Great property for a quick in-and-out to Amsterdam. The hotel lobby is awesome with a great rock&roll design and great for meeting fellow guests at the small bar. The reception is very welcoming and helpful. Great location, very walkable along the canals. I had the shared bathroom/shower room (1 night only stay), which were very very basic. The windows are paper thin and Amsterdam on the weekends is VERY lively, so I got no sleep. Oh well. The steep stairs are also a death trap, so be careful and pack light if staying for a long time. Overall though, for what it is and the price point, it has a very charming bed and breakfast vibe that I enjoyed. The breakfast is also delightful and great quality, I left satisfied and ready to travel. Thank you!

No lift! If you have any mobility issues please note that the stairs are winding. Other than that, the room we were in was similar to the size of a cruise ship twin room (2 beds). The customer service was good and the staff were helpful and would even look up bus times, etc. The location was close enough to walk to most attractions or to catch a bus or train. Restaurants were also steps away. On-site bar, game room and overall coolness effect of the place are worth noting.

Cute hotel with great character in a wonderful location - close to restaurants & the canal cruises. The staff were friendly & helpful. Walking distance to many different squares/areas. A few things to be mindful of: no elevator & there are 4 floors. Tiny winding staircase makes it difficult to carry your luggage up. The staff will offer to do it & I would recommend you let them. No air conditioning. Normally not an issue, but we were there in a "heat dome" so it was 30 degrees every day. We were on the 4th floor & it was very hot in our room. They did supply a floor fan which my husband put on the top ledge outside of the room's window to suck the air in. It finally cooled down at around 2 a.m. The safe in our room didn't work. The light in the bathroom was "motion" activated so wouldn't stay on when you were on the toilet or in the shower. We lived with these inconveniences because we liked the location & price & room size. If you are older you should consider staying somewhere with air conditioning & easier stairs (maybe an elevator). Apparently not many hotels in Amsterdam have air conditioning because it never gets that hot. Overall it was a good hotel & they do offer breakfast at a decent price.

The location is great and the club-theme is fun. There is a cosy pub/reception area with a pool table, record player and a selection of vinyl. It's a traditional building in Amsterdam, so the stairs are steep! Our room was on the 3rd floor, which provided some opportunity to exercise. Worth bearing in mind if you have a lot of luggage or small children. The room continued the club theme and was clean and well serviced each day. Breakfast is available, but we didn't try it.

What a cool hotel! The decor was super fun. The staff is amazing. This is a walk up so be sure you can traverse stairs well (staff assisted with bags). Great breakfast every morning. A wonderful experience. I would definitely visit again!

The rooms were very clean, someone came and changed the towels everyday too so we never had to ask. There was a tea and coffee machine that was always available too which was an additional bonus. Staff were very friendly and super helpful, we had a full itinerary for our trip but the staff did say if we ever needed any recommendations or advice to just ask, which was nice. It was a great location for staying in Amsterdam, it was close to tram and bus stops if you needed that but also walking distance if you just wanted to stroll down further central. Some additional advice/warning: when the nice person on reception asks if you want help with getting your bags to the room you should absolutely say yes, we said we’d be fine, fully underestimating how steep and how many stairs there were, and then made it to the 2nd floor and room keeping saw our struggle and kindly helped us the rest of the way!

I didn’t realize until they “reminded” me two days prior to check-in that I had booked a room with shared bathroom. Tiny sink and mirror in my room. Toilet was a few doors away on my floor. Shower was on the floor below me. Stairs are extremely steep and narrow (no elevator) so challenging to navigate even with just a wheeled carryon bag. Loved the music theme decor! On site bar prices were reasonable. Easy walk to bars/restaurants and Rijksmuseum

Host and staff made us feel more then welcome. Our stay was perfect. The hotel was great. The room was wonderful. Parking is great and the hotel offers a discount at a nearby parking garage. Highly recommend and would stay again at this hotel.

The room was clean and met our expectations. We did not spend a lot of time in the room as we were exploring daily. 10-15 minute walk to the main areas. Stairs could be a challenge for some. We are 55 and 60 years old and made it up to 4th level with our bags. Staff was very friendly and happy to provide assistance.

