Bay of Palms

A musical event at a local venue. Clean, well appointed, close to the committed show. More coffee packs and milk containers would have been nice. Aside from that good parking, a comfortable nights rest.

Great location near waterway canals. TV in room needs updating to smart tv. TV was quite small. We stayed in upstairs unit but for those finding steps difficult should ask for ground floor. The bed was comfortable. Only a small bar fridge in our room. The freezer section was completely full of ice and fridge badly needed defrosting. Overall our 2 night stay was good. Nice swimming pool at location for those that stay in warmer months.

Nice and quiet. Good proximity to shops. Nice pool area and easy parking. Friendly staff. Property in need of some maintenance but was clean. Good option for a budget conscious family.

Decent for the price paid before Easter. Will come back again. Spa so warm and inviting. Gorgeous scenery, just Don't feed one chip or anything to birds or fish as it ruins the serenity and chance of catching fish.

When we arrived to check in, someone was parked in the spot allocated to us. When we questioned this, we were told just to park next to them, which was a residents only park. The TV had no signal so we couldn’t watch anything. We tried to hook up the wifi a number of times to watch Netflix and the wifi information wouldn’t work. They left the tiniest tube of shower gel and shampoo for two people for two nights. I used it up in my first shower. They also supplied 1 tiny cake of soap. Went to go and see reception to ask about wifi and for some more shower gel but it was closed. On a positive, it is close to the local shopping centre which is just a small walk across the road. The pool looked very inviting as well.

Complex looks a little titred but facilities were good. Lovely pool area.

Great oceanview from my room, spa & pool was a perfect way to cool off, shops right next door, receptionist was friendly, easy check in & out process and overall a delightful experience <3

No indication on website that building is 2 story with no lift. Am partially disabled so can't use stairs very well and wasn't aware until arrival. Get a text to collect key on arrival from a locked box at reception (4 pm in the arvo). Below our room were picnic tables where a group of 5 loud middle aged guys were drinking heavily and smoking, even though there is no smoking on the property apart from the designated area away from the buildings. We got hold of the caretaker to request a room change, who walked right by the group on his way to our room and never said anything. There were no other rooms available and were told by the caretaker about not being able to traverse the stairs he said - oh well, you will just have to stay up here for the night and not go out. Which we did and had to put up with the 5 boisterous and inebriated men who had the 2 rooms beside us. One of which came to our room at 9 the next morning still drunk and with a can in his hand, knocked on the door and when opened said to my partner - what did you say? My partner said, what do you want? Reply was - I thought you were talking to me. We packed our stuff and went to reception to say we were finding alternative accommodation. No apology no offer of assistance and they still charged for the extra night.

Loved our lake view but the grounds are in need of some care. I’m sure the lovely new managers will look after this but they have a big job on their hands. Would definitely stay there again

We loved the location of this hotel. The pool was a big favorite and it was lovely looking out of our room onto the pool.

The unit was very clean and tidy.Plenty of hot water and the bed was comfortable.

The paradise scene was set as we drove into the ‘Bay of Palms “resort”’ carpark to be greeted by a shopping trolley partially in front of our car park spot and next to a rusted-out hatchback with flat tyres and patinated grime. We wheeled our suitcases along a buckled path past some discarded items and a range of old outdoor items. Upon ascending, we noticed the resort didn't get round to installing yellow hazard signs for the rusted-out iron framework exposed by eroded concrete. Having survived the climb from treading lightly, we were greeted with an aroma of ‘eau de ashtrays’ emanating from first apartment. As we reached our apartment we noticed the splendid views over the lake. Opening the loose and rickety “security” sliding door of our apartment revealed a basic but clean kitchen and living space. Sure, there were stains on the couch, and dining chairs were less inviting than a park bench, but it was tolerable to understand that we weren’t at Sofitel. Bedroom was simple and clean, until the small cockroach revealed itself. The high point was savoured for the bathroom, but we couldn’t decide. Would it be the mint green hue chrome toilet holder developed from coarse oxidisation? Would it be the plastic toilet cistern that is now browning and peeling after serving many years of its labour-intensive service? Could it be the poor shower screen fliction of deeply ingrained brown stains near the base. We think the ‘piece de resistance’ was the hole punched

We stayed 3 nights, The first night the power went off in adjoining unit, the power box was in our room so they had to come in to our room to get at the power box. There was a locked door between the two rooms that allowed light to shine into our room from the other room at night, plus it was noisy.The room itself was unclean. The bathroom vanity was water damaged and tiles missing. At night cochroaches and out from wall and under vanity and tan around the floor. The kitchen bench also had cockroaches on it when we came home at night. We got 1 set of towels for 3 nights didn’t see any staff to request more, The bed was uncomfortable and found bug in bed on last day. The water view was nice and outsides were ok definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Very dilapidated and dirty property. TV did not work and appropriate number of linens and towel were not provided for the third guest booked .

