Grand Hotel Beau Rivage Interlaken

For starters, we had a good stay at the hotel. Like others mention, it's in an extremely convenient location as you can go right to the train platforms from the side entrance to the station in just a minute or two. The staff are great, the breakfast is amazing, and the room itself was good. The service is above and beyond and I can only say great things about everything and everyone we interacted with. Some critical feedback, on the lack of AC. It's true that Switzerland makes it difficult to impossible to add AC to historic buildings. However, at least during our stay, the lack of AC made things tricky as it was so hot (80F) that we had to open the windows. Normally this would be just fine, but most of them were set up to only open a few inches, I assume for safety reasons. Then the problem was that the hotel is right by the train tracks so every 20 to 30 minutes you'd hear the screeching sound of a train going by. All in all for a hotel of this caliber, the lack of AC or even good air circulation was tough. I don't doubt that it would be extremely difficult to add AC to this gorgeous building so hopefully it's not an issue for most people, but it would be important to know ahead of time. We were so tired every day from our hiking that we slept just fine. The saving grace was the fan that was in the closet!

Great property, great location, everything was perfect. I wish they had AC in the rooms. We went in summer. But they had a bedside fan which helps.

Large lovely old fashioned hotel. Great staff and ambience. Close to all amenities. Would highly recommend. They also had a really nice indoor pool which we used every day.

Nice hotel with a 5 minute walk to train station. Beautiful view of river. Only downside was no air conditioner however they provided a fan which helped a little. Spa and pool were an added bonus.

A wonderful location not far from the train station- which we prioritized for ease of travel with an infant. Had a baby cot ready- with toiletries, robe, and tiny slippers for our kiddo! The staff was above and beyond helpful. A great pool! The views were spectacular. Delicious expansive breakfast.

Beautiful property. Very well kept. Sauna was a great addition in evenings. Free car service to station. Great location. Wonderful breakfast with so many options

Nice location, and beautiful building, but needs updating and feels very dated. Also, watch out if you are staying during a heat wave as they dont have air conditioning. They tried to compensate by putting fans in the room, but if yoh are used to a cool room this hotel wont work for you.

Great hotel so close to station and Harder Kulm. Great shopping/restaurants nearby and outstanding staff. Taking one star out for not having AC though they provided table fans (but maybe very common in hotels in this area).

Overall, it’s pretty good, but the lack of air conditioning was a problem. Yesterday was so hot that we couldn’t sleep.

Das Hotel hat leider seine besten Zeiten lange hinter sich. Vom Standard her entspricht es einem 3-Sterne Hotel im besten Fall. Dies ist offenbar auch der Grund, warum man auf Nachfrage vor einiger Zeit die Sterne-Klassifizierung abgeschafft hat. Was jedoch grenzwertig ist, dass eine 5-Sterne Klasse suggeriert wird (hier und da abgebildet). Das Interieur ist als absolut spartanisch zu beschreiben und leider lieblos dem Verfall preisgegeben. Waschbecken, wo der Abfluss nicht mehr funktioniert und vor sich hinrosten, verdreckte Bereiche überall im Bad und vieles mehr. Das Personal ist noch halbwegs bemüht, aber all das kann leider nicht den Gesamteindruck heben. Dieses Hotel bedarf einer grundlegenden Komplettsanierung oder aber einer klaren Neu-Kategorisierung, dann aber bitte auch mit entsprechenden deutlich reduzierten Zimmerpreisen, die dann einer solchen Klassifizierung auch gerecht werden.

We booked two rooms for my family. Spent $2000 a night for two rooms. We walked in with stains on the carpets, on the chairs and just dirty. We can deal with worn or run down furniture but NOT dirty. The front desk apologized and they did nothing except to move me to another room which we did and it was also dirty and completely run down. A 4 star hotel should be clean, great customer service and a place you are happy to be sleeping for the night. I definitely don’t recommend them unless they renovate.

Clean and spacious room

This hotel is gorgeous! Super clean and bright! Breakfast is free and offers so many choices at the buffet or thrill make you an omelet or French toast. Coffee is yummy. They also have a room with a bar , and also a room dedicated as a cigar room! The hotel is super close to the train station, maybe a 5 minute walk. Close to the center of town and easily walkable. We felt safe at night. The staff is very helpful and the hotel was quiet and well maintained. The room got warm even though we turned the heat off and opened the door. But it wasn’t unmanageable. We were there when it was cooler so we liked having a balcony to get that fresh air. I’d recommend and stay here again without any hesitation.

The location was perfect as we could easily walk from the train station. The view from our room was gorgeous. Rooms was clean and spacious. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great.

Frühstück ausgezeichnet, Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles sauber. Lage gut. Schwimmbad sehr sauber und gut. Zimmer leider sehr in die Jahre gekommen und renovierungsbedürftig.

Beautiful hotel, but rooms arent equipped for modern tech. That is plugs not where you want them etc

Também adoramos que todos os dias tinha chocolates e bebidas no frigobar sendo repostas gratuitamente. Mas o que mais nos chamou à atenção foi a cordialidade dos funcionários (de todos os setores) e a gentileza/atenção que tiveram com nosso filho (4 anos), sempre tentando agradá-lo em tudo.

The view is amazing. Location is great. Room is relatively small but overall it worth the price.

