Room floor was so dirty that the bottom of your feet were dirty. Used a towel to wipe water from the floor and it turned it brown. The whole hotel needs some serious renovations. Pool tiles cracked and missing all over. Pool towels used to be white but are dirty and brownish. Breakfast food was gross and cold. Never will I be back to this hotel.

Great stay as always but they desperately need to jack up the friggin heat in the pool and in the room. The water is so cold that its to the point where my kids lips turn blue. Then when they get out of the water to go down the slide the room temperature is also freezing.

Was a decent property, good waterslide and pool for kids looking to burn of energy. Breakfast was good as well

Great location, family suite perfect, lots of space. Pool and waterslide is nice but unfortunately not heated. They need to heat it!!!! The pull out double couch was great but the throw cushion smelled terrible ( so need a good cleaning). Breakfast was great and hotel is nice.

Nice pool with water slide

Very clean and great staff. I was unfortunately located in the back where I had to carry my luggage up the stairs to the second floor. They really need to address this lack of elevator for that section of their building.

There was no elevator to the part of the building in which we were staying. This made it very difficult when we were carrying our heavy luggage when we arrived and when we left.

Clean, comfortable, swim pool with water slide was awesome. Close to everything would definitely return again

Clean and comfortable room

Was probably a great place at some point. It’s very expensive considering the outdated and unclean common areas. Our bed sheets had multiple stains and dirty and ripped carpet. WiFi is terrible and staff not courteous. Pick another hotel - very dissatisfied.

Well to start the service was awesome, they let me check in an hour and a half early! But the room I was in in the motel section room number (161) has a bad mildew smell in the whole room and I found mold on the window casing when I was trying to air out the room, than I was in the bathroom and there’s mold on the wall above the sink around the light fixture, I woke up with a sore throat and my nose is running as I was perfectly fine when I checked in and went to bed

Unfortunately something happened to our floor prior to checking in, whole floor was wet all night.. Very weird. Bathroom was not cleaned.

The smell of mildew hits you in the face as you open the door; I spoke to the attendant on duty and he came down to the room and informed me that they aware of the odor and have in turn informed the owners who have done nothing…my concern is why rent this room out to people when they know there is an issue; its not that there was nothing else available because they offered us to look at 2 additional rooms that were available if we wanted to move…along with the musty smell, the sink/tub drain poorly and baseboards are falling off….definitely needs some TLC

The location was convenient, and the buffet was agreeable. We stayed in a drive-up room. The room smelled musty upon arrival, and the air conditioner was so loud and kicked on numerous times overnight, waking us up at each interval. The bathroom shower was unfortunately tiled with evidence of mold starting as well as the pink bacteria Serratia marcescens. This was also the only hotel we stayed at that actually took a deposit in case of damages, rather than just keeping the card number temporarily on file.

The Dovet and pillowcases were so dirty with some blood dots. Also, the blanket I found over the shoes closet was smelly. It was a lot dirtier than I expected

Room had a view to inside hallway to other rooms. Motel side rooms smelled musty.

The staff at the Rodd Royalty are very friendly and helpful. The check-in experience was fast and effortless. The loft suite was huge, well-maintained, clean and suited our needs for a family-friendly vacation spot. The pool area was clean and water temperature was perfect. Breakfast was a good hearty delicious breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel

Its a bit dated, and the sound proofing between rooms is non existent. Unfortunately, I had really loud and early rising neighbours, which didn't help after a not so good nights sleep! The bathroom seemed newer, although the sink area was small. I would have appreciated a comfy chair for relaxing in. Definitely not 4.5 stars, maybe a 3

Great hotel in a convenient location . Close to shopping, restaurants, etc. We were upgraded to a nice room on the ground floor with a little outdoor patio and a couple of chairs. Room was clean and modern. No carpets which is always a good feature for cleanliness. Big tv was awesome. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

This property is very basic. I want to point out some things that aren't really a huge deal, but when putting them together can be an issue for people and it's something to be aware of. The hotel appears to be split into two different parts. If you are in the second part, there is no elevator and you have to carry your suitcases up stairs. In this area as well (and possible the rest of the hotel I don't really know) the main window for the room faces the hallway? So we had to keep the curtains closed the entire time so people weren't looking in or us seeing them walk by, and the room was very dark otherwise. Was also very small, and outdated and there was a bit of a musty smell. One of the beds was also terrible, I think it was broken as the other bed was firm, and ours was very sinky (our child was in the other bed so we couldn't use it) Breakfast was ok, lots of variety but taste was meh but it was included so that's a plus. Parking was included which is good, and overall things were clean so despite it sounding like I'm complaining, it's fine for what it was but just be aware if you are looking for higher end as this is not.

Stayed with my family in the executive suite which was advertised as being soundproof. It wasn't. We could hear people in the hallway and the neighboring rooms. Also, the pictures make it look like the suite is 2 rooms, when, in fact the wall Berrien the bedroom and living area has a 2 or 3 foot gap at the top. This means that you can hear everything in either room. I booked this for my family, so the young kids had a seperate sleeping area. However, given the lack of sound proofing between rooms, it was not a restful sleep. The hotel itself is fine. Great pool and really nice staff. This doesn't make up for the false advertising about the room and the super high costs. Unfortunately, we won't be staying there again.