We were on the fourth floor. We had to tote nine bags up 5 inch wide stairs that narrowed never told about that, no lift-elevator, no ac, unaware that three roads under construction couldn’t get to our hotel, had to drag bags in from long distance, no parking. Couldn’t have been worse of a stay. Bathroom had a state of mold and constant mildew smell. You need to maintain your property.

The staff at the reception was friendly, the location is fantastic and the family room (with 5 beds) is rather cosy with large windows, but no so well equipped (basically just beds and a very small bathroom). The doors are very thin and you hear very much the people who are passing by in the staircase, especially in the middle of the night... We had no problem with that and we thought it was all part of the Amsterdam atmosphere. Unfortunately in the morning after the first night we found (and killed) 2 BED BUGS (including a very large one ) on 2 different beds, (they were definately bed bugs, they were even full of blood). As a result we packed our things and left only after one night (despite we had paid for 2 nights- the receptionist apologised for the inconvenience and he seemed genuinely sorry and surprised, However considering the size of the bed bug it must have been in the room for a while and must have fed in quite a few customers before us. So I hope the hotel management will take care of the problem and sanitize room 202 (family room with 5 beds on the second floor) before they rent it again !

Nice hotel, clean, comfy beds. It was more like a hostel. We had 3 beds and was a tiny room with barely space for luggage. It was cute inside and appreciated the blackout curtains for sleep at night. The safe didn’t work unfortunately. Bathrooms and shower were outside the room like a hostel and had to wait nearly an hour for the shower with continuously checking each floor for availability. No shelf or space to set anything in the shower. Toilets space in the bathrooms was tiny and also occupied much of the time on every floor. It was loud at night from others staying in the hotel and could hear outside noise thru the thin windows. No elevator and very very tiny narrow stairs to each floor. Staff was friendly and free luggage storage. Happy it was clean but wouldn’t stay in the hostel again.

Property was located in a lively neighborhood. Make sure you bring earplugs with you. There is no ac and with the outside noise it can be tough to sleep. Nice small room that had what it needed a bed and a sink, showers and toilet is down the hall.

This is a really cool hotel located in the center of the city in the historic area. Easy ride to and from Amsterdam Central train station and conveniently located. Walkable to every place you can imagine in the historic district of Amsterdam. The room was clean and on the larger side, however it had a weird shape, this made it challenging to get around. We were in the 3rd floor ( equivalent to 4th floor in the US) and the stairs were a killer. Very steep and dangerous looking if you have mobility issues this is not the place for you. Also pack light if you plan to stay with them. There is no AC in the building, Amsterdam weather was mild during our visit, but one day got to mid 70 and the room was hot, you could not open the window all the way so this made air trapped in the room and this contributed to the problem. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definetely stay here again.

Personale molto gentile e disponibile, mi hanno dato la possibilità di fare il checkin appena arrivato, offrendomi anche una bevanda a mia scelta. Hall bellissima, con biliardo e cataste di dischi in vinile...Purtroppo la stanza non era adeguata se uno ci va per lavoro. Era troppo piccola e non aveva nulla in camera, nemmeno un piccolo armadio dove lasciare i vestiti. Bagno e doccia condivisi, anche se puliti. Posizione carina, su uno dei bei canali di Amsterdam e vicino ad uno sono di tram e bus. Colazione non entusiasmante anche se fatta con prodotti caldi, ma che non puoi scegliere. Però non male come gusto.

Posizione carina, su uno dei bei canali di Amsterdam e vicino ad uno sono di tram e bus. Colazione non entusiasmante anche se fatta con prodotti caldi, ma che non puoi scegliere. The hotel was nice and the staff were amazingly friendly. The theme is also very cool. Only thing is the room was very small and warm. The location was good for someone who likes to walk a bit. The trams pass close by. All in all a good experience in tight quarters.

Don't be taken aback by the entrance which is a dark and narrow entrance to a pub. The rooms are clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. When you make the reservation please be aware that they do have rooms that are sharing bathrooms. It was a big surprise to us but we survive because the bathrooms are very clean.

Really enjoyed my stay here. It’s definitely more bare-bones, but super cute and they fully commit to the backstage theme, which I liked. I was barely in the room anyway, so it worked great for me. Just a heads up: the bathroom and shower are shared, but you do have a private sink in the room, plus towels, which made it easy. The location was the biggest win for me — very walkable and close to everything I wanted. The staff were really friendly and super nice, and they made the stay feel really welcoming. I had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

While the hotel was lovely, the noise level at night was unbearable. There were people just outside until 5 am making it impossible to sleep. Given that we had flown in that day, it was not good. One other side note. Our breakfast staff member thought it might be fun to engage us in a debate about the war in Israel. We were polite but it was totally inappropriate. We didn’t appreciate being lectured to in quite that manner.

