Pinc Lady Mansion

This is a beautiful mansion, great location. The room and bathroom felt cold, no individual heater in either room. Thin extra blanket made it warm enough. Bathroom was located outside the bedroom. No shoes allowed in the house, slippers provided. 10 am checkout is early for us.

First, this IS NOT a bed and breakfast. Expedia needs to change the description. It’s a bed and K-cup coffee. Second, most of the rooms share bathrooms unless you want to pay the equivalent of double the room price. If nobody has signed for that you’ll end up sharing two full baths and a half bath between 3-4 rooms. Third, I was surprised to find that Eureka has a problem with vagrants. While this didn’t pose a problem for this location there is potential. Parking is only on the street. Do not leave anything in your car that may be enticing for a break in. That is a city wide problem. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and check in was easy. In the end the shared bathroom was a non-issue. Just be aware of the house rules… which again are not listed anywhere in Expedia. I would look at their web site directly. Read all the fine print details and be clear on what you’re getting before booking.

A beautiful house that’s lovingly maintained. Our room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable. The host is very friendly. The downside was no private parking, and having to take our shoes off in the house.

The Pinclady inside and out is beautiful and uniquely Victorian. Perhaps there should be warnings about stairs and shared bathrooms down the hall.

Is this stay worth it? Absolutely. Is it your average experience? No, in the best way. The view? Stunning. The bed? Luxurious. The experience? Unforgettable. Now with all that being said, please read the listing carefully- you have to share restroom/shower facilities unless you book additionally for private. No shoes. Check-in time very particular; must have a mobile phone. You are close quarters with other guests, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a more intimate experience. Communicate with the host, and you will have yourself an unforgettable time in the region- anyone who left a bad review were probably expecting a chain hotel experience- when the best thing about the Pinc is it so very human- which was amazing in this automated/corporate world. Walking distance to downtown shops and dining, some homeless about but they move through the area and don't set up camp, but that is hard to avoid in any city in California. If you're thinking about it; you should go for it! Take advantage of a cool opportunity to have a new memory!

Parking is on the street but it is right out front of the property. Beautiful period home (1800's). Clawfoot tub/shower, beautiful wood and crystal throughout.

The Pinc Lady is beautiful. Old Victorian Manaion with Queen Ann architecture. A lot of the house is original. The only hardship is the rooms are all upstairs but so unique and beautiful it was worth the 5 trips up the stairs to carry the luggage. The house is still in original form for the most part and it has 4 bedrooms that must share two bathrooms. We were the only guests there for our stay so we had the place to our self. We would stay there again (just pack lightly). Parking is on the street which I was worried about but it was ok. No one bothered our car. Host is super nice and friendly. And she will share the history of the house and the surrounding area. It is quite interesting. If you are even in the area stay here. You won’t regret it.

The property is beautiful! Our room was gorgeous and super comfortable. The owner took us on a quick tour of the Pinc Lady and included some history about the house.. Everything was perfect, but be prepared as the bathrooms are not en-suite. Breakfast is included and small but good (home made muffins, muesli, coffee, tea, juice, etc.)

At the start, had to take shoes off regardless of medical condition. Many rules. Lecture on rules from the start. No food or drink in the room. No luggage on bed or any furniture. Only able to use side door to enter and exit. Makes it seem on website as it’s a bed and breakfast when it says “dine” on front page. Shared bathrooms when it never mentions it prior to arrival. Parking was unsafe regardless of one camera simply recording the crime.

Homeless zombies all around. 20 narrow stairs to the rooms. Shared bathrooms. Not a fan.

The innkeeper was very welcoming and explained the history of the house and area. The house has been recently remodeled and is in good shape and very clean. As you should expect from a historic house like this, there are a few extra house rules to preserve it and there are shared bathrooms for the guests, but they were very clean and it wasn't really an issue. The mattress was new and very comfortable, and I appreciated the California King size as I am 6' tall. Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay in a beautiful and historic victorian house.

Beautiful Victorian in capable hands. Jacqueline has an eye for style and grace, her son has the ability to carry them out. I was warmly welcomed and I immediately asked for a historical tour which Jacqueline obliged with passion. Her knowledge of local history and her dining recommendations were spot-on. I felt lucky to be able to chat with her again the following night. Wonderful host. Don’t be put off by the shared bathrooms. There are four guest rooms and three restrooms. Everything inside and outside were immaculate. There were so much to see and enjoy in and around Eureka, but I found myself heading back to The Pinc as soon as I finished my day’s work. It’s a special place.

Great place! Super clean, comfortable, and quiet. Don't be deterred by the shared bathrooms. I was there for three nights and it was never an issue.

