Charlottetown Inn & Conference Centre

The property is under construction, so it’s a mess. Wifi was terrible. Pool was cloudy. The room was clean though!

Few issues with the room so had to move to another. Internet service was poor at both. Few other things not working but currently undergoing renovations so hopefully will rectify soon. Pool was lovely.

Convenient to downtown, friendly staff, the room was in the new part but they still have a lot of Reno’s to do. While the room was clean and redone, you could still smell smoke in the bathroom and the hallways were very outdated and Ned to be recarpeted and made more modern. Breakfast was gross, my husband cracked open three hard boiled eggs and they were gray. We couldn’t eat the food. All staff were very friendly. We used the gym who j was great, but didn’t use the pool, but saw kids in it playing.

Basic clean hotel with a few things that are getting to the end of their lifespan. Would stay here again as the gym was excellent and the pool was a nice warm temperature.

Renovated room was only floors done. Construction going on all day in the room beside us. Old window air conditioner that didn't hardly work and when ours wasn't on the one above dripped on it and that's all you could hear. The construction workers left foot marks of sawdust all down the hall and wasn't cleaned up. We were told there was a tunnel which went across to the pool and the tunnel says enter at your own risk. When it said North building I did not know it was across the road and still under construction or I wouldn't of rented it. Not happy at all.

Large clean comfortable room. Appreciated the fact that there was mini fridge and microwave. Very centrally located in Charlottetown. Was disappointed that the pool was closed for renovations. We would have booked a different hotel if we had been aware of that.

Check-in was quick and easy, and we stayed in the rooms across the street at the Convention Center, where there was plenty of free parking. Our room had two queen beds, cable TV, a microwave, a mini refrigerator, and a single-cup coffee maker. There was also a table with two chairs, which was convenient. Also, an ice machine and coin laundry on second floor. Breakfast was served in the main building, accessible by an underground tunnel. Even though the property is undergoing renovations, the grounds and site were kept clean and well maintained. Breakfast included the usual options: bagels, muffins, toast, yogurt, cereal, a waffle-making station, boiled eggs, tea, coffee, juice, and fruit. My only suggestion would be to add gluten-free options—otherwise, guests with dietary restrictions may want to bring their own breakfast. There is also a pool on site in the main building, although we didn’t check it out during our stay. The location is excellent—you can walk to just about anywhere. The price point was fantastic, and the staff were both friendly and efficient. While the rooms are a little outdated, it’s clear that renovations are underway to improve the space. Overall, this isn’t the Ritz-Carlton, but it had everything we needed at a great value. For the price and location, I’d definitely recommend it!

We didn't stay, thought we were getting a redone room no carpet. The entrance smelled like cigarettes. The carpet in the room was filthy. Bad smell. AC in the window was loud and dirty. Elevator broken. Didn't even check the bathroom.

Room was for the most clean..lots of cobwebs..the paint is peeling in the bathroom but they are under renovations, so that should be cleaned up soon. Beds were cozy and comfortable pillows awesome. Hot water took forever to come up in the shower.. didn't show up in the sink tap. Window was broken didn't open and when we tried it was a struggle to close. Air conditioning was not circulating the best stayed at 20 in the room was hoping for a bit cooler but was okay to sleep. Plenty of parking. Staff were friendly. No view from the window but not a big deal. Bar fridge was good, tv worked fine, lots of room to walk around, tub plug was stuck closed had to put something underneath it to keep it open to drain water. Long walk to elevator for my mom she's unstable..stairs were a lot. Pool was warm and lots of towels there, don't think it's been cleaned in awhile though lots of weird fluffy floaties. Breakfast was good had a variety of items toast, bagels and waffles. Juices,coffee (was good)cereal and fruit, yogurts..teas.

Carpets were filthy and stained in hallway and in room. There were batteries in the sheets. The shower had mould and orange stuff growing all over the tile and it smelled like cigarette smoke. I will never go back.

Cockroaches in the bathroom

Bathroom was dirty. Towels were stained. Shower curtain was stained. Pool was cloudy. Breakfast items once they ran out wasn’t refilled. Hallways are extremely dirty. Beds were comfortable but the linens were itchy to the point that we thought there were bed bugs, thankfully there were not! A underground tunnel connects to the main building which has signs saying enter at your own risk… Lots of renovations being done but still unacceptable fora room which cost 300+ a night!