Staff were very helpful and nice. You need to be able to negotiate super steep stairs with your luggage. I mean steep! We were on the 4 th floor, so this was a good workout. Luckily we take carry on luggage or I wouldn’t have been able to get to my room. They will help you if you can’t do it on your own. Easy access from Eurostar. Lots of close dining options. You are right in the middle of the city.

Absolutely magical spot right in the heart of it all! Quiet area, but close to it all - museums, shopping, canals! Mo and Vince at the front desk were amazing and helpful with recommendations and kindness. The upgraded room made the steps worth it and looking out over the canal with my wine was exactly what my soul needed.

Stayed at the backstage for one night on our way back to Toronto. The staff was kind, the rock n roll decor was very cool. They let us check in quite early and had water in the room which was appreciated. Rooms were clean and the location is very central to everything. I would stay again.

Check-in was very smooth and easy, and the girl that helped us at the beginning was extremely helpful and kind. Loved the location of the hotel, but the stairs were way deeper than we had expected, even though we were warned. We had another female employee that was a little rude to us when we stopped by in the morning and thought we could have some yogurt that was out, but everyone else was excellent

This is a really cool hotel located in the center of the city in the historic area. Easy ride to and from Amsterdam Central train station and conveniently located. Walkable to every place you can imagine in the historic district of Amsterdam. The room was clean and on the larger side, however it had a weird shape, this made it challenging to get around. We were in the 3rd floor ( equivalent to 4th floor in the US) and the stairs were a killer. Very steep and dangerous looking if you have mobility issues this is not the place for you. Also pack light if you plan to stay with them. There is no AC in the building, Amsterdam weather was mild during our visit, but one day got to mid 70 and the room was hot, you could not open the window all the way so this made air trapped in the room and this contributed to the problem. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definetely stay here again.

Great property for a quick in-and-out to Amsterdam. The hotel lobby is awesome with a great rock&roll design and great for meeting fellow guests at the small bar. The reception is very welcoming and helpful. Great location, very walkable along the canals. I had the shared bathroom/shower room (1 night only stay), which were very very basic. The windows are paper thin and Amsterdam on the weekends is VERY lively, so I got no sleep. Oh well. The steep stairs are also a death trap, so be careful and pack light if staying for a long time. Overall though, for what it is and the price point, it has a very charming bed and breakfast vibe that I enjoyed. The breakfast is also delightful and great quality, I left satisfied and ready to travel. Thank you!

Cute hotel with great character in a wonderful location - close to restaurants & the canal cruises. The staff were friendly & helpful. Walking distance to many different squares/areas. A few things to be mindful of: no elevator & there are 4 floors. Tiny winding staircase makes it difficult to carry your luggage up. The staff will offer to do it & I would recommend you let them. No air conditioning. Normally not an issue, but we were there in a "heat dome" so it was 30 degrees every day. We were on the 4th floor & it was very hot in our room. They did supply a floor fan which my husband put on the top ledge outside of the room's window to suck the air in. It finally cooled down at around 2 a.m. The safe in our room didn't work. The light in the bathroom was "motion" activated so wouldn't stay on when you were on the toilet or in the shower. We lived with these inconveniences because we liked the location & price & room size. If you are older you should consider staying somewhere with air conditioning & easier stairs (maybe an elevator). Apparently not many hotels in Amsterdam have air conditioning because it never gets that hot. Overall it was a good hotel & they do offer breakfast at a decent price.

I didn’t realize until they “reminded” me two days prior to check-in that I had booked a room with shared bathroom. Tiny sink and mirror in my room. Toilet was a few doors away on my floor. Shower was on the floor below me. Stairs are extremely steep and narrow (no elevator) so challenging to navigate even with just a wheeled carryon bag. Loved the music theme decor! There was also NO air conditioning and it was 90 degrees outside. Also a big problem since my husband uses a CPap machine to breathe at Night. Not ideal especially since we booked this 6 months in advance. The owner would not credit us for even half the amount even though we left after the 1st night.