This is an elegant, period building, the rooms are large and spacious. We had room 308 on the front of the hotel which gave us a balcony with a Mountain View. Because it is an old building, it does not have aircon. It was hot while we were there, but we were able to sleep with the windows open and the fan on; there is a road at the front of the hotel, but iit is very quiet and nothing happens after 10.30! We had B@B but lunch and evening meals are available. The breakfast buffet is excellent - including sparkling wine!The hotel staff are very helpful and everyone speaks excellent English. The housekeeping is excellent. We stayed for 7 nights; the sheets and robes were changed three times while we were there. The mini-bar contents are included in the cost and are replenished every day - I enjoyed the half bottle of Prosecco every evening after a day in the mountains. The hotel is 5 minutes walking from Interlaken Ost train station and boat station so getting around is very easy. I would recommend getting the Swiss Trail Pass as it gives free travel on trains, boats and buses, and discounts on some of the mountain routes.

The hotel look great from outside. But within the hotel everything was ancient. Physical key to lock and unlock doors. I can hear people talking below the room and hear footsteps from people living above me. Felt it could be better for the price paid.

This hotel was just a couple of blocks walking distance from the train station, which is one of the reasons I chose it. It was super easy to do our daily excursions with being so close to the train station. We stayed in a family suite.It was quite spacious and had every amenity we needed. I loved how the rooms had all of the toiletries included.So we didn't have to call down to the front desk.If we forgot anything. Our room was overlooking the mountain and the river next to the hotel which was great although the double doors to the balcony were through the bathroom, which was a little odd. The breakfast each day had many wonderful items to choose from including asian food which we love. I also loved the selection of teas that were available. There is a fabulous italian restaurant in town called Sapori, you will not be disappointed if you eat there! They have awesome Woodfired pizzas, as well as great pastas.

WOW! This is really the only place to stay in Interlaken. The property is beautiful inside and out! The picture does not do it justice. Be taken back to a time of opulence and service. The free breakfast buffet is delicious and extensive. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Both the lady at the front desk and the concierge went out of their way to help my husband and I. The concierge even walked outside to the edge of the property to show us exactly where to walk to go to the boat tour! Best concierge ever! Our balcony overlooked the main street and was so fun to sip hot chocolate on while watching the town go by. The mini bar is free also. I cannot recommend this property highly enough!

Amazing stay! The view was absolutely beautiful and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Felt really welcoming and relaxing the whole time. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

I would rate this hotel a ZERO if there was a potion. Absolutely Terrible property and terrible staff. We had VIP access to the hotel since we are Expedia Gold members but the staff at check-in did not honor that and denied to give us the perks which we were entitled to get. The front desk staff were rude! The hotel room had broken windows ( literally falling apart) The room has really ancient wooden bars which were dusty/rusty and really gross. One of the splinter from the wooden bar went inside my 3 year old hands and we had to extract it out. When we requested for a room change due to safety concerns to our child, we were told by the front desk staff that the child will not touch the wooden bars again since SHE MIGHT HAVE LEARNT HER LESSON!!! And denied our request. The bathroom is small and the shower is terrible. Everytime you shower, the water falls out of the bathtub and the entire bathroom is is filled with a water puddle. The restaurant was not always open for dinner. They boast themselves as 5-star properly but in reality the rooms and service is negative ZERO STARS! Also the hotel does not have Air-conditioning. Absolutely the WORST HOTEL we ever stayed in our experience. The hotel price does not do any justice to the services offered!

Top notch, elegant hotel with excellent staff

Great staff very helpful. They upgraded our room upon arrival which I don’t believe ever requesting. There were nice perks included like tooth brush toothpaste, and several other bathroom supplies. Several drinks were included, and chocolate was included. Beds were clean and comfy, room was clean. Staff was great in helping make accommodations for taxi ride to the train station. Breakfast was mediocre, but there are great restaurants just a short walk away.

Hermoso hotel por fuera, por dentro muy bonito también, algo rústico pero muy muy hermoso al estilo de 1900. El servicio espectacular y la atención igual. Muy recomendado. La ubicación es de lo mejor ya que está a 4 minutos de la estación de Interlaken Ost en caso de que quieras viajar rumbo a la región de Jungfrau.

Perfect location near train station. Beautiful hotel!

Our stay at the Grand Beau Rivage was incredible. The staff was wonderful, breakfast was excellent, and the location cannot be beat. Walking distance to the train station allowed us to easily explore the Jungfrau region with young children. Walking to the Harder Kulm funicular was a treat as well and overlooking the Aare River was breathtaking. Only "con" was the lack of air conditioning as we were there during a heat wave, but I'd gladly do it again for the opportunity to stay there. Open windows and fans made it manageable, but the experience overall was fantastic. Thank you to the staff!

Clean, good breakfast and grear location

An excellent hotel right next to Interlaken Ost station. I stayed here with my family for two nights in June 2024. The mesmerising view of snow-clad mountains from the room will be remembered forever. Strongly recommend

This hotel is very close to Interlaken Ost train station and Harder Bahn. It also overlooks the river. However, the hotel looks fancy online but in reality it’s a bit dated. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. But the restaurant for dinner wasn’t very tasty, despite good service. The shower was over a bath, vs walk-in, which we didn’t realize so check before you book. The room had a balcony which was delightful and offered fantastic views.