I recently stayed at the Charlottetown Inn & Conference Centre and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. While the staff was friendly and check-in was smooth, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. First and foremost, the cleanliness was a major issue. I encountered cockroaches in the room, which was extremely off-putting. The rooms and hallways didn’t feel very well maintained, and to make matters worse, construction was going on inside the building, adding to the noise and general discomfort. The breakfast was very limited – just some bagels, bread, and waffles. There were no hot food options like eggs, which is surprising for a place advertising itself as a conference centre. The one positive is the convenient location near the waterfront, but even that felt a bit misleading. The photos shown online give an impression of a more scenic surrounding than what’s actually there. Overall, this hotel is not worth the price. With better cleanliness and amenities, it could be a decent budget option, but as it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it.

We felt like we were in a smelly dungeon. We didnt have an outside facing window, it over looked the gym. I feel like every pipe in the whole hotel ran through the walls of our room. Very disappointing for the high price

Moldy and mildew everywhere…common areas and rooms. It is under a renovation but it looks like they’ve just slapped paint and flooring over it - Bleck.

This hotel sucks. its dirty, smelly and worst of all very expensive

Upon arrival no comfort was given to assure us despite the police presence it was a safe property & not a very warm welcome. The lobby and stairs were DIRTY. Elevator out of service so had to lug suitcases upstairs (extremely dirty). The halls stank of a combo of paint and mildew. Entered the "newly renovated" room to mold and water damage that was attempted to be painted over. Nice that there was no carpet, made it feel cleaner but due to the rest of buildings condition I was checking for bed bugs. No headboard which was weird. Bathroom was all flaking paint , piss stained toilet seat it was all just gross. The heating and cooling wasn't working properly - woke up to a smoking hot room (went to bed with air conditioning) in middle of night. Breakfast was mediocre but again with such a dirty building to walk through to the basement appetite was already lost. I've stayed in 3 star or lower places before but this was barely one star . Would never stay here again & it shouldn't be offered on travel sites.

The room was just fair. paint on ceiling in the bathroom was peeling. In the morning when I moved my toiletries bag, a cockroach crawled out from under it. It crawled behind the mirror. I called the front desk and they sent someone up. While this person was there, another cockroach was crawling up the wall on the outside of the bathroom. I immediately shook out all of my belongings to make sure that no cockroaches had crawled in during the night and then checked out of the room. The front desk attendant said he would let his manager know. I have a call in to the manager, but have not heard back from him as of yet.

This location is under renovations however it wasn’t noisy nor was the new stuff dirty. You could tell that the carpets are old, but they were in the process of replacing. The beds were insanely comfortable. The room was already cold when we arrived, which was amazing because it was an extremely hot day. The pool was good. The breakfast was not that good watch. A few other guests mentioned to me as we were trying to figure out what we would eat, the safest items that we all agreed upon was cereal and toast. They also had a waffle maker. However, the batter wasn’t pleasant. I have three children which two of them love waffles and they took a couple bites and wouldn’t eat the rest. Also in the dining area the staff stand and watch you and try to take over while you’re doing things.

The room was recently renovated so bathroom and floors were very clean. Old furnishings remain (bed, desks, microwave etc). Hallways under renovation (Sept 2025) quite dusty and dirty. Great location to walk downtown.

The hotel is average. In our room it was ok. Nothing special. There were some stains on the carpet, a hole in a curtain. The air conditioner was a window unit and you could not close the curtains to use the air conditioner. There are signs that say they are doing renovations but from a neighbor who stayed there a few years ago , they were doing renovations then. An average hotel.

We stayed in the unrenovated area. We had no window and no toiletries. We were beside the pool so our room always felt damp. Very darkly lit room. Nice free breakfast. Not a fan of a $200 damage deposit when we provided a credit card as well. The deposit is returned 5 working days after we left. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The jotel is well situated by the downtown. We have bookes again but this time in a renovated room with window...so we will see.

They gave us a room upgrade but the room was poorly insulated and we could hear a lot of noise from the floor above. The room was poorly maintained. Bathroom sink cracked but the rest seemed clean but not well finished. If I had known that it so badly needed an update I would not have booked there. Beds comfortable so that was a plus. Parking free in a well lit area.

They are renovating right now. Our room was great. Very clean and fresh. There was a lot of noise all night. People slamming doors until 3 am. Not sound proof at all.

For being newly renovated it was in poor condition. The walls had noticeable damage. There is a microwave and fridge. But the hotel on north side is not secure out front. Positive: laundry. Wifi was non existent and no meat in breakfast. Good water pressure.

I didn't realize the "North Building" was actually a separate building. We were in room 157 which was supposed to be an updated room but the repairs completed in the bathroom were terrible. The bathroom door wouldn't close, the railing in the tub was rusted, the toilet paper holder came off the wall each time it was used, the tile was chipped - the workmanship was terrible. It was a non smoking room but the bureau that housed the mini fridge absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke each time the door to get into the fridge was opened. It was terribly noisy and that might have been reduced if there was a door at the end of the hallway leading from the rooms to the entrance. I would have tried the pool but would have either had to cross the street or take the underground tunnel to get to it.