Lovely property on the water with a beautiful view. Our room was an adjoining one and we could hear the people staying in the next room through the adjoining door which was a little annoying. Room had been cleaned but had hair and cobwebs on the floor in the bedroom near the bedside table.

The rooms were clean, spacious, quiet, modern and well appointed with essentials. Sheets were fresh & clean, A/c was cool, shower was hot & strong, parking was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning soon.

It's a great place to stay. The location is fantastic: near the mall, near the bus stop, near the beach. And the pool was really nice also, the beds were comfortable, we really enjoyed it. The only negative was the tiny cockroaches we found every day in our room.

Could hear every word and noise from next door unit .. person next door chain smoked and coughed most of the night so we got very little sleep . toaster and kettle had to be plugged into power point about 6 inches under air conditioner .. no shampoo or conditioner .. satchet to wash one lot of dishes only Would not recommend 🙁

Listed on both the website, and wotif, We were meant to have a queen size bed. On check-in, I was notified that because of the room size, that this particular room had a double bed. There was no need to have this much furniture in such a small space. For example, the chest of drawers at the end of the bed were are not needed as there is plenty of storage in the cupboard, the buffet next to the chest of drawers aren’t needed either, the TV could’ve easily been mounted to the wall. With these two lots of oversize drawers taken out of the room, would’ve made a practical space f a queen size bed to fit into the room. Notorious double bed, was so uncomfortable that the only place to be is in the closest tip. The feet of the bed was higher than the bed head, the mattress sagged in the middle, and it led to the right hand side. Why only saving grace; what’s the stuff for nice enough to make up the fold out lounge for my son. The walls are ridiculously, paperthin. Whoever was in the room above us, stomped around like there was an elephant in the room, multiple times during the night. None of the adjoining apartments have soft close hinges on any drawers or cupboards, and that was also a downfall. My favourite was hearing the person upstairs going to the bathroom at 4 am in the morning. The lights in the common area are that bright, it pieces through the Blockout blinds, on the top of the blinds and also either side, surely there could be a better way to light a common area.

This property has owners of individual units. Furnishings depends on the owner. This unit did not have black out shades and the drapes were holey. This place needs an upgrade.

Main bed very comfortable. Trundle beds for teenagers very uncomfortable. Springs were damaged- like sleeping on a hammock. Good air conditioning, perfect for a few nights. Not enough cutlery for 4 people- missing a fork, no chopping board. Close to shops. Great walk around the lake.

TV was limited could probably do with a bathroom update

Overall decent place to sleep for a couple of nights. Beds are comfy, shower is hot and good water pressure. Walls in adjoining rooms very thin and can hear everything.

The air con was great and it was located very close to the "The Pines" shopping centre - No need to drive.

Conveniently close to shopping and dining, our unit was quiet though unfortunately upstairs which was not so good for us as an older couple. In fairness i had not asked for ground floor when booking. The kitchen area was well equipped though stove quite old and frig freezer full of ice. The bed was very comfortable

Clean, quiet and easy to reach and make changes to reservations. Polite and efficient front desk.

Reception staff very friendly and full of good information on things to see and places to go all over the Gold Coast. The premises were clean, tidy, and quieter than expected. We will certainly stay here again!

Make sure that you check prior the bedding configuration, our booking was for a deluxe suite should’ve been a sofa double bed and a double bed, I had to make do with sleeping on the couch which luckily was so comfortable but what if it had been 4 adults as the booking was supposed to be. Overnight onsite manager is unhelpful and arrogant,So beware if you need help after hours - lovely lady at the desk. All in all beautiful spot, quiet, and clean

The web sight said they have office hours until 5. Their office hours close at 4:00 . If you ring after 4 no one answers and you get put through to an after hours service . We rang many time and hung on for ages but got no answer. . We knew we would be late ; unable to contact the resort or the after hours service we arrived to find we had to ring the same after hours service we had been ringing for an hour. Very frustrating. We tried to contact wotiff for help but only got an automated service . We eventually after an hour and a half got through to the after hours searvice

Close to airport, easy walk to beach and handy shops next door!

Lovely stay at a resort style accommodation. Room was furnished nicely. Next to shopping centre and transport.

It was easy walking distance from car to unit. It was a 2 min walk to the local shopping centre. I found the decor to be on trend and restful. I have previously stayed here at Bay of Palms.

Great location for me on my stay, shops with everything right next door. Lake side room was great with a beautiful view.
