Ankom på 2 motorsykler. Hadde da lov til å kjøre inn i Gent uten tillatelse, men vanskelig å komme seg frem til hotellet pga alle enveiskjørte og stengte gater. Hotellet har noen få parkeringsplasser. Hotellet hadde perfekt beliggenhet i forhold til alle severdighetene. Mange restauranter i nærheten.

Historic hotel in a great area of Gent. Well worth staying at but care if travelling by car as it is located in a reduced vehicle zone and the cost of overnight car parking is creeping up.

Parking is a challenge but we knew this prior to our arrival. Hotel staff did a great job communicating with us prior to our arrival. The area around the hotel is shutdown to vehicle traffic mid to late July due to 10 day music festival (fun time - great energy). AC unit was not working properly but windows open - not a big concern. Bed extremely comfortable. Room was clean - nicely done. Would stay again.

The hotel is beautiful and in a wonderful location. I had hoped to get a parking spot at the hotel. I wasn't aware that the spots are limited and you have to reserve a spot. With all of the one way streets, it is very frustrating to get to the parking garages. But the young lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Ghent is an amazing place!

Locatie van het hotel was goed. Heel centraal voor de bezienswaardigheden en pleintjes van Gent. Ruime tweepersoonskamer. Helaas was er een vreemde lucht (leek op riolering/schimmel) aanwezig in de badkamer en ‘s nachts hadden we veel overlast van de buitenomgeving (gepraat en geschreeuw van langslopende mensen).

Kamer zou al voor aanvangtijd gereed zijn. Bleek nog niet schoongemaakt te zijn. Na een klein uur was deze wel schoongemaakt. Maar schoon was het niet. Wil liever geen details noemen maar de haren in het beddengoed waren niet van ons en de douche was ook niet schoon. Er zou airco zijn, maar onze kamer had dat niet. Ligging van het hotel is erg goed. Parkeren bij het hotel bleek niet mogelijk, en je kan niet reserveren. Flinke wandeling met je koffers.

Das Beste ist die Lage. Der Preis ist für den Zustand deutlich zu teuer ( mein Empfinden). Es war sehr dreckig, renovierungsbedürftig. Im Badezimmer wurde nur mal über lose Farbe oder Schimmel gestrichen. Die Fugen waren tlw. ohne Fugmasse und Flisen gerissen. Duschkabine könnte man sich sparen, Boden war nach dem duschen klatschnass. Ecken sind nicht gründlich gereinigt gewesen. Im Zimmer waren an den Wänden sehr viele Flecken, die nicht von den letzten 2 Wochen waren. Das Frühstück ist einfallslos und war nicht reichhaltig. Einen Tag gab es Tomaten, dafür den nächsten dann den Mozzarella. Frisches Obst bestand aus einen Korb Apfel und einen mit Birnen. Die Parksituation ist katastrophal. Es wird kein Parkplatz im Vorfeld reserviert. Zufahrt und Parkplatz sind nur was für Fiat 126 z.B. Das sollte erstmal reichen. Kann sich jeder selbst ein Bild machen. Mein Kopfkino reicht mir hier.

Lovely property, nicely decorated. Clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. We had a standard quadruple room. Plenty of room, nice clean bathroom. Good breakfast choice, loved the pastries and the fruit was very nice. Near to the castle. Was very happy.

Mooi hotel, kamer was op zich netjes, maar alleen wij zaten letterlijk en figuurlijk 3 hoog achter. Piepklein kamertje met in het midden een grote houten balk. Je moest oppassen waar je liep, want anders stootte je je aan de balk. Qua omgeving, want we zaten midden in het stadje een dikke 10! De kamer echter een 2 😖….

Excellent location, very clean, modern bathroom, great service from the female receptionist. Very noisy street outside room 55 but we are not light sleepers so that didn’t bother us but worth asking if you are not able to sleep with noise.

The location of this hotel is amazing! We had a very spacious room and bathroom so rrally happy with that. However as its an old building there was no air con! I did ask for a fan and thankfully they had one so this got us through. Our room was facing the busy street so if we were to book again i would request a room not facing this street.