Outside, the hotel looked pretty good and the lobby was nice. Staff were courteous. It is currently under construction, so we were placed in a different room, but it was a free upgrade. The only thing bad I have to say is that there is a lot of noise from other rooms. I heard a fight almost break out across the hall, no idea what that is about. Very little soundproofing, and my room was attached via a door to another. It made it mildly uncomfortable to stay there knowing they could hear every word uttered. Besides that, it was a good experience. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable.

Undergoing renos so a bit rough in common areas, room was fine. WIFI was so slow it was not worth using.

Although they are in the middle of renovations they still where friendly and efficient. We had a leak in our room and buddy came right down and moved us to another room at 11 pm lol. The pool was nice and warm it was perfect. My daughter moved to PEI and this is where we will always stay when we come over. I have a room booked for March 14th I can't wait to come and relax

Place was under renovations, but nothing seemed to be happening when we were there during the week. A bit run-down, dirty, and ill-equiped for breakfast in a cold room.

We had an issue checking into another property in Charlottetown. It was nearing midnight and the clerk at the front desk gave us an amazing rate and made us feel welcome and wanted when another property had not. Great customer service!

Poor customer service I had just booked a room there last week and everything went well with the reservations, but for some reason tonight they would not book me in because I was using a debit Visa so I am wanting a refund

The room was clean and quiet. The facility was close to where we wanted to go. Nice area. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Ramp at the back entrance is not secure. My partner tried to go to the car and the ramp was not centered. When she stepped out the door she stepped on the side of the ramp and sprained her ankle and cut open her knee. Called the hotel for baind aids and icebag, they brought a first aid kit with no braid aids in it and a ziplock bag, told us to go up a floor if we wanted ice for her sprained ankle. When we went to check out we told the staff at the experience we had and as we were leaving we heard the women working laugh at us. Absolutely terrible experience with the staff. Won't be stay here again.

The location was great. It was walking distance to the downtown and waterfront areas. The condition of the room was poor. They are going through a renovation and the room we were in had not been done yet. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were very friendly and were great to talk to.

This is a very large property that is currently being renovated. Great location. We were in an older room that will benefit from updates when its turn comes. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom had all necessities except it took forever for hot water to reach our room. Staff very friendly and nice. Actually, a nice place except for the construction disruption.

Rated 4 stars because it was one of the cheapest but also even though it was outdated the hotel, it was clean ! And the most important thing , it was only 2 blocks walking distance from downtown! So not crazy expensive and good location 👍

The Charlottetown Conference Centre was perfectly suited to attending our show Anne & Gilbert, The Musical. It was centrally located and near to downtown. Clean but allot of summer/renovation work taking place. Included breakfast was good and overall this location met our needs. We would return in the future.

Location is excellent. You can walk to many restaurants in that area. Beergarden is right there and there is music every night. Love it.

The room has had some upgrading but could use more. Disappointed with the breakfast. No eggs or meat but the waffles were good.

Very mediocre breakfast. Not much for healthy options.

As said before the hotel is currently undergoing renovation which shows. At present the hotel has a bit worn look and feel. A buffet style breakfast is offered consisting mainly of toast, bagels, waffles, fruit juice, tea or coffee.This is probably typical of North American places. I wish they could see what the customer may experience in European establishments, sumptuous offerings for little extra expense.

I had paid un upgrade fee for a newly renovated room because I knew the hotel was under renovation. The room had scrapes all along the wall. It had just one USB port for charging devices and that did not work. Howver, the bed was comfortable and the room clean enough. Breakfast was totally underwhelming. Cornflakes or branflakes, very little in the way of fruit. There were waffles and toast.

The property is a nice location downtown, and grant you access to a lot of different things within walking distance. But the property itself had a lot to be desired. The plumbing is subpar, the rooms are old and at a date, the carpet is dirty, and the breakfast options were limited to muffins and waffles.

We got put up in a building across the street from the main hotel. It was old and in serious need of updates. The continental breakfast was lacking. There was nothing hot, only cold food. No eggs, sausage or bacon. A two star hotel at best.

Rooms clean and air conditioning worked well.Door at entry of Conference building needed a light. Door locked at 10 pm which was slightly inconvenient perhaps this was why no lightning provided in area. Bedding and pillows very comfortable. Enjoyed having adjoining rooms with our friends. Breakfast buffet basic continental. Staff could be better informed on food standards as I saw staff return an uneaten muffin left on counter back in to serving area on buffet.
