This hotel is so quaint! Really want to come back in the summer. Loved that each room had its own name. Was sad the pool and restaurant were closed for the season. I appreciated that they put out muffin's in the morning.

The South Thompson Inn has a quiet country charm that makes for a peaceful stay. We especially enjoyed the outdoor pool — a nice way to cool down at the end of a warm day. Its close proximity to the golf course was a major plus. While we were disappointed by the extra charge for the in-room fridge, the on-site restaurant served good food. Overall, a relaxing and convenient spot, especially for golfers.

The setting on the river in a rural area is beautiful! Very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed being able to walk next door to the golf course. The golf course restaurant has good food options also. Enjoyed the pool (although it could use more cleaning - lots of leaves/bugs floating). The exterior of the buildings could use some TLC - fresh paint, etc. The staff were all extremely friendly and I would definitely return.

A very beautiful place to stay. The grounds surrounding the Inn are so uniquely large and secluded. River front with lots of greenery. The staff were top notch in every way! Free to use pedal bikes to tour around, and next door to the golf course.

This is a nice hotel and conference centre but it’s way off the beaten track. It takes half a hour to get there from downtown. Otherwise, the rooms were nice and individually named, the room was clean and fresh, the linens and pillows were great, the bed was good, and the bathroom was clean. We had a balcony with a great view, and we had an opportunity to have food in the restaurant and it was tasty. The only thing I didn’t like about the hotel was that the front stairs really need to be redone. There are a recipe for disaster and given the senior the average senior age of the customers, they really should consider that a priority.

We had a great check in. The employee was kind and helpful. I'm sure many years ago this boutique hotel was beautiful, but now it seems unkept and overgrown. The pool and hottub were both very dirty, hottub was unusable it was full of hair and bugs. Maybe understaffed? The hotel itself(apart from the room) felt old, dark and stuffy. The room was clean and bright, it didn't really match the rest of the hotel. Cobblestone pathway up front probably used to be nice, but now is a tripping hazard. Overgrown weeds and shrubs really take away from the properties charm. Overall it wasn't inherently bad, just needs some help. The staff was very friendly but we wouldn't stay here again.

The property is in dire need of a refurbishment. The hallway carpets were very worn and stained. The pillows on bed were 4 squares, never seen pillows like that in my life. Paying over $400 a night for a 2 star hotel 25 minutes from town is outrageous.

Be sure to ask for the door code to get back into building as they lock main doors at night. It took me over 5 min to get hold of night attendant to get back inside between 11pm - 12am. No secure wifi network. It's open and instead of prompting for a password, a message comes up saying not secure and all you send is open for others to see. Barely a 3 star accommodation yet they charge as they are 4 star. Just awful - so overpriced & nothing of value. Extremely disgusting greasy streaks and dirt on the sliding door window. Could barely see out it. Hair in ice bucket. No water station in lobby. Run down and simply ugly. Photos on website are not realistic

The location is lovely, in the country on the river with a view of hills on one side and the river on the other. And a golf course beside it. It's a quiet location. Trains and the highway are across the river, but really not noisy. Be aware that it's a 30 minute drive to Kamloops and there are zero stores or other amenities closer. The smaller road on the north side of the river takes a minute or two longer than using the highway, but it's a lovely drive. The hotel itself is older and it shows a bit. For the price, you may get a nicer room with more amenities in town, but you're paying for the quiet location here. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck outside our room both in the morning and evening. But there were a few downsides as well: - the air conditioner was a wall unit that was fairly noisy - the walls are thin and we had enough noise from other rooms at night (TV, coughing, talking) that we turned the AC back on to drown it out - the curtain doesn't keep the light out very much - the bed was passable, but with a couple hollows - the $14.95 breakfast didn't sound appealing so we skipped it. - the restaurant has limited hours and didn't appeal either - my wife went to use the pool but didn't go in because of floating leaves and bugs - there is no fridge in the room, although I think you can get one for $10/night Overall we enjoyed our stay, but felt the price was a bit steep for what we got. That said, other good hotels in town were even more expensive.

We had a room overlooking the Thompson River and the balcony gave us great view of the sunsetting over Kamloops. Golf course and horse paddocks around us. We found it to be very quiet. The staff was friendly and the hotel had quaint ol' cruiser pedal bikes to ride around the property. Its an older, out of the way, hotel that has been updated...but the biggest problem for us was that the restaurant on site is only open in the evening for a few hours and the nearest other restaurant is a 10 min drive away. So even though the rooms have keurig coffee machines, there was no place to get cream for the coffee. And there was no fridge in the room either. :( We had hoped to have a leisurely morning but hangriness set in and we packed up and left earlier than planned. Since we paid a higher price for our room, I had hoped for better ammenities....