We enjoyed our stay at the Pinc Lady Mansion. It's a beautiful and historic residence and our hosts were friendly and helpful. Both our room and the shared spaces were very clean and in great condition. Even though the rooms are close to each other and there are shared bathrooms it still felt very quiet, well laid out and there are two full bathrooms plus a half bath so we never had to wait. Like many cities these days there are a fair number of houseless people in the area so we felt more comfortable driving than walking too far from the immediate area but we had no real issues. Our hosts gave great recommendations for dining options and there is a nice shopping area in town. We also really enjoyed driving around to see other amazing Victorian homes in the area. We would definitely stay here again when back in the area.

Our one night stay was amazing. The room was big and the bed was comfy. The rooms look exactly like the pictures, but it is a must stay if you are near Eureka. The whole Mansion was immaculate and what a treat to be able to stay in such a beautiful Victorian home. Thank you Jacqueline for making this unique experience possible. It is greatly appreciate it!

The owner showed us around and offered a wonderful history lesson on this magnificent home! The room was clean and bed was exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom is nearby and very clean. thank you for a delightful birthday stay!

As with any antique building it is daunting to keep up with the dust accumulation in all the ornate details. Also I do not believe there is heat. We found a tiny heater in the closet but it just took the chill off. Beautiful building. Great view from the turret room. Nice treats for guests. Comfy bed.

We did not have a great time at this location. I would not stay there again. According to the online description, we had to be there between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. We arrived at 4:30 p.m. and were quickly shown around the bottom-story rooms. I thought we could go back and check them out, but we found out that we weren't allowed back into the rooms unless we reserved the entire house. The online reservation didn't mention sharing a bathroom, which was located at the end of the hall from our room. Although I was excited to use the old bathtub, the hot water came out very slowly, taking 20 minutes just to fill the base of the tub. The shower also had a weak water flow. The thin walls made it easy to hear the neighbor snoring all night, and we were also disturbed by other guests arriving late, making a lot of noise. The rooms were hot and could have used a fan and a noise maker to improve the stay. The lack of these amenities was disappointing. If I had known all of this beforehand, I would have chosen a different place to stay.

The property was historic and the bed may have been the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in!

This was a lovely old house with wonderful history. The room was light , bright and spacious with a very comfortable bed. It was on Expedia as a Bed and Breakfast but was told by the lady that there was no breakfast. However there was coffee and tea downstairs.

When I saw this property, I knew I had to stay here! A beautiful pink Victorian home, what’s not to love. It was beautifully appointed and the host provided history for the property. My room was large and very comfortable. After walking around the downtown area of Eureka, I sat in the lovely turret area of my room and had a view of the mansion across the street and the water. I thought that the drawback would be the shared bathrooms but there are 2 very large delightful bathrooms and a half bath, so there were no issues during my stay. As this is a historic home, there were some rules that were no problem to comply with. A nice treat.

Jacqueline, the owner, is so wonderful! She spent time giving me a tour of the Pinc Lady, and I learned so much about the town as well. I’m a history nut, and Jacqueline is extremely knowledgeable. It’s obvious she and her son are passionate about preserving and enhancing the property. My room was beautiful and so comfortable with robes, a mini fridge, and big TV. There are three bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub and one with a huge shower. So grateful I was able to stay in this amazing piece of history! Can’t wait to go back.

We had the convenience of wifi and super comfy beds, while enjoying the charm of yesteryear in our beautiful room! Tall ceilings, tasteful decor and lovely vintage details. Plus, we could walk to old town easily and view all the amazing architecture and cool murals. Great dining, too, especially the Green Lily for breakfast. Jacqueline was great and welcomed us warmly! Do yourself a favor, and book a room at the Pinc Lady!

Our stay at Pinc Lady was great! We were welcomed by Mario and given a lot of information about the area and Inn. It is such a cute Inn with antiques and parlors you are welcome to use. We felt very safe there. I would highly recommend this place!

Perfect one night stay. Comfortable bed. Host was remarkable and gave me a tour and history of the mansion. Got in late and was greeted at the gate. Would highly recommend.

Checking in was hard as no-one was there so to enter I opened a wire gate, then had to haul my case round the building on an unlit path across flagstones set in dirt, case needing to be carried rather than wheeled . Entry with a keypad, then you arrive in a dark kitchen, are asked to take off shoes in dark hall and carry bags up poorly lit stairs .Room directions were incorrect, and No instructions or password given for how to access wifi, which would have been helpful. I paid extra for a private bathroom but it smelled so strongly of industrial bleach, to the extent it burned my eyes, that it was completely unusable. I never went into it after opening door once and used the small shared half bath, so that felt like being charged for nothing . I have lived in 16th and 17th C. homes so do like old houses but the bedroom was full of bits and pieces of ugly furniture none of which added to the comfort of the guest, indeed mostly detracted .There was nowhere to put away clothes, only a rickety rail with three coat hangers. Bed was wobbly and with a metal back making it uncomfortable to sit up and read , and the mattress was as soft as a marshmallow so really uncomfortable after a long drive. The bedroom also smelled of bleach but in order to open a window I had to haul a heavy table with huge light away from the window. The bleach smell persisted all night, and despite fatigue I woke at 5:00 am, left at 6:00 am, relieved to be gone. Worst hotel I have been in last10 years