Great service. Room was spacious

The old motel section we were in was okay but the heating cooling was an old poorly installed very noisy window ac. The main building looks very nice.

May be necessary to upgrade from the older AC units in the Motel Rooms. Had to have ours on the whole time we were there or it would get incredibly warm. The unit was quite noisy though. Otherwise a great stay!

I did not stay they cancelled my reservation and I have not got a refund. The front desk guy was atrocious in his attitude and I will never stay there

The staffbis always friendly and efficiennt. The room was cozy and clean with everything one would need. Close to lots of shopping and food options. Parking for the truck and trailer. Would stay again.

We had a great experience here. The breakfast was really nice especially considering it’s included. Something for everyone and leveled up. The staff also goes above and beyond. Someone is always cleaning the tables and assisting with disposal of dishes. The games room and the pool were great bonuses (our kids loved both). Cleaning staff and front desk staff always helpful and I can’t say enough positive things about our stay here.

Amazing staff that was able to help with all of our requests

We checked in on Sunday. On Monday housekeeping knocked on the door to ask if we wanted fresh towels. We didn’t see them again until Thursday. No fresh towels, room not cleaned, garbage/recycling not emptied, toilet paper not replaced. Nothing. Wednesday I did speak to housekeeping at 4:30pm who said that they would get to my room in 10 minutes. They never came. There is very limited parking at the front of the hotel. As a result, we had to park in the lot behind the hotel. This wasn’t a problem until our car was broken into on Wednesday night! I spoke to the front desk about it l. They said they would review their security camera footage and get back to me. They never did. Overall, not a great stay. $300/nt could have been better spent elsewhere.

Great location, close to shopping, fast food, less then 10 minute too downtown. great staff, kind, helpful & informative. Hot & cold breakfast included. Quiet area & excellent bed for a good night sleep.

Good location to the airport

Very convenient location with lots shopping and dining options in the area. Easy to get to downtown Charlottetown.

Over all, this is a very good option for travellers looking to be close to Charlottetown without being right downtown. It is located within walking distance of shopping and restaurants, and it’s easy to access. The annex portion is somewhat dated, but clean. All of the staff I encountered were very nice.

Convenient location

The property and stay was good and as expected. Our experience dining at Wally’s Restaurant was a nightmare. We waited 20 minutes to get menus and our food arrived before our drinks. We had no cutlery and couldn’t find anyone to ask. Food also didn’t come out as ordered. We are pretty easy to please but in this case the convenience of a hotel dining room just wasn’t worth it.

This is a great hotel for Charlottetown and exploring PEI, and only a short drive to the beaches of the National Park / Green Gables. Great service from check in staff, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast has a great choice of cooked and continental options. The restaurant has a small dinner menu but good value although this isn’t open every night.

Hot breakfast and service at the breakfast area was excellent. Very clean

Aside from breakfast, which had a limited variety of food, everything else was wonderful.

Toilet in room was not working properly. Had to use lobby bathroom (bathroom in lobby was not properly stocked with toilet paper and one toilet was clogged). Games room lacked options for younger children. Pool was good but pool deck needs attention - where pool deck slopes to change room is dangerous to walk on because it is very slick when wet also pool steps felt slimy. Many tiles need replacing. Breakfast was good but both mornings it was very busy and food was not replenished frequently enough.

We stayed 4 nights at the Rodd Royalty. Overall we had a good time and no major issues. While we chose a more budget friendly hotel some of the amenities were underwhelming and in the future we would likely spend a bit more to upgrade our stay somewhere in a better area with nicer amenities. However, it wasn’t terrible and we did have a good time. Pros: - Check in /out was smooth - Staff were delightful - Parking was easy and accessible - Breakfast was decent - Pool was a nice touch Cons: - the rooms were not so great. The bathroom was unappealing to be in. There were what looked like black mold stains in the shower, the trim and toilet paper dispenser were wonky and just looked unkept. Useable but off putting and seems like something that could be easily fixed if they wanted to. - TV didn’t have smart functions so it wasn’t great to use late at night - Could easily hear other guests in their rooms if they moved something etc - The view was just of a busy road which was underwhelming and a bit noisy - location was a busy area of town and not what we were expecting from PEI. It wasn’t walkable to anything exciting unfortunately although it was convenient to be near box stores and chain restaurants in a pinch. - food would run out at the restaurant, and staff wasn’t managing patrons as there was a lot of chaos in the breakfast buffet area - not related to the hotel itself but found there were a lot of rude/loud guests in common areas beyond what you would expect

The hotel is much bigger than it appears outside. Very clean, great breakfast, Shopping within walking distance. The restaurant however was closed when we were there which was an inconvenience. We booked a suite but the layout, which means the only bathroom is upstairs where the beds are - didn't work for us and we ended up having to book a second room for one of the couples. I would defintely stay here again but would not rent the suite, and would ask if the restaurant was going to be open.
