Holiday Inn Express London Stansted Airport by IHG

Very convenient for the airport with 24 hour shuttle. Clean with a small but well catered resteraunt. One minus point was I was unable to post a package from the front desk and was directed to go bavk the airport as the nearest podt box.

Nice clean, spacious rooms, staff excellent, able to accommodate our two rooms next to each other without being asked (they did check first that's what we'd like!). We were leaving too early for a hot breakfast but the grab and go/express breakfast was good, fresh, and a wide selection. Safe car parking (£14) at front of hotel good.

We enjoyed our two night stay and with the exception of one small item everything met our expectations. The one item that caught us off guard was the charge for the airport shuttle. This is the first time I have seen a separate charge for this service for a relatively short trip to and from the airport. That aside we look forward to our next visit.

Quick, efficient check in. Good wifi and excellent breakfast. Shuttle bus to the airport every half an hour for £4.

Dtaff were very helpful and friendly. Late check out was offered if i signed up into the group which was free. The only drawback os the the bar closing at 11 when we landed quite a lot later than that. Otherwise 5/5

Hotel was about 8 mins from airport £4 each way for adults children are free but not sure of age card only Hotel was lovely room nice & clean air con good. Breakfast was lovely and had a takeout for early flights. Would definitely stay here again

Clean room and very helpful staff

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was varied and included hot dishes. The property itself was basic and clean but the floor had quite a musty smell. Overall good value and good experience for an airport hotel.

Very disappointed with the cleanliness. The room was dated and smelled of mold. The bathroom floor had visible signs of water damage. Construction crew started drilling in the walls at 9:00am.

I was there last weekend and I can say the staffs are nice and approachable and the room are very nice and clean

Fairly close to the airport, friendlly staff but my actual room was filthy. Horrible stench coming from bathroom drains. Dusty surfaces and dirty sofa. I wouldn't stay here again.

At first glance this hotel seemed ok but I found serious problems. The first was lack of cleanliness. The twin beds were on rollers and very easily moved. Well, as the beds moved the floor underneath was found to be extremely dirty. One bed had someone else’s spilled medicine/pills and bottle top. Both beds had shredded bedding underneath and what looked like small animal poop. The hotel needs to ensure the maids clean under the beds every day and they may need to bring in a professional exterminator. Or not allow pets. I was really looking forward to a hot breakfast but was super disappointed that the scrambled eggs were apparently made from powder and very grainy so inedible. Worse, after eating only about 1/3 of my breakfast I got up to get some butter and when I turned back a few seconds later the staff were already clearing away my breakfast. I should note that the breakfast room wasn’t particularly busy so they didn’t need to make space so quickly. I didn’t have time to wait to make more toast so I just grabbed a bit of fruit and wound up with a pretty small breakfast. This is all easy to solve. Avoid serving really bad powdered eggs. Don’t rush too fast to clear away dishes especially with lots of food still on them. Wait at least a minute. Better yet— do what the Japanese do and hand out laminated cards with ‘still eating’ on one side and ‘finished—please clear’ on the other. Usually holiday inn hotels are at least clean. Spilled pills and poop— not good.

Sofa and carpets very dirty, bed moved when you sat on it . Didn’t feel clean

Staff were lovely but checked in for 4 people. The sofa bed was the most uncomfortable you could possibly imagine. None of the sockets were working and we called reception and they told us they already know about it. They switched us rooms and this room smelt badly of smoke, the carpet's are filthy and stained and the bed had big stains on the sheets.

Booked for a double but was given a twin room, this was swiftly resolved without any fuss. Phone signal was non existent in my room and not much better in the rest of the hotel.

Handy for airport, good sized clean room and a comfy bed

The air conditioning did not work in either of our two rooms. That made the entire night terrible. We chose this hotel for that reason. So not good there. The staff were very nice. The breakfast was great too and nice to have. Lastly, the shuttle to the airport made things very convenient.

Booked two rooms , took a while at reception to find the second room I booked. Rooms were dated and looking tired. Bathroom not clean, make up on back of door. Paint coming off walls . Carpets with stains . Shuttle bus is 4.00 each way. Breakfast supplies went down quick as everyone grabs items to take way before shuttle bus leaves at 4am. Prefer the Hilton next to airport.

Adequate airport stay but small double bed and poor room facilities far inferior to Premier Inn.

Good hotel, close to the airport with a convenient but expensive shuttle service. The room was okay, but the bed was keep rolling around the room (it had wheels).