Located two blocks off the main thoroughfare and six blocks from the waterfront dining/shopping district, this elegant and historically accurate Victorian mansion offers views of the bay and the Carson mansion across the street. Jaqueline answered the door when I arrived and guided a tour of mansion that included a big dose of regional history. I truly enjoyed my stay and would stay again

The building is beautiful and the room I had was nice. The manager was not great. They had asked when I would be arriving, and I called and left a message and also texted, but when I got there I stood outside for over 10 min in the cold. Rang doorbell twice and texted. You're not allowed to wear shoes. Shared bath, and make sure you don't touch anything or leave anything, including your towels. There were no hand towels. I felt like an intruder, not a guest.

Beautiful place. A landmark Victorian updated with amenities. Owner welcoming and gave an informative historical tour of the house. Truly loves what she does.

Street parking We arrived 10 minutes early and the owner was displeased and let us know as such. Her son was very nice over the phone when I called that morning and said we could come anytime between 3 and 4. His phone number is listed on The “rules” sheet they emailed; so I figured he was in charge. The owner (his mother) said he gave us incorrect info: perhaps they should have a meeting about procedures. She apologized but the damage was done. No one wants to begin a vacation by being scolded. She also told us personal things about herself.This is inappropriate to tell guests personal things. I don’t recommend this hotel.

Highly recommend! Lovingly restored, beautiful furnishings, across the street from the historic Carson Mansion, sweet family onsite to make sure you're settled in, right near downtown and the harbor.

My six year old and I had a great time here! What a beautiful historic building and nice hospitality. Jacqueline gave us an interesting tour when we got there. Everything was super clean and our room was pretty large and comfortable, with a couple couches and a bed we slept well in. There are fun things to do along the waterfront nearby. Street parking was easy. There was a little activity from the local unhoused folks out on the street in the neighborhood but didn't feel unsafe to us. We'll come back!

Cool place, close walking distance to downtown. Very accommodating for the motorcycles.

In all honesty we did not stay there. We booked well in advance and were excited to stay there. We arrived and found the area totally unsafe and overrun with homeless people. We got out of our car which street parking is the only option and were immediately hit up for money by a local. We walked down the block because we arrived early and when we returned we found two guys looking in our car at the content of the car. We got in out of there immediately and found a much safer location 30 miles down the road. This is not a safe neighborhood

Inn keeper was very nice and friendly. However, the location is not safe with many wandering bums and homeless. It was very inconvenient b/c bathrooms is outside from bedroom and shared with other people and we have to carry bags for the long and stiff stairs.

What a wonderful place to stay. My daughter and I stayed here after we visited Cal Poly Humboldt. The Pinc Lady is a few blocks off the main road in town, it was easy to find, great location, and wonderful views. It is seated across from the Carson Mansion, and the owner spotlighted the historical connection between the two locations. Soon, they will have a wine bar on location, which will add to the charm! I would absolutely stay here again!

This is a very nice old Victorian house. Dinner was just a short walk away. AA Steakhouse may look like a dive bar, but don't be fooled. They have excellent steaks, great service, and reasonable prices.We loved our stay and would highly recommend the Pinc Lady Mansion .if you ever find yourself in Eureka

We really enjoyed our short stay in this unique and beautiful historical home. Our room was cozy and clean with a very comfortable king bed, a big TV and a sitting area with beautiful views of the Carson House and harbor/bay. The shared bathroom was clean and spacious. At checkin, the kind host met us and helped carry our heavy suitcases up the staircase which we really appreciated! He also recommended places to eat nearby. The historical center with good dining options and shops is a very short drive away. We enjoyed delicious sushi at the Rooftop and amazing coffee at Familia Eureka. We’d love to come back and spend more time here!

No on site food but the owner can point you in the right direction. Was cold at night until I found the little plug in heater (but I am cold generally). Room was cute and cozy. No fireplace; that would have been amazing! Very nice and helpful staff and really good people.

A Perfect Stay at the Pinc Lady Mansion! This was the perfect stop on our road trip! The mansion is absolutely stunning—every detail throughout the house is beautifully curated, making it feel both elegant and cozy. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, and we had one of the best nights of sleep on our trip. Our host was an absolute delight—warm, welcoming, and full of fantastic recommendations for local dining. If you’re visiting Eureka, do yourself a favor and definitely stay here. You won’t regret it!

Checking in the owner gives you a tour and provides the history of the property and the area around the property. She is an excellent host. The rooms are clean and comfortable. If you like historic mansions this is an opportunity to stay the night on one. The owner is also looking to open a restaurant and I look forward to returning.
