The property itself was great, and the importance of having somewhere affordable yet not squalid near the rail station can't be emphasized enough. I can see that the area inside the rail station is under construction, but it was strange that there weren't more places to go after 8pm to have a meal, and by meal I don't mean Burger King. To compensate, the food got started early in the morning, which was nice, the bed was comfortable in the view was wonderful period I would absolutely stay there again. I wish I had known that there was a Europcar pick up point located right underneath the hotel, though the hotel's parking deal is not with the garage underneath it but a different one nearby. Parking was somewhat expensive and tricky, as you would expect right at a rail station. The area wasn't lovely, but I've seen sketchier rail stations. It would be so nice to be able to take the elevator down and come out right on the platform!

The hotel does not have parking - which is not clear on the hotels.com webpage! There is the Hauptbahnhof underground parking 50m from the hotel, however if you have valuable items in the car you will need to take to your hotel room to avoid theft. Long hairs of previous guest found in shower. Directly above train station, so expect noise - even on 8th floor. Uncomfortable beds.

Zimmer war sehr schön, die Betten sind sehr bequem. Das Bad könnte mal wieder renoviert werden. Keine tägliche Zimmerreinigung, dies sieht man besonders an den Wasserflecken in der Dusche. Trotz der Lage direkt am Bahnhof und an einer großen Straße ist es im Zimmer sehr ruhig. Das Frühstück ist ok aber nichts besonderes.

Hotel in ottima posizione affianco alla stazione ferroviaria e a 500 metro dal centro. Camera discreta, ma la pulizia lascia a desiderare. In due notti non hanno fatto la pulizia della camera e si devono chiedere i teli la notte prima per averli.

The room was just big enough and average. Hairs at the door of the shower. The expensive breakfast is not really extensive, but ok. Staff is friendly and supportive. The breakfast is served in a cramped space in the hotel lobby near the elevators, with people walking through and waiting all the time.

The location is ultra-convenient if you’re traveling by train. However, I’d advise you avoid the hotel between mid-May and mid-October, because the guest rooms are as hot as Hades. You can’t open the windows because of the train station & traffic noise. There is some sort of AC, but it’s not effective at all. On the plus side, the overly hot guest rooms are a bit like a free sauna.

Gute zentrale Lage direkt am Hauptbahnhof. Jedoch war es daher abends draußen ziemlich laut. Zimmer völlig solide und sehr nettes Personal.

One of the best InterCity Hotels! The rooms are much more spacious than in some of the newer InterCity Hotels. This hotel looks just as up to date as the first time I stayed there 30 years ago.

In der rezeption freundlich Aber problem ist 2 mal auf meine türe gekloppt ich habe gesagt och gehe check out bald ich gehe check out bald nach eine stunde nochmal gekloppt putzfrau hast mich in meine zimmer rausgeschmiessen wegen wasser leitung 11:20 habe noch zeit mehr zu bleiben putz frau hat gesagt ich muss meine zimmer raus. Das finde ich nicht nett kann mal auch sagen wenn da wasser leitung nicht zu benutzen nicht so das ich wie eine dreck behandeln von putzfrau das ist erste mal bei mir passiert..nach dem 2 jahr ich komme im freiburg und meine erstemal bei intercity hotel und ich bin misshandeln von putzfrau

The hotel is close to the train station, which is convenient. Everyone at the hotel desk was helpful, cheerful, and competent. They made check-in and check-out easy and fun. I was thinking this would not be such a great place but it turned out to be one of favorite hotels on this trip because it was so close to the train station, very clean, and quiet and the staff was kind.

Arrived at noon and left bags and gave my name . Told to come back after 3 which was expected. We came back around 8pm and were given room keys for a room that already had guest's bags and belongings. The desk agent bizarrely asked " who was in there?". She gave us another room without acknowledging an error or being pleasant...it all seemed to be our fault. This presents a security risk and while I'm sure it's not a frequent occurrence,hotel management may wish to review check in for room 104 on Oct 23. We could have cleaned out those guests belongings if we were different people. We did ask for extra pillows from housekeeping but we're told they had none. Room was clean and bes comfortable but the check in process was something I have never seen on 45 years of travel.

We arrived about one hour before checkin and were told checkin was at 3pm. I waited I. The lobby while my husband went to return our car rental. While waiting several others came in and seemed to also be waiting. They were then checked in but no one told me that our room was ready also. It wasn’t until I saw the cleaners leaving at 3:15pm that I asked if my room was ready and was told that it was. The lady asked my name as if she didn’t know that I had been waiting for more than an hour for my room.

The hotel couldn't be more conveniently placed for train and trams.A neat and tidy hotel (like Ibis,if you're familiar with this brand).A short walk from the centre of the very pretty city of Freiburg.I'd be happy to stay here again and am happy to recommend.

The Intercity Freiburg is located right at the train station making it exceptionally convenient for anyone travelling by train. It is also a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Freiburg. If you wish to go somewhere else all public transit goes through this station. We loved the hotel and it’s location is unbeatable. Would definitely recommend.

The room was just big enough and average. Hairs at the door of the shower. The expensive breakfast is not really extensive, but ok. Staff is friendly and supportive. The breakfast is served in a cramped space in the hotel lobby near the elevators, with people walking through and waiting all the time.

I visited Freiburg to explore the Altstadt (Old Town). This hotel’s location was exceptional. It was right next door to the main train station where I arrived on a train from Stuttgart via Karlsruhe. It was great to take a cool shower and relax in the air-conditioned hotel room after I arrived. I spent that evening and the next morning exploring the beautiful Altstadt that was a block away from the hotel. The buffet breakfast in the morning had everything I needed. The dining room was very clean and comfortable.

At the price of 200€/night you should not lie about the fact that the hotel has a non-working airconditioning. Offering a free breakfast as compensatition when i already payed breakfast doesn't really provide any sleep in the heat. Please remove the claim you have ac from your website and other sites. Tried three rooms, all broken ac.

Conveniently located hotel right next door to the main station. Rooms were fine if a bit tired. No kettles in the rooms but hot water available in reception so you could make a drink.
