Great stay in a very friendly country inn. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, the Guinness was great, the bed was really comfortable and I look forward to coming back. One note if you’re an American like me— don’t just ask Siri to get directions to the Dog & Partridge because apparently there’s a pub with that name in every village, lol. When I finally got to the right one, though, it was worth it!

The welcome we received at the Dog and Partridge from David was excellent. We were quickly booked in and directed to our accommodation. A good feature was that our vehicles were able to be parked close to the room. The room was clean, well maintained and perfectly satisfactory. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was served without undue delay and was adequate and nourishing. Local Alton beer, which was available at the bar went down a treat. After a sound sleep, and shower we had breakfast in the hotel. This again was perfectly fine and met all of our expectations. The hotel itself is set in rolling countryside and has marvellous views over unspoilt pastures and distant woodland. It is quite idyllic. I would certainly recommend this hotel to any traveller.

Had a very tasty breakfast served by one of their lovely staff . The options on menu and continental was superb . The room was lovely could do with one extra plug socket near the bed as I have a sleep machine which would be easier to plug in near bed . Though I never said anything but I’m sure if I had the staff would have been very helpful as they are . Recommend if ever you are near that way call in even if just for a drink . Also the surroundings and scenery around you is beautiful.