A very rustic but beautiful property that was the highlight of our trip. Wish we could have stayed another night. The rooms are all tastefully decorated. Definitely a change from your normal run of the mill hotel room. Loved the verandah seating outside our room with a view of the property and mountains. Our kids enjoyed visiting the very friendly horses on the property and feeding them apples off the trees! You can walk to Rivershore Golf Course right next door.

Unsafe, Poorly Managed, and Disappointing for the Price I stayed at the South Thompson Inn and Conference Centre while travelling for work and had a very upsetting experience. One evening, before 8 p.m., I returned to find the main door locked. No one had told me I needed a code to get back in, and the code was printed in tiny text on the corner of the envelope that held my room key — something easy to miss. I was left outside alone in the dark and cold with no car, repeatedly calling every number provided. I called the emergency line around 15 times, plus the manager, property manager, housekeeping, and even the chef. No one answered. I left multiple messages. I was scared and completely unsupported, in the cold and dark. Eventually, someone called me later that night to see if I got inside. Management only refunded half a night and didn't even check in with me the next day — which doesn’t come close to compensating for the stress or safety concern. For the price point and isolation of the location, this is unacceptable. Other issues included: No real breakfast (just a granola bar or fruit cup) despite being far from any stores or restaurants. No feminine hygiene products available in the public washrooms. Outdated rooms with shared balconies that lack privacy. If I hadn’t had a coworker there to help, I would have been stranded. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their communication, emergency procedures, and guest safety protocols.

My review is mixed for our stay at the property. We were locked out of our room after the front desk staff had left for the evening. The emergency number did not work. We ended up having to drive back to town to find another hotel for the night with our luggage still locked in our room. The morning staff member was amazing though and because of how we were treated by her, we would consider another stay. The grounds and our room were beautiful, it was unfortunate we couldn’t get into our room. Front staff were amazing and we will give another stay in the future a try.

The staff was super helpful. We had a flat tire and they not only made us an appointment to get our tire repaired, but they pumped up for flat tire. They were very kind to our dogs.

We only stayed one night as a stop off, but all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Especially Corey behind the bar. Room was very clean and very comfortable, quaint but perfectly adequate for our needs. Location was ideal for what we needed and was quiet, again, what we needed would recommend to anyone as a stop over on the way to/from the Rockies.

Very nice location next to golf course. Didn’t eat at restaurant other than coffee & granola bar in the morning. About 15-20 minutes east of Kamloops, drove into Kamloops for supper & breakfast (heading North in morning so made sense). Room 11 had some type of noise start up before midnight, enough that the couple had to change rooms. We were next door in room 13 & didn’t hear anything of substance. Never did find out what it was. Staff was accommodating & helpful in the room change & a discount on room was provided.

This is a nice hotel and conference centre but it’s way off the beaten track. It takes half a hour to get there from downtown. Otherwise, the rooms were nice and individually named, the room was clean and fresh, the linens and pillows were great, the bed was good, and the bathroom was clean. We had a balcony with a great view, and we had an opportunity to have food in the restaurant and it was tasty. The only thing I didn’t like about the hotel was that the front stairs really need to be redone. There are a recipe for disaster and given the senior the average senior age of the customers, they really should consider that a priority.

The setting on the river in a rural area is beautiful! Very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed being able to walk next door to the golf course. The golf course restaurant has good food options also. Enjoyed the pool (although it could use more cleaning - lots of leaves/bugs floating). The exterior of the buildings could use some TLC - fresh paint, etc. The staff were all extremely friendly and I would definitely return.

We stayed here overnight in Kamloops on our drive from Banff to Vancouver. Pleasantly surprised that the hotel is on a ranch. Our room faces the river and very tranquil. Hotel has a nice restaurant for dinner. It is about 20 minutes drive to Kamloops downtown for more dining options, . We ate at Brownstone downtown and was very happy.

Was in town for work, perfect place to relax for the night before getting back to work the next day. Clean, quiet, friendly staff. The only downside was the very limited breakfast which was explained to us so not a surprise and only temporary. Will stay again next time I’m working in that area.

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. It was a beautiful property. The hot tub was not working but was being fixed. The restaurant was really good. Best wings and cheesecake. Would have been nice if they did breakfast. Staff was really good. Will be back.

I absolutely adored this cozy inn! The property is both beautiful & peaceful! We had a balcony looking out over the river & mountains. The room was nicely decorated & the beds comfy! The only disappointment was the Sunday continental breakfast we paid $15 for. It was basically what you get for free at a Hampton Inn, except you couldn’t find the cheese in the pre-made omelets & my muffin was stale. Definitely stay here - just eat breakfast somewhere else.

We loved our stay at the South Thompson Inn. the staff were friendly, the room clean and comfortable. The restaurant was not so good, the food was overcooked and bland which was such a shame for a hotel that was great in every other way.
