I was looking to stay at the El Dorado but was booked with Manteo. It was a little run down. The was minimal parking and it cost $15 / day. Now despite this cost the parking was not guaranteed and the first night there was a wedding and no parking anywhere.

We had a great 7 night stay at Manteo in July. The room was very clean, spacious, and the staff extremely professional and helpful. The pool areas, private beach, and grounds are beautiful. We ate twice at Maestro's (the on-site restaurant) and it was very good. Our only note is that the property needs a refresh and some upgrading. The hallways, particularly the carpets, are stained and in poor shape. The fitness facility has old equipment which should be replaced. This would truly bring the resort to five stars.

Beautiful view of the lake, nice pools indoor and out. Great for the kids. Was disappointed the board walk was being worked on and couldn't go on it, and the outdoor hot tubs not open. Other than that it was perfect for our family stay.

We splurged on this hotel and were disappointed. The hallway was in complete shambles with numerous men working just outside our room. It was noisy and strange. The pool was great but it was impossible to find towels. We were also disappointed that the entire boardwalk was closed off. Not worth the price tag.

Nice resort style property on Lake Okanagan. Booked for a last minute one night stay in Kelowna. Clean rooms with friendly staff & free parking. Not very walkable outside of hotel grounds, but there are a number of restaurants/ places to grab a drink on the property. Nice boardwalk along the water.

Loved the location, loved the facilities (especially the adults only pool, great workout room, and little beach), great sized room with fantastic view, comfy bed. My only complaint is that housekeeping is a little lax. However, if you need anything (towels, glasses etc.) just leave them a message and they'll bring it up to your room.

The view was spectacular Overlooking the lake. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was really good. The hotel itself needs some updating. The carpets are really badly stained, the elevator is quite slow and there is only one elevator and many guests. The key cards failed often. We had to update on a daily basis if not more, which was very frustrating. We were on the fourth floor waiting for the elevator to have our key card recoded. There was many additional charges such as daily parking and resort fees. Food on site was quite expensive and because of the cost felt that the food should've been a better quality. An example is nachos for two people is $35 and if you wanted to add a little bit of chicken or hamburger, it was an additional $15. All around a lot more expensive than we had anticipated but again the views were great.

The "good": The relatively "quiet" location & proximity to Kelowna General Hospital is a plus. The lobby area, grounds, and pools are well kept. The not-so-good: The Resort fee PLUS parking fee are ridiculous for a small Resort that is pretending to be a large resort in Hawaii or Vegas. Paying a blanket daily fee (plus taxes) for things that should be "pay-per-use", such as a half-hour wine tasting, Yoga, dance lessons, morning run, 1 hour kayak use is an insult to those of us that will NEVER use these. Pools & spa tubs should be included in the room rate, and then pay-to-park? How the heck are we supposed to get there? Just include parking in the room rate then. Nickel & diming for everything just drove me away from this "resort" for good. The carpets in the public hallways were completely stained & torn, baseboards are beat up (as they are in the room), air vents are filthy, the deck off the room was dirty with leaves, dirty furniture & cobwebs overhead. Not good for a "wanna-be big city resort"...

Hotel was in great location, and we had a beautiful lake view. The hotel is a little dated and the carpets were really dirty. Room still had garbage in it when we checked in and hadn't been vacuumed. Service was good.

So this is just an average place. Based on my experience for the nights we stayed. The staff were amazing and they were very helpful. Great work by them. The property… meh. Going up in the elevator you are greeted on the 2nd or 3rd floor with the most disgusting carpet, stained and full of trash. The room was clean but the rest of the place needs some updating. I think the carpet needs to be pulled up and burnt.

I have stayed at Manteo in the past - it was previously a premium property. Unfortunately it hasn’t been well maintained. The carpets in the hallways were very dirty and significantly stained. The room was clean, but the furniture and decor were old and tired. A beautiful property if the investment was made to clean it up and update it.

Parking lot was safe. Pool was closed. Rooms need to b deep cleaned. Sat down in the bath tub and got grossed out. Instead of having a nice hot long relaxing soak in the tub. I had a quick shower that was depressing. Soap scum in the tile grout. Some blak gunk under the shower controlls. And the tub spout is dripping water on the back side. Im a plumber and in my opinion. Its prolly soaked in the wall and a good possibility of black mold. I slept like crap cause something in the room was congesting me. Maybe mold? I dont no. Woke up with puffy eyes and a plugged nose. Nice place tho. Just being honest

I got the lake view room with balcony, the view was amazing. I wake up every morning looking at the mountain and lake and the pier, so mesmerizing. The room was so big, it feels nice and spacious. The only thing I didn’t like about the room was the bathroom. It was very small and tight. The sink being out of the bathroom was good. It’s just me, I don’t like small bathroom. Other than that, everything was great!

