This hotel is full of history! Many celebrities have stayed here, and the antique decor makes you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. This is a unique historic building that has been well maintained but is showing some age. The furniture and fixtures look original, which we appreciated, but others may not. Multiple tours visit the lobby each day due to the buildings historic nature. It’s located within 7 min walk to Plaza Mayor. They were copious amounts of hot water which we didn’t find everywhere in Peru and it was great to take a full shower in warmth. Breakfast was “American” and filling, including eggs, fresh juice and breads. Recommend to those looking for a unique experience. Warning: Pisco Sours from the bar are the real deal and potent! ;)

I liked the retro nature of the facility - high ceilings and spacious rooms, not your ordinary tourist type of hotel - the hallways were long and empty which gave off a haunted house vibe - the food and bar drinks were exceptional - there was plenty to see within walking distance - an experience worth remembering

Its central location and historical significance to Peru was nice. As such itd be wonderful to see the rooms modernized for comfort. It was just too cold and bed very uncomfortable. The staff was very hospitable. For our group of 7, the dining at their restaurant was the highlight. Also, we noticed their bar with its upstairs balcony was a popular destination for locals.

Het hotel ziet er aan de buitenkant als zeer luxe uit, iedereen loopt in mooie pakken en je wordt prima ontvangen. Tot je op de kamer komt , de badkamer was ronduit zeer slecht onderhouden, verkalkte kranen , een vies geel bad, scheuren in de vloer en gaten in de deur. Wij vonden de kamer zeer teleurstellend. Als je na een lange vlucht aankomt en je wilt een lekker koud biertje bestellen hebben ze dat niet, je moet aan de dure cocktails. Het hotel is vergane glorie.

This is a 100-year-old hotel and it shows. Windows don't close all the way, the place has an old smell to it and it throws off a creepy vibe (it freaked out my adult kids). It is located across the street from a very busy and noisy plaza. Our room faced a plaza and we could hear the music and protestors clear as day. Because of the noise, we switched rooms, and my family was split to both sides of the hotel. However we could still hear the noise in the plaza like our windows were open, but they weren't. There was music, shouting, and fireworks until 5 am and none of us (5) slept well. We tried to sleep with earplugs. The kicker is my wife saw a 2-inch cockroach run across the floor that I had to kill! This is a historic and quaint hotel that is in desperate need of updating. We would not stay there again.

Staff courteous and nice Old historic building falling in disrepair. Rug old weary, not clean. Smell old building which it can be fixed easily with so many new odor dispersing tech. Room 334 bathroom broken faucets, old “ baby toilet”, rusty areas, dirty curtain shower, windows broken to open and close, Dirty walls and doors, lack of clean and painting. Stayed Saturday night and the outside party was loud inside our rooms until 7 am. Not exaggerating. So sad this magnificent building is falling apart inside due to lack of repair and painting.

Une honte, un établissement qui a été une référence de l'hôtellerie de luxe est tombé très très bas. derrière une façade et une réception encore un peu digne, le reste n'est que décadence. Je pensé trouvé un décor suranné mais là c'était au delà de la promesse... Pommeau de douche avec 3 jets, fuites au plafond, soirée dansante jusqu'au petit matin, petit déjeuner honteux... bref un hôtel à l'abandon, limite insalubre.

This is an old hotel. I would urge the hotel to put an electrical outlet in the bathroom if possible and to put outlets near the bedside tables for people who use cpap machines if possible. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay and loved the elegant antique furnishings.

It’s important to understand this hotel is far beyond its best days. I am sure then it was absolutely majestic, but now it’s just really lacking luster and glamour. Being across from the square will seriously disrupt any sleep you plan to get. The window was broken in our room to accommodate a portable ac.

We stayed for 3 nights. Pros: Great location, good breakfast, and friendly staff. Cons: Very noisy throughout the day and night. If you like hotels of yesteryear, this hotel is amazing. It could be the best hotel in town It has no central heating, the Windows are old so no Sound Isolation. If breakfast is included its ok, if you need to pay for it, there are better places

Check in and check did not go well. I booked and paid for 2 beds for 2 guests for 2 nights. This was because I didn’t want my guest who lived locally to have any issue visiting me. At check in, I was asked where second guest was, I explained, yet said I want the 2 bed room I booked. I was given a room with 1 bed. I went down and explained I paid for 2 beds and would like 2 beds. The room I was put in had moldy stains and blood stains on curtains, dirty stained lamp shade, and sheets had particles of even pieces of hair at the bottom inside the sheets. The sink was running and would not turn off. This second room was visibly worse than the first room I was in- unsure if it was intentional. I was woken up by front desk on Whatsapp at 11:55PM the day of my check in while I was sleeping. I rejected the call. I was then messaged saying I need to check in my other guest. I wrote back (while half asleep) saying no one else is in my room. I was informed there would be a fee for my guest up to 4 hours. Huh?! I checked out early at 4:30pm the next day because I had a flight. I was told I am supposed to check out the next day. I explainrd I needed to book 2 nights if I wanted to check out at 4:30pm since regular checkout is at noon. The front desk then just started texting on her phone and I stood there. I said what is going on? She said my room needs to be checked. Okay..Why not tell me that so I can go sit down and wait instead of staring at you while you text on your phone?

This place is amazing, what a beautiful hotel in the heart of Lima I would definitely recommend this place and will come back. The staff was wonderful, I arrived seven hours before check in and my plan was to leave my luggage in the front office closet and come back to check in but they were able to check me in seven hours prior at no extra cost. They definitely left a good impression and will definitely come back here when I'm in Lima.

Plaza San Martin continues to be as beautiful as originally built. Local authorities need to improve cleanliness, order and more than anything NOISE LEVELS. Otherwise, the hotel and location offer great value and historical attractions. The hotel itself is a 100 yr old beautiful museum. Once all its MEP features are updated it will continue to serve as one of the best hotels in Lima.
