It is quiet and well-maintained, right near the train station, the Lancaster Castle, and lots of downtown shops and restaurants. The food is tasty. There are a lot of steps into and out of the hotel spaces (and no lift). If you're up for that exercise, it is a charming place to stay.

The room was freezing cold and no matter what they trid to do with heating it would not warm up the room, I ended up buying a portalble electric heater. What wasnt mentioned about the hotel was you had to climb 6 flights of stairs to your room(no lifts available) and with us both having mobility issues it was really hard work

Impressed by the overall service offered by the Sun. We had good rest in the room and enjoyed excellent atmosphere and food at the pub, both at dinner and breakfast. The staff offered us the opportunity to park next to the hotel free of charge in a spot that was temporary available for the night. Would recommend to visit when in Lancaster

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and beds were comfortable. The location was great, a short walk from the train station and close to the Castle. The restaurant and bar downstairs were great!

Loved this quaint old building, with excellent bar & dining, right in the vibrant heart of Lancaster. It's within walking distance of trains, buses and tourist attrations like Lancaster Castle and the excellent City Museum.

Absolutely fabulous hotel and bar. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and cheerful. The room (superior double) was spacious, modern and spotless. Bathroom was lovely, with big walk-in shower (no bath). Breakfast was very good. The bar was a bonus, lots of local beers and open until 1am of a weekend - we didn't hear any noise from our room. We used Cable St. for Parking - a 4 minute walk, £14 for 24 hours -

We were greeted on arrival by a very welcoming young lady who checked us in and showed us to our room. Room was spotless and beautifully decorated. Stayed to eat some lunch, service was friendly and efficient. After a wander round Lancaster, back to our room for showers and a change. Bathroom was clean, toiletries to hand and enough towels for the two of us. We had a quick drink before heading off for our evening meal, the bar was busy but didn’t have to wait very long. On checkout the following morning, we were asked how our stay was and wished well. Couldn’t have asked for anything more, we felt welcome and enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely old building. Found the pub area quite smelly on arrival late afternoon, which was a bit disconcerting. However, the room and accommodation area was good. We did have breakfast in the pub the next morning and it had all been freshly cleaned and smelt fine. The general area around the pub was pretty run down, with a lot of buildings uncared for and empty.

Overall experience good but they need to remove the emergency light in room 12 which is to bright, staff tried to cover up but it fell off. this disturbed our sleep for the night

We stayed for one night in the Suite to attend the wedding. We really appreciated being able to check in early and the room was lovely. The coffee machine and pods were great for an early morning coffee before breakfast and although the hotel was on the Main Street we didn’t notice too much noise for a Saturday night at all. Would definitely recommend.

The staff member who accepted our luggage early before the 3pm check-in was very helpful, on our return when the room was ready she had upgraded our room which was a great touch and unexpected. I'm sure we will stay again.

I had the do not disturb on the door.... and the lady came to come in...... luckily i was awake and i think she realised... She did apologise to me later to be fair. Room was ready early which is always a bonus

Warm and cosy double room, 7 min walk from the railway station and restaurants in close walking distance. Good location for the town centre, museums and castle. Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend.

Loved this hotel! It is in the historic area of Lancaster and so everything is easy walking distance. The room had a lot of character and was roomy and comfortable! The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was so soft! The restaurant was excellent - both our dinner and breakfast were delicious! This was my favourite hotel (and location) on our 2 week UK visit!

Beautiful room above the bar. Quiet even though bar was busy. exceptional vegan breakfast in the morning. The best I've eaten in any hotel or restaurant.
