Terrible elevators - great hotel! I was living in Lethbridge when the Lodge as it used to be called was built. Even then the elevators were tiny and after Sandman updated all the rooms the elevators remain the same. It’s understandable given what replacing them would entail. The hotel is ideally located, the staff friendly and the courtyard with its trees and pool are wonderful. It’s easily the nicest hotel in Lethbridge.

Unfortunately, the pool and hot tub were under going maintenance with no mention at booking and no offer of a discount or voucher elsewhere. The rooms are so comfy! Wish there was an exhaust fan in the bathroom as well as a locking door. The sliding pocket door to the bathroom allows a lot of light through. Not thrilled with the rain shower head, which it was an addition to option with a regular showerhead.

Definitely a step up from the Coast hotel in Lethbridge. I love the atrium area and pool. The hot tub is in desperate need of a renovation. The jets barely work and the tile is falling off everywhere. The room overall was very nice, but the sheers on the window have stains and there was toothpaste splattered in the bathroom. The bed was OK, but I wouldn't want to sleep on it for multiple nights. It felt like a cheap mattress. Overall, great service and I was fortunate to have a room overlooking the beautiful pool area. Listening to the water feature while I worked in my room was wonderful. I would return for a single night stay. The restaurant was also excellent.

The rooms were very clean and extra bedding was provided in the closet. 2 complimentary robes were also provided to use during our stay (with option to purchase). These were great for going to and from the pool. The pool temperature was quite cold and I think that’s where the hotel really fell short, I think upgrades could certainly happen for both the pool and hot tub. The hot tub jets didn’t do much and you could tell it was very dated (the pool also) because of discoloration and it just looked grimey. The atmosphere with the tropical vibes in the main area were enjoyable. We would stay here again but.. I strongly suggest pool & hot tub upgrades should be in order for this establishment

The pool was down for unscheduled maintenance - we were told it would be for one day. It was our entire stay - Friday - Sunday - and there were no signs of anyone working on the pool. There was some sort of event that had multiple families staying at the hotel. Which is great however, the children were running through the hallways and stairwells liked they owned the place. The staff had no control over them and their parents were no where to be seen looking after there kids. there were a group of parents sitting in the common area yelling at their kids who were running along the 2nd and 3rd floor balcony hallways. It was the worst stay I have ever had in a hotel. You could hear the kids running through the hallways from inside our room.

I booked this hotel because of the swimming pool. The pool was closed for maintenance for a week on the night of my stay. I wasn’t properly informed prior to my stay otherwise I would have picked a different hotel with a working pool. Hotel itself was pretty nice and cozy. Staff was friendly.

The cleaning was poorly done - surfaces not wiped with recent beverage stains on desk top, coffee table, etc. The toilet was out of service and apparently had had continuous maintenance calls from prior guests. The bedroom headboard was dirty as well. Housekeeping returned and did a quick clean, but with little attention to detail. The next door room was available within the designated ‘Expedia’ booked rooms, and I was moved with assistance from a very helpful housekeeping/maintenance employee, but it wasn’t much better although the toilet was operable. This is a landmark hotel that I’d really like to rate well - I’ve stayed here many times over the past twenty years and have always had stellar service from staff - but it’s clearly wearing out and deserves an investment and greater TLC from the owners - it could (and should) be a flagship property for this operator. I hope my next visit will show marked improvement!

Room was dirty. Asked for them to clean it and they didn't. Sheets smelled like they were not washed, tobacoo pouch and chips beside the bed, bathroom dirty. Very disappointed.

The room was not cleaned properly. There were crumbs all over the floor, crumbs and sticky spots in the dresser drawers, someone’s dirty shirt on the desk chair and used fake eyelashes stuck on the faucet in the shower.

Our room was next to the elevator and could hear it everytime someone used it. We also had a sock in the corner of the room, which made me concerned for what else what missed when the room was cleaned. The lobby was lovely but the room wasn’t great.

The room was not the cleanest. I had to give the hot tub a quick clean before using. The couch had a stain on it. The overall condition of the room was ok but you can definitely see the wear and tear setting in. The hot tub jets were way too powerful and it just shot water all over the room including the bed.

The rooms were clean, the door didn't necessarily ensure you felt safe as it did not close properly in the frame, and you had to fight with it. The pool area was dirty, and the pool itself was freezing cold water, and you could see tons of debris on the bottom and around the edges. I wouldn't swim not knowing what exactly was waiting to slice body parts open. The staff were not friendly or inviting, rather gave the impression they were very put out by your presence. Spoke with other guests who felt the same, wondering what they had done to earn such disaproval from the front desk staff.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, however the wifi was horrible and the TV's are low quality and outdated which made it feel less like a sandman experience. Some refinishing could be done within the building as well. Overall though, felt comfortable and the staff were great

I’ve stayed here many times and it never fails to impress. It’s by far our favourite place to stay when we come to town. The staff are always super helpful and pleasant to deal with and the rooms are spotless. I was lucky enough to get a room with a balcony overlooking the atrium/ pool area and it was very nice. Getting to sit on the couch accompanied by the sounds of splashing water and fountains after a 12 hour drive is always welcome. The Italian Table is also one of my favourite restaurants to visit in Lethbridge so it’s super convenient that they were right downstairs! The only issue (minor) we had was with the elevator, close to the front desk. It kind-of seemed to do its own thing and would repeatedly stop on random floors or take a very long time for the door to open. Not a huge deal obviously but kind-of annoying when you’ve got a trolly full of suitcases and have to shut the door again on every floor. Thank you again for a fantastic stay, I will definitely be staying here again!

We had a lovely stay. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful, the atrium space with the pool was beautiful and the room was nice and updated and clean. My only complaint would be the frosted glass sliding bathroom door. Please put a real door on the bathroom!! If anyone needed to use the washroom in the night, the light would fill the entire room and it also didn’t feel very private.

A/C unit decided to act up with huge noise at 1am. They offered another room but were too tired to move. Maintenance man quick to respond but didn’t have parts. As the temperature in the room was ok we decided to stay and not turn on the a/c.

Anton is amazing! We had a few minor situations with check-in the room that we had, and the first night we stayed over however, when I chatted with Anton, the front desk manager, he was absolutely incredible. He took care of us and was extremely professional.. what a great ambassador you have for the Sandman signature hotel! He is the reason we will be coming back again!!

What a wonderful hotel! The guys at the front desk were so kind- especially Vincent. He even stopped what he was doing to take our family photo for us. The pool area was very relaxing and clean. There were multiple weddings going on in the hotel yet none of it kept us up at night. No loud noise complaints. The only negative thing would be that the air conditioning on the rooms are very noisy. We ate at the Italian restaurant and it was very good. Food and service were excellent

Very nice atrium and super friendly & accommodating staff. Our room was nice and spacious, but could have needed a little more love. The breakfast in the atrium sounded so great, but what we got was a microwaved burrito and breakfast sandwich- which was about $25. For that quality-not fresh and not an actual full breakfast, I think it should be free. But overall great stay and cool pool/hot tub.

A good stay overall. This hotel is getting a but dated but a good effort to keep things comfortable for guests. Parking was an issue and the walk from rear parking lot to front desk was very long. Food at the Italian restaurant on site was excellent and the breakfast in the courtyard was very good with excellent service. I will stay here again.

Hotel is what you would expect for a Sandman property. Hotel appears to be a 1970’s Holiday Inn when they built a majority of their hotels with an atrium around a pool. Breakfast is provided by a third party caterer and is not worth the cost; limited options and everything was most likely microwaved.
