shame as hotel and location are excellent.

there had been a few changes since if became the cumberland hotel instead of the hard rock hotel. The addition of a costa coffee bar was good. I would recommend a high floor as if on a low floor it was hard to get the lift and unfortunately there are no stairs to use instead (there are fire escape stairs though). Enjoyed the groups/singers there every early evening

Good location, but not as good as it used to be. In the gym; 2 out of 3 treadmills were out of work. The fire-door just outside our room was noisy and kept us awake. One day our room was not made, and another day towels were missing. Breakfast was ok but we were missing other bread than toast

The Cumberland is a massive hotel. One where there is always a lot of people coming and going and sitting in the lobby. In the lobby there was a lot of kitschy things that made up the decor, including a "Back to the Future" Delorean. On our first morning, we had paid for breakfast, but chose not to eat there, because of the long wait to enter the dining area. The elevator situation there was unacceptable. There were only 6 elevators and you had to choose your floor by swiping your card at the ground level. You could not choose your floor in the elevator cab. Elevators were over-packed during breakfast and it took too long to get on an elevator that took you to your floor.

The hotel is lovely and in a great location. Clean room, quiet. My only complaint is mommy has a very nasty smell. We heard others complain and the staff said it was from waxing the floors but it smelled the two days we were there. Very gross smell. Otherwise lovely hotel!

Really good location and friendly staff. Hotel amenities are excellent especially with a fridge in the room. Could improve the level of cleanliness in the bathroom. Finger prints/ hand marks on glass door not from my visit and glass door shower screen not clean. Could be improved with new grouting/sealent as mouldy and looks tired.

Great location with nice bar and bar staff. However, very Very disappointing housekeeping service, kept only giving us 1 set of towels depsite being in a double room and water in the soap dispenser. Also found a bug in our room.

Overall, a great experience. For several days there was a bad odor in the lobby, which smelled like a sewage issue or something. It was not noticeable in our 2nd floor room, but it made it impossible to enjoy the lobby area and live music. The hotel didn’t want to acknowledge the problem when I asked them about it.

The room was spacious and is good condition. However the bathroom had a terrible urine odor. It was present throughout the whole stay no matter how many times we cleaned the bathroom. We are not sure if it was seeped into the rugs or coming out of the pipes. Location was great - right at the end of Oxford street and it even has its own subway stop. We walked everywhere and my kids loved the area. We had a suite and lounge access was quite nice.

The check in was super easy, the room was spacious and confortable but the bathroom wasn’t very clean ( hair on the shower floor) and the soap was with some camphor so really not appropriate for shower.

The staff was great and the rooms are fine, and I felt safe. The issue was that the lobby smelled like sewage and my room specifically smelled like urine. Also, extremely long waits for the elevator especially in the morning

Nice hotel, but let down by signposting for lifts on 2nd floor, WiFi wouldn’t work, no 5G in the room, light switches in the room were wired really strangely and seemed very random.

Checking in room was not ready, but checked in so I could just get keys when ready. There was no offer of upgrade, or any perk as Hotels. com gets me. My room was huge last time. This time it was a closet. I booked 2 rooms under my name. The other room my associate got was better sized, but still small. When I came back to get the key, after already paying I was told I didn’t have a reservation. I had to wait for person that checked me in to straighten it out.

Left a day early but ended up paying full stay but felt claustrophobic in the room. View was just an industrial air conditioner unit. Lines for the elevators at times took 15 minutes. Asked about stairs and was told they’re not accessible. Good location though.

Great hotel - friendly check-in (I was lucky and my room was ready very early). Comfortable beds and quiet rooms. All the amenities you need. Love the program where you can skip a housekeeping day for cafe credit. I would definitely stay here again.

Room clean and comfortable and hotel ideal location for BTS in Hyde Park. Check in was tedious, tried three times from 2pm to check in and no rooms available. Managed to get to room at 3.20 after a ten minute wait at check-in where two members of staff took time trying to locate a room. They didn’t explain what was happening just whispered between themselves until they could issue a room. It felt quite rude and unprofessional, a lady at the next check in desk experienced the same problem. Aside from that the hotel is very clean and modern. Room was comfortable.

Check in staff were very attentive and helpful during the check in process. All staff around hotel were friendly and approachable, especially the door men! Hotel is very clean and well presented. Room was lovely, with a nice personal greeting left for us along with some nice freebies which made our stay extra special. Loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

We have stayed before and had a good time, but this time I was woken up on the first night at 1.15 am by an alarm. It took a few minutes to decide it was a fire alarm and I needed to get out. I had a separate room from my friends, so just had to get to the stairs and get out of the building on my own. There were no staff to be seen to explain what was going on, no one on reception. It was a bit scary as when you are woken up suddenly and have to get out, you are very disoriented. Obviously there were loads of people doing the same thing but no one knew what was going on so we waited on the street outside. We were eventually told by 2 security guards that it was safe to go back in. The next morning, I asked at reception what had happened and why had the alarm gone off, and I immediately got shut down. I was told that the Fire Service had decided it was safe to return to the building, and no other information given. I think a notice should have been put up in reception with an apology and an explanation.

