Flonk Hotel Groningen Zuid, BW Signature Collection

We chose this hotel as we were travelling with our baby and the amenities such as the pool and free parking were attractive. The hotel is also within walking distance of a bus into town and runs a shuttle service at the weekend. Unfortunately our room was disappointing. The AC system is extremely dated and we ended up having to keep the curtains closed with the windows open in our room to keep the room at a safe temperature for our baby. Upon arrival we had to report a few issues to reception, including mould in the in room coffee machine, which were dealt with within 36 hours with varying degrees of friendliness. We had dinner and breakfast within the hotel and were happy with these. The reception area and restaurant/bar have been finished to a high standard and this is hopefully a sign of things to come in the rest of the hotel.

Awesome location with fantastic indoor swimming pool

I have asked for a cancellation of trip due a customer cancellation of the job in Groningen but I haven’t received any feedback from the hotel, it was enough also a simple “not possible “

Beautiful location and a shuttle is available to and from the hotel to downtown. They have a very nice sized pool too. Food was unfortunately not to my liking.

The welcome on arrival was both warm and helpful and during our stay any questions we had were handled helpfully and professionally. The standard room was clean and comfortable and the limited space well used. Next time I will probably book a comfort room. We did not eat at the hotel other than lunch for which there was a menu with plenty of choice. Parking was easy and plentiful. The hotel is situated in a park area where there are lots of opportunities for walking and cycling. The hotel is some distance from the centre and there is an excellent bus service within a short walk and discounted tickets available from reception.
