Comfy bed and lovely shower and room was quiet. We went for a swim but it was split into lanes and all the beds were reserved for members, even though very few being used. So had to put my towel and things on the floor. No guidance from pool reception. Had food in the evening and staff were friendly. We loved the food, good options. Overall good stay. Beautiful grounds.

It was an ok stay but niggled with small issues. The gym was being rebuilt, the sauna disnt work properly and the pool had a bizarre lane rule for periods of swimming that limited the capacity of the pool to about 5 people. The decoration in parts is dated. I would add i dont play golf so if course is fantastic that may make up for other issues.

Beautiful setting, excellent gym with everything a fitness lover could ask for. Nice hotel, clean, friendly staff currently undergoing renovations to rooms to update them but was nice enough with plenty of space. Wound definitely stay again.

Every thing was great all but not being able to have a swim, we were informed when we inquired about if we could swim ,and that we would have to book a swim and there was no availability for a swim, which was a shame as this was the only reason we booked here in the first place, looked a lovely pool

I’ve used this hotel previously without issue. This time however, standards had dropped. WiFi is terrible it was last time but they said it was unusual, most business travellers require decent WiFi. The room had the thin papers used for smoking weed remaining on the floor, the sink was blocked even when I removed the plug, and the window didn’t close properly, so much so with the high winds in the area it was noisy all night! All round experience was poor this time. Reception staff are lovely but offered nothing other than they were sorry. For a higher ended hotel like this pitches itself it lacks commitment to customer satisfaction.

This was my first stay at the property whilst at a conference in a nearby town. As it is marketed as a more of a upmarket golf/ wellness hotel (I’m not a golfer so can’t comment on these facilities), I think my expectations were a tad higher. The bathroom in the bedroom I stayed in could do with a deep clean, there was a mold in the corner of shower and limescale in the toilet bowl. Breakfast was top notch and serving staff excellent. Gym is very well equipped for a hotel and access to the pool facilities was a nice bonus. Reception staff were lovely too.

The staff were lovely and fabulous food through out our stay, however, our room and bathroom was very, very tired and let the accommodation down along with a broken air conditioner unit made the stay quite uncomfortable. Also the spa area could have done with a good clean and the water available on poolside was empty for our entire spa experience so not checked regularly.

I shall only give a few as only have 1461 characters left. Staff were unhelpful, laxking in any customer service and sometimes plain rude. Rooms very extremely basic. Spa only available for one 2hr slot per day - so do not expect a spa weekend away - no robes in rooms to get to spa either. The restaurant is very lovely and the staff there were extremely helpful, menu was limiting, so staff gave the option to select a meal from the sports bar menu. Food was very good. We had mould in our shower (i was able.to wipe it away so it was mould stains). When we eventually worked out where our room was (as i say staff had no customer service at reception) it was reasonably clean - i picked up the artificial petals that had, i suspect, ordained the bed for valentines and placed them in the bin. Bed was comfortable and was remade for our second night, towels were also replenished for the second night. Rooms are very dated and the TV only offered a few channels (there is nothing else to do all day as you only get 2hrs in spa and we dont play golf!) Would be a good place to sleep if you play golf all day and dont mind lack of customer service. Also still waiting for manager to contact me as per suggestion of receptionist on departure. Very disappointed and quite frankly annoyed that ive just spent £500 on very unrelaxing 2 nights away

My experience at this hotel was disappointing. I chose it for one specific reason: the pool and spa, so I could enjoy some time with my 3-year-old son. But when we went to the area, we were told that children are not allowed. This crucial restriction, which should be clearly stated at the time of booking, completely undermined the purpose of our stay. The rooms are basic and dated. The mattress was so soft it affected the quality of sleep, and the overall condition of the accommodation feels worn out. Breakfast was another letdown: they didn’t even have bread — something simple, inexpensive, and essential in any decent buffet. The only positive point is the staff. They were polite, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, that alone doesn’t make up for the rest. Overall, I don’t recommend this hotel and I won’t be returning.

The only issue i had was my tv was not working very well and kept glitching but I did tell the hotel staff and they offered a free drink and did offer to move me if I wanted to Food was lovely and breakfast there was much food to choose from and the grounds were lovely and everyone was very friendly

I have stayed at the Stoke by nayland hotel many times before the pandemic and was always impressed by the standard of hotel accommodation, facilities and the warm customer service that is provided by staff. This weekend I spent 1 night at the hotel with my husband. The staff were wonderful and really went above and beyond to look after us. The food in the bar was fantastic and really reasonable prices and the spa was great. Unfortunately the room we were in 319 was not great and really let down the experience. It was tired and dated, we booked a double bed and received 2 singles pushed together with no topper so you had a massive join in the middle. The mattress was old, stained and uncomfortable so I had to request a duvet from house keeping to lay over mattress to improve comfort. I would give this hotel 4 stars but room really let it down.

Despite falling ill and needing to go to hospital the hotel were friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Food was nice, rooms were nice and the red was 10/10. From the reception staff- the chefs were all so accommodating of my allergies and I felt so comfortable, even though I missed 24hr due to being in hospital. Even missing breakfast the next morning by 30 minutes , I asked and there was no problems what so ever in getting breakfast ordered and room service for my partner.. that’s amazing..

