We loved the room and being close to the many restaurants in town. Although we understand that the actual dining room was under repair, we hoped that there would be a welcoming and comfortable bar area where we could lounge and enjoy the fireplace. Unfortunately this was not possible as the bar had to be converted to dining area because of the construction.

We stayed for one night Feb 2025 mainly to visit the Franz Josef glacier. Room was comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities. Parking was easy. Restaurants, coffee shops and supermarket within walking distance but the village itself it quite small.

The hotel is centrally located in the Franz Josef area, with the main services and some attractions within walking distance. The hotel is older and does need a renovation with parts of the rooms need repair eg broken door locks. Cleaning was an issue during my stay with used cigarettes on the balcony and hairbands on the floor from a previous guest. Food quality from their buffet restaurant can also be significantly improved, especially since there are a few good places to eat within a 2 minute walk. Overall, this is a convenient place to stay for an overnight transit through Franz Josef.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed it’s. Stains on carpet, on sheets and bedspreads, bathrooms were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been scrubbed in months. The entire building smells like and barn and NO air conditioning made it so much worse. It was such a sickning smell we literally left and did not even ask for a refund. We would have paid NOT to stay in this MOTEL (not hotel, looks nothing like pictures). If you don’t have another option, either camp out or sleep in your car! Either is better than this motel.

For me, the amenities and cleanliness are about a basic 3-star level. The carpet had damp spots and wasn’t vacuumed thoroughly, and the comforter had some yellow stains. I’d recommend checking your room before settling in. On the positive side, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Unbelievably outdated rooms with a strong mildew smell. Bathroom was close to that of an outhouse with shower that was barely usable. I cannot recommend staying somewhere else in the area more.

Manager on duty made check in unnecessarily difficult and was vague and generally not helpful. Wait staff in restaurant were very friendly and although somewhat inexperienced, their effort was great. Hotel is very expensive for what is at most a 3 1/2 star hotel and not good value

We only stayed in this hotel 1 night. We used the dinning facilities. which overall not bad. Other than that it was placed for sight seeing. we did a helicopter tour. the hotel was placed perfectly for this as meeting place was directly opposite hotel.

Thr hotel itself was nice and located right in the center of the town. Parking was supposedly sufficient but pretty limited as there were a lot of parked cars. What we considered quite disappointing was that there was no open restaurant in the hotel at 20:45 however it was half board service... Nevertheless we got a lunch package für the next day instead...

Great facilities but restaurant very poor and overpriced. We had considered the 5 course option but thankfully didn't our one dinner there was very poor with extremely dry overcooked chicken. We ate elsewhere for remaining nights as a result.

Location was convenient, plenty of parking and room was comfortable but unfortunately poor housekeeping (no attempt to clean our room during our two night stay) and poor choice of dinning options for a hotel (just an expensive and average quality buffet the only option) let it down. Hotel seems to be focused on bus tour operators as opposed to independent travelers.