We booked a one bedroom lake view suite. The view was great! The kitchen and bathrooms were decent but the carpet and furniture was very old. The room needs a renovation. Our king bed was very comfortable but the pull out couch for our teenagers was terrible! It felt like you were laying on cardboard and springs. They could not sleep. We complained and the manager when he came back from his days off upgraded us for our remaining nights to a newly renovated 2 bedroom beach front townhouse. It was amazing! As well we were compensated by removing our resort fee and parking. We were very happy with the customer service!

I really enjoyed the surroundings of the location — it’s beautiful and relaxing, which made our stay pleasant. However, the building itself feels old and could really use an upgrade. For the price point of around $500/night, I was expecting a more modern and refreshed room. The ordinary rooms especially don’t quite match the cost. Overall, great location but the accommodations need improvement to reflect the value of what guests are paying.

Bed was comfortable its a beautiful location on the water? The units are run down in need of upgrade they were not stocked to pay this type of money per night to get a kitchen facility with no frying pan, can-opener, spatula to even turn an egg. The unit was not very clean, floors had not been washed, washrooms and not been cleaned wifi service sucks. Staff don't care.

Very disappointing. Nice and clean place. But we were situated above the restaurant where events take place and was so loud. The walls were shaking past midnight. Paid a lot of money for a lake view room only to have to keep our curtains closed. Really unfortunate because it has potential

Our stay was good, but not as comfortable as my previous stays with you. The odd thing was our bathroom sink was in the room, separate from the bathroom. there were 2 of us in the room, one having to leave very early and the other one who was waiting until check out. Made for a very noisy morning for one of us!

Staff at front desk were horrible, paid no attention. Took 40 mins for them to grab a item i left in the room , then when it did come to the front desk they didnt even tell me , i had to go to the front desk and grab it off a side desk . It was like teenagers were running the hotel.

Ben from the Eldorado was exceptional. His attentiveness and service every morning was a delight. Manteo does not have decafe complimentary coffee. Ben got my husband a decafe complimentary coffee every morning at the Eldorado. Pool side service was top notch. Would absolutely stay here again. Regards, Jodie Moser

Indoor pool was under construction which we didn't know when booking. Outdoor kind of cold to go into pool. Otherwise overall experience was good.... beautiful view of lake and mountains. They arranged nice surprise cake for my mom's birthday, which was nice. Thanks

The front desk staff were exceptionally nice. They helped with an early check in and helpful information. The property though… it’s a bit tired and dated. You can see it has been well maintained but is in need of updating. To be honest as well maintained as it is I personally found it to be a little over priced for the glaring late 90’s/early 2000’s feel compared to other Kelowna resorts of a similar age. The bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Our evening visit to the pool had beer cans and beer bottles, dirty plates and towels at multiple lounge chairs. Staff did visit to close the gate but no one seemed interested in the mess. Pool was a nice temperature and so was the hot tub.

The resort is stunning and our stay was fabulous! We highly recommend booking a whisky tasting! Staff at the Whisky Room were fantastic! Resort bar staff were great! Texting room service was so easy.The grounds, adult pool and private beach were all top notch! However, there are some areas that the staff need more training in to make this a better experience for future guests. Check in was awkward! Quiet, no eye contact, no details about amenities, reservations, times things were open and closed, what we could do on the property. No details on luggage carts, where the elevator was. It was so strange. Via google, we discovered that the cabanas by the adults only pool are available for rent. We tried to book the night before, but front desk said they didn't know how and that we needed to call back at 7:30am. Yikes! We headed to the totally empty adult pool area at 11am to set up in a cabana and order bar service. Eventually, hotel staff came out asking us to move as the cabana is for rent. We said we are trying to rent it as we didn’t see a reserved sign. The staff didn't know how to rent to us or the costs. In the end, it was $149 for the cabana, soft drinks, cheese and broken crackers while another group used it for free. This process was just very inconsistent and a bad look on the resort. The option is great, but staff should up sell them and know what they are talking about. I guess no one ever rents them. Get there later in the day to enjoy them for free I guess!

The staff were helpful and friendly throughout Manteo. The service and food in Maestro's was excellent. Lovely views of the lake from our room and balcony and also the restaurant patio. The room was clean. The bathroom was small and dated but the room itself was spacious with plenty of storage.
