Enjoyed the facilities but room probably not up to new Premier Inn standards. Leisure facilities were good though steam room was out of order, some locals not expecting it to be repaired any time soon. Restaurant choice and food more than acceptable. All in all a reasonable choice if need to be in this part of the country.

Bathrooms have had money spent on them but the cleaning of the showers is not prolonging the look of them. Mattress was comfy but pillows too hard and some lumpy. Food was excellent and bar/restaurant service. Spa area - changing rooms need some TLC, jacuzzi wasn't very warm and chlorine smell was very overpowering. Overall a pleasant stay.

Some great things about this hotel: excellent gym, one of the best massages I’ve had, super breakfast, spacious room. Some slightly less positive things: room was quite dusty, bed was a little small, and a real bench mark of a quality hotel for me - are the towels big and fluffy? They were not! The main negative for me though: we had an awful journey up the motorway, which was closed in both directions, meaning we missed our 20h30 table reservation for supper. We kept in touch with reception during our journey, and were told the kitchens would be shutting at 21hr (last orders at 20h45). We finally got there at 21:02, and were told we couldn’t have any food other than a somewhat limited sandwich or pizza room service selection. Honestly, we’d have thought there could have been a little bit of flexibility. We ended up getting a picnic from Sainsbury’s round the corner - not what we had envisaged for what was meant to be a special night. Overall, plenty of positives, but some bits and bobs that really let things down.

The hotel is rather dirty - the carpets / chairs are all stained and look dirty. The bathroom are outdated with blackness around the bath. The lamp shade in bedroom fell on my head. Breakfast is all Highly Process Food, no fresh food. This hotel has seen better days .

Our room was towards the back of the building, so nice and quiet away from the wedding celebrations. The room was clean and comfortable, but very hot even with the window open, so that made sleep difficult. We had a lovely meal in the brasserie in the evening and breakfast was good (self service.)

Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything next door. Rooms are too hot. No real value for money and i expect a lot better for £160 for one night. On the plus side the staff are the only real credit to your poor hotel.

Room 105 Pros: good location, room is okay with plenty of USB charging points. Bathroom is small but shower is powerful. Free wifi and free parking. Breakfast is good with lots of options (coffee is not great). Cons: tiny windows in room and no air con. It’s probably fine most of the year but not during a hot summer. No air was circulating in the room. Room is above the restaurant so quite noisy if you fancy an early night. And view from window is of the storage containers by kitchen where staff take their break and chat quite loudly. You also get the added nuisance of 3 air con units placed right by the windows kicking in every 20min and rather noisily. I got an awful night sleep so probably wouldn’t book there again. I will stick to Whitley Hall.

Underwhelming, to be honest. Mattress deeply uncomfortable. No air con (there is a fan in the cupboard but not v powerful). Plugs by the desk but not by the bed (for charging phone overnight etc). Stairs from carpark to accommodation seemed awkward, followed by a gravel path. Ok for us but wouldn't fancy that in high heels or with a walking stick etc. The building looks so nice from the exterior, we had high expecations.

I liked the room. I enjoyed the swimming pool, steam room etc. The restaurant offered a great selection of foods, with Western and Asian fusion cuisine. The breakfast was also decent. However, my room (room 105) was near a generator or something that kept coming on in two minute intervals and I couldnt sleep. I ended up asking them if there was anything they could do about it so they gave me another room (room 50), which wasnt as good as my previous room I had but at least it was quiet. I would stay again but be very careful on the room you get.

We loved staying at the Tankersley Manor Hotel. The whole set up and establishment was extremely enjoyable. The staff at the Tankersley from the reception, cleaning, swimming attendants, bar staff were extremely thoughtful, kind and caring. My wife was ill on the later part of our four day stay and the cleaning staff checked in on my wife to see if she was ok while I travelled to get her some medications. All staff were open to Ideas and were helpful in making our stay as good as possible. We would recommend the Mercure Tankersley Manor Hotel to anyone who is looking for value and service. A great group of people who work well across the board, understand their business and together are a well oiled machine. Thank you for our stay we truly enjoyed it and would return for sure. A five stars from us!!

The property appears to be geared towards weddings at the weekends. Unfortunately we couldn't be put into a quiet room away from the entertainment. The bass was very loud indeed and after calling reception at 11.30pm, they did turn it down a little, which was appreciated (12.30 is when they have to finish apparently). Regrettably a group of young girls then came back to the adjacent room and continued the party until the early hours, which added to a very disturbed night. If you are part of the party and expecting this, I'm sure you'll be fine (tolerant), if you are expecting a relaxing stay, peaceful and quiet (at the weekend), I'd make sure they put you in the opposite end of the hotel to the entertainment. Would also be nice if a member of staff walked the corridors to check that everyone is being considerate in the early hours (2.30am is beyond acceptable).

I checked in here on 28th October. i was not greeted by what could only be described a rude, non engaging reception you girl. This must be the 1st time a hotel front of house staff member did not speak to me or offer a welcome, just a cant be arsed stare instead. I was not asked if i wanted to eat in the bar / dining room, i was not offered breakfast or if i would like to open a tab. Simply unbelievable! Tankersley is a stunning building, but that is where it stops. Unfortunately, like many hotels, it is in need of a full renovation, its very 80's. however, the rooms are spacious and clean. Staff at breakfast were fantastic, from the greeting to register your room to the kitchen staff keeping the plenty of choice well stocked up.

Staff were great at check in but the room was so noisy. We could hear every word of conversations from a family next to us. The corridors are also noisy. Premier Inns are quieter! A real shame as the pool facilities are great as is parking and location but lack of a good nights sleep lets the hotel down

The hotel is beautiful, but the food was awful. We couldn’t eat it as one meal was far too salty and the other was microwaved too much, both inedible. We complained and the manager was quick to rectify the problem. The en-suites could be more eco friendly by having a card, as most hotels do now, saying please reuse towels if possible, leaving those you want replaced on the floor.

My husband and I stayed at this property for a weekend visit, in March 25. The breakfasts were great in the mornings! On our first night we had food at the hotel, the menu choice was very poor, and very expensive, also the atmosphere in the dining area was dreadful. It felt like a café. It might have been more relaxing to lower the lights and put some music on in the background. Also the tables were not dressed with cloths and candles. It was not relaxing! We loved swimming in the pool and all the staff were very friendly. Our room was great but we had no view! We looked out on a large grass bank and a few trees. Overall a good place to stay with good road connections.

Disappointing menu and gave up trying to book table after waiting for 15 minutes at the bar. Paid for room upgrade which consisted of a non-dressed 4 post bed with torn duvet cover. Mediocre and overpriced breakfast. Shame as hotel looks impressive.