The hotel was nice but a little tired in places. Elizabeth on reception was absoltuely amazing, really went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and to cater to our requests. Food in the restaurant was good but unfortunately not very hot, we all had to send it back. Staff were very apologetic and sorted it out so all ok in thw end

i am a blue badge holder - the facilities for parking were poor as directors and committee have priority. the young waitress at dinner table was disinterested, she was ignorant of words such as teetotal, carbohydrates, diabetic. Room 101 - the bed is located far too close to the window and curtain, making it virtually impossible to move past the bed without touching and therefore opening the curtain. My wife was extremely pleased with the massage.
i am a blue badge holder - the facilities for parking were poor as directors and committee have priority. the young waitress at dinner table was disinterested, she was ignorant of words such as teetotal, carbohydrates, diabetic. Room 101 - the bed is located far too close to the window and curtain, making it virtually impossible to move past the bed without touching and therefore opening the curtain. My wife was extremely pleased with the massage.

I shall only give a few as only have 1461 characters left. Staff were unhelpful, laxking in any customer service and sometimes plain rude. Rooms very extremely basic. Spa only available for one 2hr slot per day - so do not expect a spa weekend away - no robes in rooms to get to spa either. The restaurant is very lovely and the staff there were extremely helpful, menu was limiting, so staff gave the option to select a meal from the sports bar menu. Food was very good. We had mould in our shower (i was able.to wipe it away so it was mould stains). When we eventually worked out where our room was (as i say staff had no customer service at reception) it was reasonably clean - i picked up the artificial petals that had, i suspect, ordained the bed for valentines and placed them in the bin. Bed was comfortable and was remade for our second night, towels were also replenished for the second night. Rooms are very dated and the TV only offered a few channels (there is nothing else to do all day as you only get 2hrs in spa and we dont play golf!) Would be a good place to sleep if you play golf all day and dont mind lack of customer service. Also still waiting for manager to contact me as per suggestion of receptionist on departure. Very disappointed and quite frankly annoyed that ive just spent £500 on very unrelaxing 2 nights away

Comfy bed and lovely shower and room was quiet. We went for a swim but it was split into lanes and all the beds were reserved for members, even though very few being used. So had to put my towel and things on the floor. No guidance from pool reception. Had food in the evening and staff were friendly. We loved the food, good options. Overall good stay. Beautiful grounds.

We started our stay with a spa day which was excellent!! At check in we was informed that we’d been upgraded free of charge which was lovely!! The room was lovely over looking the golf course! We ate at the sports bar which was nice and very reasonably priced! Breakfast was included and I have to say it’s one of the best we’ve had!! All staff very friendly, looking forward to a return visit 😊

Definitely a place to remember and unwind after a busy time of work, whether that be holding which we hadn’t tried or enjoying a very nice view while having a drink to enjoying a relaxing time in their swimming pool. The food was spot on, affordable to the time we spend there. Definitely will return in the near future for another well needed time away from work.

Beautiful setting, excellent gym with everything a fitness lover could ask for. Nice hotel, clean, friendly staff currently undergoing renovations to rooms to update them but was nice enough with plenty of space. Wound definitely stay again.

Despite falling ill and needing to go to hospital the hotel were friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Food was nice, rooms were nice and the red was 10/10. From the reception staff- the chefs were all so accommodating of my allergies and I felt so comfortable, even though I missed 24hr due to being in hospital. Even missing breakfast the next morning by 30 minutes , I asked and there was no problems what so ever in getting breakfast ordered and room service for my partner.. that’s amazing..

The hotel was nice but a little tired in places. Elizabeth on reception was absoltuely amazing, really went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and to cater to our requests. Food in the restaurant was good but unfortunately not very hot, we all had to send it back. Staff were very apologetic and sorted it out so all ok in thw end

The only issue i had was my tv was not working very well and kept glitching but I did tell the hotel staff and they offered a free drink and did offer to move me if I wanted to Food was lovely and breakfast there was much food to choose from and the grounds were lovely and everyone was very friendly

I have stayed at the Stoke by nayland hotel many times before the pandemic and was always impressed by the standard of hotel accommodation, facilities and the warm customer service that is provided by staff. This weekend I spent 1 night at the hotel with my husband. The staff were wonderful and really went above and beyond to look after us. The food in the bar was fantastic and really reasonable prices and the spa was great. Unfortunately the room we were in 319 was not great and really let down the experience. It was tired and dated, we booked a double bed and received 2 singles pushed together with no topper so you had a massive join in the middle. The mattress was old, stained and uncomfortable so I had to request a duvet from house keeping to lay over mattress to improve comfort. I would give this hotel 4 stars but room really let it down.

The breakfast and the spa are both positive points. However, the hotel rooms and function rooms are very dated. Most of the staff are lovely but 1 member of staff in the sports bar was particularly rude. Couldn’t get any tables in the restaurants in the evening. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel.