Ok so there are two different buildings for this hotel and you will have totally different experiences depending on if you are in the from historic building with elegant rooms and facing the castle or if you have to go all the way to the back to that scary ugly building that in no way feels like you are in Brugge. Good luck we where first put in back and I went to desk and asked and they put us in main building with gorgeous room and perfect view of castle from our window.

First time in my hotel experience I've got downgraded room, and when I pointed out to it, staff reaction was weird - first, they totally agreed with me that it was standard room instead of executive room, which was clearly mentioned in the reservation, second - they didn't have any power to settle it, just brought list of exuses, didn't even suggested any compensation and told me to send an email to hotel's management. Besides, the service desk was very reluctant to respond to simple requests like to change towels etc. The room - altghoug it was a 'standard' room in building annexe attic - didn't have even heat thermostat , and you have to use wall heaters regulators instead - turning them on and off every few hours, along with having depressing furniture and cheap quality beds and matresses. The only advantage of this property is its location - it's literally located 2 min walk from beatiful Gravensteen castle, but other then that it looks like dated and overpriced hotel with tired stuff.

We chose this hotel as it said they had parking. They sent us an email to say call them before you enter the pedestrian zone to check if parking was available. We phoned twice and the phone just rang and rang and then cut off. We had to park in the public parking about 5 minutes walk away and carry our bags. When we tried to check in there was no-one on reception. We waited then phoned and heard the phone ring behind the desk but no-one came. Then eventually someone appeared. And their parking had plenty of space which was very annoying, probably as no-one can reach them by phone. They never asked us if we wanted breakfast or at what time so we ate out. I think they are very short staffed. The only place to plug in the kettle in the room is to put it on the floor. The hotel looks impressive from outside but is a bit disappointing inside.

At first we were put in a cupboard labelled room 11 which I didn't realise was above the smoking area until we went to bed. It stank. I am asthmatic and could not breathe. Above us were the party 'couple' who were literally up all night banging. I begged to be moved and was told no rooms left. I checked with a booking website and could book a room - a clean room, not smelly and no banging couple. After I begged and cried the member of staff finally relented and gave us a suite (room 44). It was stunning. Book that if you want a treat. It rescued our weekend away. The hotel is lovely as long as you get a good room. Breakfast was fabulous and the position is perfect - right in front of the castle. You need to book high up if you want to be away from the street noise and have a view.

Is a very nice hotel. Definitely an older one but is well kept up. The location was fabulous. It’s diagonal to the Gravensteen castle. Very short, walk to canals and all the eatery places as well as tourist attractions. Check in staff were extremely helpful.

The hotel was easily accessible by tram from the train station and very close to plenty of bars and places to eat, and a supermarket. The main square and the canal were also a quick walk away. I would recommend this hotel.

Laat ik met het positieve beginnen. De locatie van het hotel is top, middenin het centrum en alles op loopafstand. Het personeel is vriendelijk. Wij hebben de auto bij parking Ramen gezet, dat was goedkoper (€14 per dag) en makkelijker aan te rijden. Op 5 minuten lopen van het hotel. We hadden eerst een kamer in het oude gedeelte met prachtig uitzicht, maar de kamer was verouderd en zonder airco. Geen bad, kleine badkamer en we werden om 6:30 uur gewekt door de werkzaamheden buiten. Vanwege het weer (rond 27 graden) hebben we een andere kamer gevraagd met airco, dit was gelukkig mogelijk. De tweede kamer had een airco maar een vreselijk slecht bed en was ook verouderd. Het ontbijt vind ik geen aanrader, weinig vers en voor dat geld zou ik lekker buiten de deur ontbijten. De sauna en fitness kunnen ze beter verwijderen, dat was een lachertje onder in de kelder.

I had a long stay. It was lovely! It’s a beautiful hotel and the staff was able to rise to any challenge. It’s in the perfect location across from the castle and abundant shopping, dining, drinking, museum, church, tower and canal tours and amazing chocolate. The breakfast was excellent and had many options.

The hotel was located a short walk from the castle on a pretty cobbled street with shops and restaurants typical of Ghent. The bed was really comfortable, the room spacious and the bathroom well appointed with a good shower. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and a good continental breakfast was provided.