Easy check in, comfortable room and very little airport noise.

There was zero sound-proofing in my room from the outside, thanks to the permanently open vents above the window, and the conversations of the late night smokers standing outside the main entrance carried into the room without interruption. I could hear every word. Then, of course, the noise of the early flight brigade shouting in the corridors began at about 5am (seriously, how can these people be so inconsiderate?). But the design of these rooms were so inadequate to cope with either. I got just a few hours sleep before my flight.

Excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff.

Didn't like the treatment when we had dinner. Didn't like the tone of one member of the staff and having to order from the bar every single dish or drink and rushed to pay immediately like we we're some sort of criminals trying to steal a meal. Definitely very disappointed. Never happened to us before in any other hotel.

We had a little issue at check in with the room type, but the lady at the check in counter was kind and accommodating. And after a long flight that was very nice. Its a convenient location to stansted airport, with a shuttle that runs 24/7 for those ridiculously early flights. Would definitely recommend.

Our room was a decent size with a very comfortable bed. All the staff were helpful, efficient and happy. We had a very enjoyable stay.

The room was well equipped, clean & comfortable. The early start for breakfast was excellent as we had an early flight. Meghan the front desk receptionist was excellent & sorted out a problem I had with a double booking. I would recommend this establishment to my family & friends without hesitation.

Check in was annoyingly long restaurant team were so lovely Reception team not customer focused and watched me wait at the bar to order a coffee for 10 minutes before a porter informed me you cant order a drink until 2pm. I was speaking at a front of house and customer service event being held there. They didn't bother to sign post where delegates were to go and at the break, everyone was waiting for the refreshments to be told go and help yourself in the restaurant. This would have been fine, but they hadn't bothered to tell us. Front of house need training. The fire alarm went off for about 10 seconds at 4am - i imagine this disturbed all the guests in the hotel. There was no mention, or apology on check out.

We requested a 3.30 am wake-up call which never came. That led us to miss our flight from Stansted.

Very easy and quick check in. Front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Makes me want to come back again.

Exactly what you need for an airport hotel. Shuttle bus is convenient and costs £4 per person, service is good, rooms are spacious and comfortable and breakfast is of a good standard.

Close to the airport

The hotel was very close to the airport, literally 10 mins max, but beware the shuttle bus takes £4 per way. The staff were really great, friendly and helpful, check in was smooth and the room was clean, tidy and relatively spacious. It has an iron in it, a TV, a couch, a desk and a double bed. The bathroom was good too, clean and well equipped. The morning buffet was ok, not so many options but would do. They really need to take care of the scent of the cutlery though, they’re perfectly clean but they smell awful.

We booked night before and night after flight at the hotel, good shuttle service to/from the airport. Rooms functionable, I liked having a soft and hard pillow choice, the reception and breakfast staff were really nice, polite and professional. We will stay again when we next fly from Stansted

False advertising and a disappointing stay. The hotel claims to be near the airport, but it's a dangerous walk along a busy road with no sidewalk. When I called for help, they suggested a cab, which cost an absurd £36 for a 4-minute ride! The hotel itself was not very clean, and they charge an additional £4 for a shuttle that should be included. It's definitely not worth it—save yourself the hassle and stay at the actual airport hotel.

Close to Stansted airport. Bear in mind £4 per trip to and from airport. Breakfast included. So very good for value. In general it’s a but dated. McDonald’s and M&S food hall just a min walk away. For a brief stay to catch an early flight. Very good choice.

Standard airport hotel, located a mile or so from the airport. Shuttle bus to/from the airport cost extra. Ok room and facilities. Great service, quick check in. Restaurant is average, as to be expected in this type hotel.

Scrambled eggs were dry

The only disappointment was the restaurant, there isn’t a proper restaurant for an evening meal only pizzas.

It was clean, had a great breakfast with vegetarian options, and a nice dinner menu.

Hi, I recently stayed at your hotel and overall had a very pleasant experience – the room was great, and the service was friendly and efficient. However, I was a bit surprised to find that the breakfast before 6 AM was very limited. It might be helpful for future guests if it was clearly stated at check-in and on Hotels.com that the early breakfast (from 4 to 6 AM) is only a light version, and the full breakfast starts at 6. That way, guests can plan accordingly. Thank you for a nice stay!

The breakfast was delicious, the croissant were out of this world.