Check in was not a good experience- the receptionist was extremely rude and impatient. I couldn’t locate my passport as it was in another bag that my daughter had, she was impatient and kept refusing me check in, even though I explained I was trying to locate the document. Once I located my passport ( seconds later) she then questioned the age of my daughter and her 2 young friends as being “children”. They have all just turned 15, which I had declared on the booking form. I was really upset being questioned, she made me feel like I wasn’t being truthful. I wish I had asked her name, but I was so flustered I just wanted to get away from her. The start of a much anticipated birthday trip was upsetting and soured. It really put me on edge staying in the hotel. The three girls were worried and upset too.

The outstanding part of the stay was the helpfulness of the executive check-in, Dorian's welcome and continued help during our stay, and the help of the concierge desk. We also enjoyed the great breakfast selection - especially the omlet makers.

the stay was overall amazing! but check in was very late, we came from far for an event for 5 o’clock, to which we arrived at the hotel at 2:30 hoping for early check in, we was told the room wasn’t ready, which is fair enough because check in is 3. so after waiting over an hour and a half and multiple visits to the front desk, we finally got checked in at 4:30 which wasn’t great as we needed to be ready and gone for 5. as i have said everything else was perfect and enjoyable.

The lobby has a "unusual and slightly offensive" smell. Everyone on our tour commented on this. One night we sat at the bar and despite the fact there were 5 bartenders standing around, not one acknowledged us for over 10 minutes so we got up and left for a local pub.

We stayed at the Cumberland Hotel for a celebratory weekend away following our wedding and the hotel exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Our check in experience by Ali Mansour was one of the best we have had to date, he was extremely welcoming, professional and accommodating to our needs and gave a great first impression of the hotel. From then on the service from staff in both the main restaurant and breakfast room did not disappoint. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms were immaculate and the live music entertainment in the evening topped it off! The location is central so ideal for those looking to explore london. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will certainly be back again. Thank you very much Cumberland hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hotel was modern with a very central location. Super close to Hype Park, Marble Arch, shopping, and nice local restaurants in Marleybone. Lots of the amenities in the for of music, nice bar, coffee bar, convenience/snack store. Lobby must have been remodeled recently as were the rooms. My rooms nice, decent size, and, overlooked the Marble Arch. I was there my wife but the hotel would also work for families. Lastly, the subway stop was right in front of the hotel. Would recommend.

Property is in a fantastic location. We were able to walk/take public transportation easily from the hotel. We loved the hotel! Our room was larger than expected with a great view. There is a LOT of energy in the lobby/bar/restaurant and it is bustling! Very fun place.

The hotel is very centrally located, with the Underground station right next door and numerous bus lines nearby. The lobby looks quite fancy and modern, but once you get up to the rooms, the hotel starts to show signs of wear and tear. The biggest issue, however, is the elevator system — which is honestly a complete mess. You're required to tap your room card on a touchscreen, which then assigns you one of six elevators. While this may sound efficient in theory, in practice it’s incredibly frustrating. Wait times are long, the elevators are overcrowded, and during peak times — especially in the morning — you can end up waiting 15–20 minutes just to get on. Even then, the elevator is often packed and stops on nearly every floor, regardless of whether there's space or not. It’s a system that clearly doesn't work well, particularly during busy hours. Many guests seemed visibly annoyed, and it wouldn’t be surprising if some of the elevators weren’t even operational. Overall, great location, but serious issues with the infrastructure — especially the lifts — really detract from the experience.

Breakfast room is far too noisy and the quality of food is quite poor. The coffee is terrible so happy that I could get a better coffee in the Backstage area. Getting drinks and snack backstage was very nice and needed. Room was good and comfortable and big for London rooms in general. Some things in the room can be a bit cleaner but I guess that is because cleaning staff don’t use and see the same things as the guest. Such as inside of the bathroom door while sitting on the toilet.

The hotel and staff are amazing of that there is as no doubt. I only gave a 4 star as it was let down by breakfast. Overcrowded, overrated and over-priced. Inferior products issued at tepid temperature's. Get the Omlet, if you don’t mind the wait.

Great location and right above the Marble Arch station. Family room was effectively the same as a double queen room in the states. Cool vibes as it was a previous Hard Rock Hotel. Hotel breakfast was crowded and not worth the cost if it's not included in your room package. Staff was kind. Shower ran very hot at times...this was consistent for all 4 nights we were there.

Overall the hotel is nice, room was comfortable and spacious. Whole hotel is clean with fairly attentive staff. Issues with the lift system, just not up to scratch and gets overly busy. The breakfast is carnage, food was fine but it’s really poorly organised.

Booked a double room for my wife and I. ONE towel, ONE chair. Tiny, minute room. Tiny double bed. Appalling room service. Ordered Nachos with cheese and with extra cheese, got NO cheese. All food arrived after 1 hour COLD. Almost £50 for the worst room service we have ever experienced. That was for a chicken burger and some Nachos! The room was so small. Will never book this hotel again. Appalled.

Check in was smooth and easy. Staff are friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. I stayed for one night and decided to eat in the restaurant. The meal was disappointing, I ordered the steak and I struggled to cut it even with a steak knife so could only eat 1/3 of my meal. I think I may have been unlucky with my meal. Staff were polite, professional and friendly when dealing with my complaint. The staff have made the stay pleasant and relaxing. Overall I have had a good experience and would stay at the hotel again.

Standards are dropping at this hotel. Since i changed from the Hard Rock, the staff just done seem bothered. As for hotels.com perks, there weren't any! Swerve the hotels overpriced breakfast, too many people queuing for a below average offer.
