We really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent and close to a lot to do. It is an old building and has no lift, but the apartment was a good size and perfect for us.

Très bon emplacement ! Propre, une chambre plus qualitative que prévu ! Nous avions réservé une chambre avec lit superposé et finalement nous avons eu 2 lits individuels côte à côte ! Le personnel à l'accueil très aimable et serviable. Notre voiture était garée devant le parking de l'hôtel et il nous a proposé un service pour payer moins cher ! Je reviendrai sans hésiter ! Bon séjour à Amsterdam 😉

It's a very cozy little hotel with a nice breakfast buffet and extremely friendly staff that made an excellent coffee :). The night was nice and quiet. They were very accommodating to our dog.

Our room was around the corner is a supplement building. Lots of narrow and steep stairs. Hard to get suitcases up and down. Room was big and spacious but could be cleaner. It was very noisy, could hear traffic, voices from the street and it was very loud when people went up and down the steps. From the room above us, we could hear everything being said and loud footsteps walking around.

I booked a very small room with bunks beds. Inwas traveling solo, and on a budget. So, i have no issues with the size of the room, it was small. No air conditioning killed the whole thing. It's an old hotel, in a great location. The two guys working the desk were great. They actually got me a small fan to use, which saved my life when trying to sleep. Would i stay here again? In the winter, yes. In the summer, no.

The hotel is in a great location and handy for exploring on foot. The room had everything we needed however the heating was on full and there was no way to turn it off other than using a ceiling fan which was noisy. Ended up have to keep the windows open and it was blowing a gale all night which kept us awake and then the morning deliveries along the street. The bed was comfortable enough and the bathroom was much in need renovation but you get what you pay for and that never bothered us. If the heating hadn’t of been an issue and resulting in very little sleep my score would have been a little higher and I would have considered staying again

We stayed in room 35 which was at the back of the hotel. Two twin beds push together left barely enough room to walk on the sides of the bed. The room is excessively small. No air conditioning. Double window had no screens. Windows opened up to rear of courtyard which allowed the adjacent rooms to be able to look into our room quite easily. No space to put our luggage except on the floor. This room should be classified as a hostel, not a hotel.

Decent Hotel in fantastic location - Obviously in need of a spruce up renovation, but perfectly functional for everything you need. Liked the MiniBar, and lighting in the room. Didn't like the lack of sockets by the bed.

If you are looking for a great location with a view (the crooked houses are directly out the window across the canal), then this is your place. HOWEVER, the deferred maintenance on this place is overwhelming...worn carpet, sconces hardly hanging from the wall at bedside, rotten wood at the windows, hardware missing from worn out furniture... Let's just say that the pictures look much better than the actual accommodations we experienced. The manager on duty was friendly when he was there.

Owner was very friendly and helpful The hotel is old and very very charming with an amazing view of the canal. However it was definitely not clean, very dusty and our toilet was not cleaned properly upon our arrival. I believe even an old space should be clean.

Room was tiny, couldn’t swing a baby around. Toilet was damp, and I’m pretty sure the bed has bedbugs… we slept, and left. We tried to avoid staying there too long, it dampens the mood.

Staff were extremely kind, and helpful, especially as we did not speak much Dutch. Room was very cozy, the bedding was very comfortable and felt high quality. The room felt very clean and stayed warm during the snow. Great view of the canal. Bathroom was fine, a little outdated but no complaints functionality wise!

Placering er god, lige op til en af kanalerne. Stedet tager sig bedst ud fra ydersiden. Interiører og værelser er ganske slidte og eventuelt udført vedligehold kunne være udført med betydelig højere professionel stolthed. Der kunne nok også være brugt lidt ekstra tid på rengøring i hjørnerne. Men personalet var ganske venlige.

Lage war wirklich sehr gut, auch der Check-In verlief schnell und einfach. Zimmer waren einfach und praktisch eingerichtet, jedoch nicht wirklich sauber. Teils waren noch Reste von den Vorbesuchern im Bad. Wasserhahn sollte in der Spüle befestigt werden, bevor dieser endgültig kaputtgeht.

When we booked the room, we knew that we had booked a twin room. It was only when we arrived that we realised that the twin room was in fact bunk beds. Not exactly suitable for two older persons travelling. If it had not been our last night, we would have tried to find something else. The main area of concern though was the condition of the room - on entering you were met with an awful smell. We discovered that this was coming from the drain in the shower. Also the whole tap on the sink was loose and the toilet cistern and hardware cracked with paint peeling in the bathroom. The property needs some serious maintenance and updating. Looking at further reviews, we discovered that the property has had a problem with bed bugs too so not very conducive for a good nights sleep. Overall, this property should be more accurately described as a hostel based on the room that we stayed in, rather than a three star hotel. The host was friendly and we gave him our feedback in the morning.

La stanza era parecchio rumorosa, ed inoltre sono stati effettuati lavori mattutini proprio sulla finestra esterna e si sentiva un forte rumore. Il mobilio era molto vecchio con rubinetti laschi e tubi sul pavimento. Il letto con reti molto rumorose ogni volta che ci si muove. Per il resto bene, ottimo personale e posizione.

Such a lovely old traditional hotel in a brilliant central location for exploring the city centre. We walked from main station in 20 mins, check in was very efficient and the room had a gorgeous view over the River Amstel. Bars and restaurants are all around the corners from here and felt very safe walking around at night. Rooms were very clean and warm as we stayed in February. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again if we return.

We did not a have a good experience. Unfortunately, we booked the wrong dates, our mistake, so we had to pay for two nights even though we could only stay the second night. Manager was really unfriendly, wasn't accommodating or apologetic at all. Also, the reviews on this site are misleading, they are all really positive. We started reading google reviews as soon as we put the hotel into our maps. Terrible reviews on there. Complaints about bed bugs, unfriendly service, dirty conditions of the hotel, etc. We thought about staying there for the one night, after looking at the room we immediately left and paid for a hotel across the canal. We still had to pay full price for the two nights, such a rip off. Lesson learned, don't book with travelocity and don't trust their reviews.

This is our fourth trip staying at the Amsterdam House. Great friendly service. Can be kind of noisy at times. A couple of nights there were very noisy guests above us at 2AM. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the visit.
This is our fourth trip staying at the Amsterdam House. Great friendly service. Can be kind of noisy at times. A couple of nights there were very noisy guests above us at 2AM. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the visit.

Such a lovely old traditional hotel in a brilliant central location for exploring the city centre. We walked from main station in 20 mins, check in was very efficient and the room had a gorgeous view over the River Amstel. Bars and restaurants are all around the corners from here and felt very safe walking around at night. Rooms were very clean and warm as we stayed in February. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again if we return.

It's a very cozy little hotel with a nice breakfast buffet and extremely friendly staff that made an excellent coffee :). The night was nice and quiet. They were very accommodating to our dog.

The hotel is a perfect location … very old and quaint. However needs some upgrading and maintenance. Similar to a hostel …but clean sheets and duvet / so perfect. If you are looking for someplace close and walkable to city center - and only use your room to sleep - perfect.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by the level of service throughout my visit. The canal view is beautiful. Loved the room ambience and the location. The bathroom desperately needs updating. Tile and grout is worn out which makes it feel unclean. Staff were great. Did not eat breakfast at hotel.
